So. back in June I had an episode of dizziness and confusion. My Dr sent me for a CT scan to look for stroke symptoms and found nothing, so they checked on my heart. Found out I had an Aortic Root Dilation with a valve that was leaking around 40%. Talked to a well renowned surgeon named Dr Joe Flack and he recommended a repair, no big deal, he's done much worse. well, the operation didn't exactly go as planned. they had me on a heart lung machine while they froze my heart to stop it during repair surgery. when they took me off the heart lung machine my Aorta disintegrated! Put me back on the machine and did more repairs. The first surgery lasted over 23 hours straight. they left my chest open for 3 days because they were having trouble getting me to stop bleeding. After the second day of surgery, they told my wife to start planning my funeral, they didn't think I was going to make it. In Critical ICU (at least a month) they were calling me the miracle man, everyone there knew my story. I was in a hospital or rehab from 9/9 to 11/9. I lost a lot of weight, mostly muscle, and have to learn how to walk again, the tubes they had down my throat caused vocal cord paralysis and I can barely speak. But I'm home and extremely thankful for my wife who's a nurse and can decipher their language. Insurance has been a total nightmare and she gets so frustrated with them. Before all this I was feeling fine, but I don't think I would have been around much longer without this accidental finding so I'm grateful for that No tractors for me for a little while, I was really looking forward to trying the tall chute snow blower I got at the end of the season last spring...

Incredible story! I love how after all that drama you still found a way to put a positive spin on it! That kinda spirit and attitude almost guarantees you a successful recovery

You mean you actually put your car in there? Sun of a bit@#. I didn't know that was a thing. lol I've had my 3 bay for 5yrs now and not once have I parked any of our vehicles in it. Unless it was getting worked on. Heck I couldn't ever attempt it now. Mysterious accumulation of miscellaneous impedimenta has befallen It's innards.

Spent the day serving the 16 Auto, greasing all moving parts and pieces. Changed the oil and checked the Hydro for fluid level. This tractor is a dedicated snow blower and only gets used this time of year. Then moved on to the Ç160 that's the plow tractor. I had already serviced it when I took the deck off. So I put the weights and chains on and swapped the front wheels for the set with roller chains. Finally putting on the 48" snow plow. So every thing is ready for the snow they say we have coming. Doesn't sound like much.

That is a Nova ignition module. It is used instead of the points, to up grade to electronic ignition. https://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Transistorized-Ignition-Module-Nova/dp/B007BI6FW6

It's important to remember two things. 1. When the little lady significant other BBT paint department disassembly technician Trina person informs you that one of those garage bays will be used for her car then you can fairly well assume that, one of those garage bays will be used for car. 2. Haven't even been using this thing full time yet which means I haven't had time to fill it full of my toys tools collections possessions prizes yet.

I hobbled out to the garage when I got home from work. I had tasked the boys with taking the mower deck off of Aiden 856 when they both got home from school. Shockingly they did it and didn’t kill each other. When I got home I showed them which plow was the original plow for the 856 and they installed it…together with minimal bickering lol. Just needs the wheel weights I have on my bronco 14, a new wire added to pull the pin for turning (handle wire)and chains. All stuff I have here. we also took the push blade for Alex’s plow restoration project to my work and put it in the heated shop to prime. I will have some free time tomorrow and begin painting it for him.

I am a firm believer that miracles do happen and you have confirmed it. In my opinion God brought you to a good doctor who had your best interest in mind and stayed with you through this incredible ordeal. Thank you lord for being with all of us in good times and bad.

I joined in 2012 after getting my first Wheel Horse purely by chance. I knew nothing about them, found this site and know a bit more now. Through Red Square I got to meet other owners here in the UK, who I now call friends. Also have made others over in the States, who i've not met but am in regular contact with via Skype. So many thanks to Karl, mods and members. Thanks again.

Prayers sent for complete healing. We have the best health care in the world and the most frustrating insurance system running it. I’m lucky my wife works in the health care field, so she is a big help to our family navigating the health care system.

Medical day today. Ran my wife to the doctor this morning for labs, had my 6 month check up right after lunch, then lost three cribbage games to my wife as we were watching the snow fall. Lots by skunk on two consecutive games - the chances of that happening are very, very slim. Couldn't believe it happened. Then, I braved the dark and cold horse shed and got the new 5 ribs and freshly painted wheels mounted on Clyde the C-195. They look 'right'. Pictures to follow once the weather gets a little nicer.

