The neighbor called and said his friend is at his place with a dump trailer full of junk. Says there might be some weights in there you might want to take out. Never know might want to work out? Not! Might make a tractor happy! Yes ands a nice piece of 2 inch galvanized conduit.

Today I put the plow bracket on my 604.I went into the shed and my dad showed me what plow was the right one out of all the plows we have.

The side doors are hung. Front rolling doors and windows are in. Back door frame is hung. This one is being built in place because it's so large.

My wife was going to garage sales. I told her to keep an eye out for weight lifting eq. She comes home and tells me there is a weight bench and weight set 2 houses from ours. I walk over and there is no price on it. I ask her how much and she says it was her ex. boyfriends stuff. $10!

There is no tractor storage of any kind anywhere in this building unless they are being worked on. Upstairs the only thing that will be up there is the DOJO and some woodworking tools or other hobby Craft work. At this point in time there is no plan to install any sort of a winch or lift. If we can't carry it up the stairs it's not going up there.

Today the fellas got the pine siding pretty near to finished up. The front of the barn is clearly about to eat a man lift. More views showing angles under the shed roofs.

The 25 LB flat barbell weights I used now for 2 sets of front weights sell locally for a buck a pound....

@Handy Don As requested I put this togethor somewhere I could operate the blade independent of the snowblower. The winch operates the blade and the hydraulics raise/lower the blower. Winch on the ground, this is an older version, the idler wheel and round bar were replaced. Front of ladder frame connected to rear axle using the plow mounts. I installed the plow mounts backwards so the bolts in the frame go against the mount and not the latch if that makes sense. Added angle iron to the receiver using a u bolt. The legs connecting the ladder frame to the angle iron are 1/2" all thread, with 1/2" black pipe to act as a spacer. The back of the tractor evolved over the years, the receiver was the first addition, and everything else was added as time went on. Seems to work so it can't be wrong. to I have a B100 that I bought new in 1976. I thought I would never find another tractor that I would like so much. Over the years I’ve bought, sold and given away several B and C Series. All great tractors. Recently I bought a 1985 312-8. I planned on fixing it up a little and selling it. Well, long story short, this thing just said to me that it was never leaving, and I had to agree with it. I thought my B100 was something but this 312-8 is something more. Good luck on your hunt for a tractor. If you are fortunate enough to find a 312-8 or 314-8 I am sure you will be more than happy with it.

I gathered up the best parts from two transaxles. All nice and lubed in 30w & assembly grease. (I'll install the hydro motor and last bolts after the transaxle is mounted...) Parking Pawl in Thrust Washer Dry fit 46T Dry fit 44T Held 46T aligned to the Differential and dropped down both, keeping 46T synced and through the Thrust washer Grade 8 5/16th's bolts, everything turns smoothly, no grit nor unwanted debris Parking Pawl engaged Disengaged Ready for the Gasket & 3/8th's Bolts, grade 5.

Did the fall maintenance, and got it dressed for winter.

Kevin, ROPS are pretty much roll bars for small tractors, garden tractors and Z- turns. They are like the cage on a fork lift if you don't have a seat belt or you don't use one it's kind of a moot point .

I have 7 Sunstrand Hydros. 6 are in Charger /Electros and they all run ATF because that's what was in them. the D200 has 10w-30 because that what was in it. All have been using wix 51410 filters, some for many years. (I do think the ATF units are ready to work a bit faster when cold..) Other manufactures using same sunstrand specified different filter/fluids ...usually their own. We aren't using these unit 5 day a week 8 hours a day....Some things do not need to be over thunk....

We've had great weather for leaf grinding. I try to get out before it gets to thick. So every day a new blanket of leaves by my maple. Made an extension for my leaf blower and got the gutters. Then plowed the leave to a new spot in the yard for grinding. Do like my recycling deck!

Great photos. I passed them along to a friend of mine. He is an artist. His passion is painting birds. He enters the Federal Duck Stamp contest every year. Although he has never won that contest he has won other prestigious awards like NYS wildlife artist of the year. You have a outstanding talent. Love to see more of your work.

