Just kidding! Dropped a whooping $10 on this pumpkin, plopped it on my yard art rig and called it DONE! That’s about all I’ll be doing this year

I don’t recall past years pumpkin prices. I assumed it was by the pound but instead the circumference was measured and that is how pricing was determined. Kinda thought $10 was a bit steep… but this was at the farmers market in town and all pumpkin proceeds (or profit?) goes the the local food bank so that made me feel good.

Cleaned up these IH wheel weights I picked up this summer. I use these as inside weights on my plow rigs, gives me an extra 50#’s on the rear. Went with red for this set. Last set I painted up are black and in my sons 314-8.

Just picked up this 312-8 from an older gentleman local to me. Plans are to use it to snowblow the driveway this winter, fix it up and make it look nice, and basically run the heck out of it when I need to. I feel like I got a decent deal on it- I got the tractor, blower, plow, deck and bagger for $850. I am going to play with it a bit more this weekend and see how it comes out. Thanks for looking.

@Sparky , Please ask @OldWorkHorse… I just somehow posted this… technology made me do it against my will . It is his post and his tractor, besides I could never fab up something that nice. And my solution to the light being too high would be to notch out the top of the door…

Well I took a road trip today up to Walton, Indiana just southeast of Logansport. I agreed to buy a 2004 42 inch tall chute snowblower based upon photos alone. Not always a good idea but I had a feeling about this one. Light dirt, no belt but all the parts including lift tube, flag. Etc. Turns out it was owned by a farmer that had a blacktop road back to his house . He had a 1982 c-165 hydro which had wheel weights, chains and a mower deck. But he told me he bought snowblower in 2004 and only used it five or six times! And the looks of the auger, nuts and bolts, blower chain, and paint said it was so. Here are some pictures ! I also got a manual and I did not know Toro recommended 100 pounds of weight in the rear wheels. Also like the grease fittings on the snowblower bearings.

The Ven-Track does a fair job, but we chuck punkins over a mile in Delaware. The national championship was held here for 33 years till a lady got injured and filed a law suit.

The clutch pulley mount arm was rattling against the belt cover. Awfully annoying. Investigated and found wear on the pivot shaft and the holes in the frame. I built up the shaft and oversized the holes in the frame and used bushings. Tightened things up nicely.

Yeah because people keep running them over with snow blowers on ventracs

We don't celebrate Halloween so we don't decorate for it but I do have a great appreciation for the colors of fall. Most years I'll get a hold of some gourds and lay them out and maybe some straw or dead corn plants as decoration. Quite a lot of work there Mike. One whole pumpkin. You get that done all in one day? I was thinking about buying five small ones for five front steps but I'm not sure I can handle that much exertion.

I still cherish the diploma I received from the squirelly professor for my rebuilding of a regulator.

They weigh about 45 lb each. Those carrying handles are great! No struggle moving them, and they really helped in getting them mounted. They also give a good place to attach bungees if needed to tighten the chains. In retrospect though, I should have used a couple of the garage door handles I have laying around instead of repurposing the wire handles from the buckets.

Installed my homemade wheel weights and chained up the C-125. Painted the top of the weights with the embedded brake rotor and concrete, but paint won't bond to HDPE so I opted for some black 200 MPH tape instead. BTW... I did not paint those wheels! Done by P.O. So no razzing please!

I just got this 1650 powered by K341. First thing changed out the carburetor. Oil we be drained and fluids replaced. I have it where it'll run and idle nicely will be replacing the forward PTO belts, found OEM 8 bucks a piece with free shipping. I have 900.00 into this with belts & Carb from (IsaveTractors.com) The carb I grabbed up earlier for another project and it wouldn't cooperate, so tried it on this and viola! Although the Snow Blower is nice enough for a single stage, I do not care for the exhaust coming straight outta the front grill You can see the blackened paint and all that heat on the right headlight and Drive Assembly for the unit. The Cab is nice enough, solid and the 3 pt cat 0 at 2000 rpm is a good helper, once I install the double 1/2 x 23 belts it'll be ready! Again the blackened paint and all from that poorly engineered exhaust, have to change that! True to Factory on this unit the K341 Weather protector between the Hood and Cab, just need to figure that out! lol The Deck is really solid and has the weird straight 3 blades with cogged belt Not rusted through and the blades are timed with the cogged belt. Finally a really nice set of Turfs

When most people say they are going to "barbecue" food what they actually mean is grill. Hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks etc. are all grilled. Cooked quickly over high, direct heat. Barbecue is done over direct lower heat for long periods of time. Smoking, as mentioned earlier is low, indirect heat for extended periods of time. Sometimes days depending on the method.

You'll see throughout the site here that my Trina has a few different monikers. One is The Paint Department. She does all our painting. She has a neat trick for cold weather. Keep the part to be painted and the can of paint in the warmth of the house. Grab both and go outside to spray. As soon as you're done take them right back in and hang the part to dry. She can do this down to about 20⁰ or so but has to be fast.

Up here in Maine and Massachusetts where I come from a BBQ and a grill are interchangeable terms as far as the mechanism and methodology used to make the food hot. Heat source can be wood, charcoal, gas produced flame. The food being cooked is fairly close to the flame and it's the flame itself it does the cooking. I'm fairly new to the world of smoker foods but my understanding of them is that the food is a lot farther away from the heat source which is flavored wood chips of some sort that make a particular kind of smoke. It's the smoke that cooks the food and it takes quite a lot longer because it's a lower temperature. I'll be curious to see the answers from other folks.

Thanks for the video Eric. That Lombard log skidder looks similar to the Phoenix log Skidder. Wonder why they both made the steer guy sit way out front? Specially when you consider that these skidders where originally designed for winter use and would have had skis on the front instead of wheels.

Well done there! I do believe I have seen the "Shingle-majig" before on "How It's Made with Mike Rowe. Not for the faint of heart - I'm sure most of the operators were nicknamed "Stubby" Did you notice the guy in the green shirt around the 2 minute mark?? I asked myself "Is that Kevin @Pullstart???" Nah, not dangerous enough! Back in the 80's building gundrills, we had a large shaper of similar design to the one at the 4 minute mark in the Machine Shop. Only saw it being used 2 or 3 times - remembered two interesting things - first - it shook the floor as the cutter would rip a quarter inch slice of material off the work each pass. And, it gave off a distinct ozone smell from the 440 volt buzzing electromagnet that turned on at the end of stroke to pivot the tool up to be off the work for the next pass.

Welcome. As pullstart mentioned, using a two-stage on the "armstrong" lift is REAL WORK. Make sure you search for and get the OM and IPL (owners manual and illustrated parts list) from this site's files archive. Search using the model number of the blower. That'll show you how to correctly mount it, including the critically important load balancing spring.

I have done that in other instances here… seem to find my way back to it… I just hit “submit”, “save”, or whatever and let technology win !

Not sure. I haven't had the chance to play with it much. I pulled it off my trailer and parked it. I am going to give it a good once over, greasing, and cleaning this weekend.

I see some rust on that diff mount bracket. No better time to take care of that then now. looking really good.

Vinyl guy also produces new decals with a “aged cracked look”. They may not be shown on the web site, butI think he can do it to any designs he currently has.

Yeah, a couple pound of flat washers from TSC for $5 worked.