Cas, I can sympathize with your situation. I had been ignoring a gradual increase in back problems for years until my doctor ordered a lower spinal MRI. That revealed that my entire lumbar region was deteriorated to the point that I would need spinal fusion. Fortunately I am old enough to be on Medicare and have a good supplemental insurance plan so didn't have to put up with insurance nigh mayors. I saw several specialists who all seemed to have differing opinions on treatment and had to go through physical therapy to satisfy Medicare requirements. A couple of months went by and my back continued to deteriorate causing irreversible nerve damage before surgery was approved. The surgery and recuperation were as successful as could be expected and I know that if I had started the process sooner the outcome would have been better. Can't complain too much, at least I can walk with a cane. That is Sciatica caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve where it exits the spine, request a spinal MRI to confirm this. This is the symptom that started my little adventure. I pray that your surgeons make the best decision for your health and you will have a successful recovery.

Thank you everyone. I don't feel bad or am in any pain. Besides the back pain after washing van's roof which was gone two pills after., I feel OK. My right leg goes numb if I stand still in same spot for more than a minute and sitting on some chairs and sleeping on my back does it too. As per the orthopedic Surgeons ( I checked with 3 of them for opinions) Things have deteriorated with my spine but no reason to think of surgery yet. Numbness on leg not from that they say still chasing that one. An EMG next week. The tear in the cartridge will most likely need an injection and if that does not set things in right direction perhaps then surgery. The worrisome part are the spots on my bones. Still also chasing that one and on a blood test as part of it now they find some alarming abnormalities, therefor here comes the latest one in the loop, the Hematologist. More blood tests this week along with a full body bone scan and for the next 24 hours I have to pee in this container. I may start glowing in the dark any day now unless i run out of blood first.Seven vials yesterday. Again , I don't feel bad and i keep telling these people I got things to do. Got to have a little sense of humor otherwise this will drive me nuts.

Note the new dirt in front of the door. Trina built us a nice little gravel ramp to get the cars in. She used her great big giant Honda Fit as the compactor.

So I am a big fan of Jay Leno and Tim Allen and sorry to hear about Jay's mishap. Let's keep in mind that our hobbies involve the same thing their's do... Gasoline... I myself is often lax when that Techy float decides to pee gas all over the shop floor and how often are we changing fuel lines and filters spilling gas all over? A good wake up call here. We're hearing about this just because he is a noted car collector but this happens way to often we don't hear about. A shop safety thread may be in order here but please no comments about @Pullstart and drill bits.

Meh.. dunno how I feel about that. Have some experience in hand cranking diesel vibrating/compactor plates (or whatever you people call that ) and that was not always a pleasure. I have come to appreciate the start button or key. @Achto that the engines were in the Bobcats in the first place would suggest that they are rugged engins. However no engine gets better from sitting under a tarp for a few years, no matter how rugged the engine. Did'nt know that Robin/Subaru bought Wisconsin. I managed to source some parts for my Robin DY41D of the 512-D so i'm not too worried about parts availability (yet).

Well.. that's the catch.. it doesn't run.. it does still rotate with the handcrank according to the seller Because I too have a SO Kidding aside, thanks for the input. Dunno if I would swap it with my Robin diesel.. might be a little toight. Yes, yes, I like your thinking. Much like how my brain works. Also using this logic to convince my girlfriend that this would be a sensible investment. Doesn't always work..

Sounds like the seat switch is not closing with operator in the seat if it is the tractor I'm thinking about but that has nothing to do with the starter.

"should I?" HOW IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION??? Seriously though.... A Wisconsin V4 is known as durable and power level given the size is plentiful. I've considered them multiple times for a Horse but never had the chance. Go get it...

Sweet! I thought it was rather odd that I didn't need to mess with the points to get it running good...apparently it doesn't have any anymore. Lol.

Yep that is how it starts. Not going to diagnose the problem but now there is something telling you to change. From your past posts it is obvious you are a hard worker. Carried tons of work and projects, making it happen. The result is a worn out body. You are not a Wheel Horse Tractor! My biggest issue was I waited to long to make changes, like the van top for instance. i have had things like that bother me and jump out and take care of it. Now i just pass and move on. It is hard. Pick your battles.... they say. Now I am held together with glue and screws. Medical insurance is an overwhelming quagmire of red tape. My wife purchases her own insurance and broke her wrist this summer. A trip to the ER for a simple fracture. (You would think) There were bills sent out from doctors she never seen. After calling, turns out the ER doctor forwarded the X-Rays via email to specialists. (Yep it is broke) Some of these bills were 3 to 400. I know it is important to get a good handle on the problem, but at times, I think it has gone to far. Might be too many lawsuits??? Keeping good notes on the visits and billing is a great tool. Try to relax and take it as it comes.

I would clean and tighten all of your electrical connections including grounds. There is probably a wire terminal that is loose or corroded causing the problem.