Ed, If we are lucky @dcrage will see this. I think I recall that he's a chemist whereas I'm just a Chemical Engineer. First, chemicals that end in "-ol" are typically alcohols. Ethanol, Methanol, Isopropanol, Butanol, Cholesterol, etc. It means that somewhere on them they have a paired oxygen and hydrogen (-OH) group hanging off of them. This gives them some unique properties (like relatively high boiling points for their molecular weights) since this group likes to stick to other things around it. It also provides a site for some chemical reactions to take root, so it can be useful for some things. The Oxygen that is drug along is one of the things that makes alcohols useful additives for gasoline. It helps "oxygenate" the fuel for better burning. They've likely changed the RV antifreeze formula to an ethanol-based supply due to some ongoing propylene glycol shortages or price increases. Propylene Glycol is widely used as a starting material for other process and also in cosmetics and whatnot, so it may have elevated value in comparison to ethanol. I think the ethanol/PG price has probably flipflopped recently due to the worldwide upheaval we've seen in the last few years. If it flips again, so will the formulation (probably). Ethanol is the alcohol that we drink. Our bodies have enzymes and digestive systems that can metabolize ethanol in certain doses. As far as I know, we don't metabolize propylene glycol and it likely just passes on through the system in reasonable doses. When I was reading the safety info on the PG RV antifreeze last year I found something that it was assumed to be non-toxic by analysis but hadn't actually been tested. This isn't unreasonable since you don't ingest it in appreciable quantities. On the other hand, Methanol is poisonous and is the fraction in the distilling process that gets thrown away. It has a significantly lower boiling point than the ethanol that the moonshiner is trying to keep, so it comes out of the still first. It MUST be thrown away or you can go blind, be horribly poisoned, or die if you consume it. I didn't watch @Pullstart video, but if they have methanol and ethanol interchanged it's a big problem. I don't remember why it's poisonous, but I think it is metabolizable by the body into a poison whereas some things will pass right through. Curiously, the treatment for methanol ingestion is to rapidly and profusely infuse ethanol into the body to displace it. You can mix these two RV formulations into each other harmlessly, but I don't know what to expect it will do to the freezing point as there is often a weird mixing effect with alcohols with respect to freeze point. It probably maintains a low freeze point, but I don't really know. I'd use - and we are using - whatever is available and not giving it any additional consideration. I wouldn't pay more for one formulation over the other. Just use whichever is convenient. Plumbing systems should be tolerant to any of these RV formulations. You shouldn't have much (if any) aluminum in your plumbing and that would be the other thing that might be suspect that I can think of. But even in that case it's likely to be a non-issue. Steve

Gosh, the problem I see with welding on more tubing is... that becomes your weak point... Maybe... if you have some overlap of the tubing, either inside or outside the existing tubing, that would reinforce the tubing for safety purposes and extend it, then weld together. Don

Well. Easy solution to where I should mount it. Reference the mower it came from. I essentially need the bar to be right behind the fender by about 1/4”. The bottom of the bar should be at the bottom of the fender. It only mounted to one 1/4” plate on each side, no double shear. The tubing I would use to build the mount is 1/16” thicker than the ROPS itself.

I’m a firm believer in buying a tool up front to save me in the long run. I understand there are space constraints here and there, but if at all possible to stick a Harbor Freight bead breaker / tire changer, It’ll pay for itself in one tractor.

Found my 312-8 I hope. I have a half way meet setup with the seller and he has listed it as pending. I told him that I would send him my list so that we won't be wasting each other's time and gas. That means the engine shaft is now in a different location than the original shaft was if you're using the same belt. The belt guard might not fit correctly to allow for proper belt slip when clutching. Is it possible to reposition that shaft? Like shim it up if it's too low and / or bigger holes in the frame to slide it forward?

Well folks here I am battling back n forth again. My weight has been consistently in the mid 260s for a year or so with some deviations here n there. Back in June I was feeling good with increasing endurance. Late that month myself decided to kick my own @$$. Lost energy. Lost endurance. Pains increased. WTH ??!!?? Gained a few pounds to 270. Well I'm back at it again. signed up on the same programs at work as last year. Weight loss goal for this time is 8 lbs. From 268 I'm down 3 to 265. 3 weeks to go. BBT and I have been moving my me a little more. Walking up this mountain side is a great workout. Let's keep it going!! 🐻 🤠

After a little further investigation, mostly because I can't leave well enough alone, I have a stainless steel switch coming Friday. I made a seat for the 953. I know, I know it's not black with a white stripe, but I had this FREE roll of tan vinyl and I actually think it looks good with the brown oil/rust finish. Then I made a storage rack for my 4 decks. Used up another FREE bed rail.
