11 pointsMe and @TonyToro Just put on a new set of Dog Bone tires on Lunch Money (my pulling tractor). We had a pull yesterday and I didn’t have much traction so this morning we put on the new set. Hopefully at the next pull in 2 weeks I get more traction.

6 pointsWorked a bit more on my new to me plow. Also learned somthing today, newer 300 style wheel horses need a differnt style plow angle lever then the straight ones I seem to only find. So simple solution, cut up the straight lever and widen it to fit and work. Seems to do the job probably going to weld some reinforcement angles on it and my only problem I have left is making the plow pin squeeze release work. Can't seem to find any good photos of a newer 300 series plow set up to get a good idea. Was thinking eye bolts and steel cable? Thoughts ideas and photos welcome.

5 pointsbeen doing a lot of fishing this summer just got back from Saginaw bay Michigan did a 2 day charter walleye fishing . and been wanting to buy another big boat since sold my other one back in 2003 now just have a 14 foot v bottom boat me and the wife go out on the local lake and fish crappie and blue gill with an electric trolling motor . bought this 2003 20 foot pontoon today with a merc four stroke 70 on the back and dealer installing 2023 merc 115 command thrust pro xs out board . boat in great shape an 80 year old couple bought new in 2003 from the same dealer i bought it from and took great care of it . will get more pics when i get it home hopefully next week. dam new pontoons 40 to over 100k to pricey for me i not been doing much tractor work this summer just been mowing with my c145 hydro and it been a beast for mowing the fish pic is me on left had few too many beers guy on left is wife's uncle . this was the second day limit had 1 northern pike and one perch extra caught same amount this first day

5 pointsHere is the type brace I used on my stack. The one inch ninety degree elbow is replaced by a 1'X1/2"X1" black iron "T" with the 1/2" outlet pointing down. A 1/2" plug was drilled and taped for a 1/4-20 bolt that attaches the bracket, other end goes to a motor mount bolt.

4 pointsThanks Mike - the the correct P/N is 108035 - recently bought 2 - one for the 502, one for a spare for the working girls.... Cee - Don't use a pair of pliers or Vise-Grips to install the spring, as that can nick the end of the spring, and that is where it will break. Use a pair of brake spring pliers with the hook ( who uses these nowadays??) hook the spring, other end goes on the Unidrive near the hole in the gusset - stretch the spring, seat the end in the hole, roll the hook of the tool out. Been there... done that.

4 pointsFor a few months now Alex has been saying he would like to find a tub cart like mine. Well one came up for sale about an hour from us and he parted with some of his hard earned cash and bought it. It’s solid with no holes the end is has a dent but we can figure that out. It’s been repainted at some point. He already has plans to repaint it when he does his 604 over. Stopped at harbor freight on our way home. Both boys were drooling. I know some of their stuff isn’t the best but for 2 boys who seem to lose all dads good tools these will be fine for them lol.

4 pointsCan't say it won't help but can't hurt fellas. I been running JK stacks for years now and never a problem with having to add a support. Worse problem was using BS 1" alloy electrical conduit lock nuts where desired. They melted. Use real steel ones. That and runner like ya stole her.. the carbon and rust will hold it in place. Crap I suppose you want pics... OK but but only this once and since you asked nicely...

3 points@OldWorkHorse that thing looks slick! Have you run those tires in the snow before? You may find yourself wanting to spin the front tires around backwards for improved steering in the slick stuff.

3 pointsThat’s a clever trick, to offset the pressure in the front tires. I’ll remember that in case I ever have another narrow front. I believe the wobble is the reason the front tires lean in like they do. It makes them less prone to search for a line. The Raymond Loewy Farmalls are beautiful machines. But i think the Cockshutts look good too. The model 30 was basically the first mass produced tractor to have a live PTO. Those Canadians 🇨🇦 are innovators what with their live PTO’s and square drive screws! steve

3 pointsFor me choosing a favorite is kinda like choosing a favorite child or grandkid. I currently have five and each one has some sort of story to it that could make any of them my favorite. Let's start with the oldest first. I still remember the day in 1960 when my Dad pulled in the driveway with a brand new Suburban in the back of the Plymouth Valiant station wagon. In 2014 when we were still living in Florida I was scanning Ebay just to look at pictures when I ran across this Suburban. Not even thinking it would be anywhere near I about messed my shorts when I saw it was about 15 miles away. Since it wasn't listed I couldn't tell from the pictures if it was a 60 or 61 so I contacted the seller. He didn't know so I asked him if I could come look at it. Sure. I made sure I would win the auction but I still got it cheap because there was only one other bidder. The pulley was welded on the tapered shaft engine. I got a different K-91 from a member here at the big show. There's a thread on here about the rebuild. After a complete nuts and bolts rebuild this is how she ended up. This was the picture that Terry used on my big show banner. To my surprise it was also the picture he used on some signs he made that you can see above the banner. The background and stack have been photoshopped (or something) out. How can you help but love the little Suburbans? Next up is the 854 I picked up at the 2018 big show. It had been restored but had some paint damage and it had been reassembled haphazardly. Here's when I first saw it. This is it now and dedicated to the sickle bar mower. Everything on the sickle bar was complete frozen up with rust and I believe the guy I got it from considered it nothing but scrap. There's a thread here on the rebuild. 854's have always been one of my favorite models. Now comes the 1968ish Indy 500. I remember trying to talk my Dad into getting one when we were looking at one on the dealer floor. He wanted nothing to do with the Tecky engine. There's another thread telling the full story but in a nutshell a 657 and a 500 Special, both complete messes, were given to me in Florida. I used both plus more parts to build a version of a 500 Special my Dad probably would have bought. The K161 spent it's early years running a pump sprayer for Micky Mouse. Next in line is my 'B'-160. Other than saying that I bought this brand new as a B-80 and I won't go into it again because most of you know. This tractor runs a 42" deck (off a 2005) in the summer and a blower in the winter. If being sedimental was the only criteria here this would be my favorite. Newest on the list is my 2005 Classic. I found this on the Gulf coast. It was only 4 years old and only had 100 hours on it and he was wanting $1200 for it. I stumbled across it on Craigslist and told my wife that this guy had no idea what he had. I immediately contacted him and drove over there with trailer in tow. He met us in front and said he would drive it around. The second I saw it I was dropping the ramp on the trailer. My wife had the $1200 in her purse and I told her to give it to him. My mind was saying hurry up before he changes his mind. Well, he did sorta change his mind. As my wife was handing him the money he said to just give him $1000 because we drove all that way. This seems to carry most of the work around here. In the summer I use the 48" deck I bought in the 70's when I converted the B-80. The 42" that came with this is used on the 76. In the winter I used a blade on it. The blade was also given to me and was totally rusted tight but was no match for a big hammer and PB Blaster.

3 pointsMy RM-366 deck had a lot of vibration and noise. Last week I found that one of the face gears was not turning evenly against the spur gear around its full revolution. The face-to-spur variation was over ⅛"--not conducive to smooth gear meshing! At first I though it was the gear itself, but after tearing it down today the gear measures good and the bore is true. Hmmm. @ri702bill suggested checking for a bent cross shaft. It woulda taken me a while to get there but that was it--there's no runout where it goes through the flange bearing support (dark band at green arrow) but it bends at the red arrow. Thankfully the parts pile has a straight one which got cleaned up, primed, and painted today. Reassembly tomorrow, the grass awaits! Also finally got the last of the prep done on the 854 hood I picked up at the Big Show and painted it. I'll let this one cure for a week before putting it on. Gotta look good for @stevebo's M&G.

3 pointsGetting pretty close to a running tractor. I guess with just a couple more wire connections I could physically run it, but would not be able to drive it anyways. Still have to paint the motor tins, belt guard, seat pan, fenders, and the foot boards. Hope to be to that point by the weekend.
