My son Brad gets married today…so he stayed over at my house last night. Wedding day can’t get in the way of chores tho!! Saturday is dump day… so I put him to work this morning

First, I’d like to apologize to my children for some day having to deal with all my stuff. Got a lawn roller today for $30. It’s built well and is full of concrete, with greaseable pillow block bearings. I’d either have to go 30 minutes home and get a trailer, then 30 minute return trip and 30 back home again… or I made a deal for $65 on this collapsible engine hoist and loaded it into the truck!

I just got the rims back from my new powder coater last night. This is Oyster White, RAL-1013. $50.00.

I just bought this Raider 14. It has been restored and the motor was rebuilt.

Nice, I had one but I don't think the 500 Specials were ever at the Indy. Stories like this keep the myth alive. That being said.... would I get another one ?? YES !!! Only this time I would put a 8hp Kohler in it.

@WHX?? and I took a little day trip to Calumetville WI to partake in the RS Vintage Steel show. This was a small show but they had a lot of exhibits as well as a lot of spectator traffic. Thought you guys would like a few pictures. My friend Willy with his Frick steam engine. Some nice old trucks. Working hit & miss model engines. This Farmall H was hand made by the owner. All castings were done in aluminum. Interesting use for a JD tractor. Found this GT 14 in disguise. Apparently the owner thought that it looked like a Haas tractor. I guess I can kind of see it. Hey everyone, just dropping in to say hi and that after all these years the design of the black hood actually makes sense. I never really cared much for this model, till mowing with her tonight and stopped to watch the sun set. All the questions in the world today, this one was answered. I hope you guys are all out there just taking a moment to kick back and enjoy.

Still a nice tractor. Long story here So I'm up north and this gal called Alice Acht stops in. I kid you not Dan she was just missing the erberg. I'm up nort so Ciiinnndddaaayyy comes to the door in her pj's in a towel at 2pm. She was sweating like a ho in church doing chores and takes an early shower. Alright then Alice proceeds to tell her she notices red tractors in my yard and noticed a few at plow day. So she asks my wife if we would be interested in her tractor... a . So Cindy let's me know and one day Alice shows up at my door at 730 am and I'm still in my skivies and morning coffee attire. How's that for a visual Silvia? I pay the taxes here so enter at your own risk! Anyhoo Cindy, Poo Poos and I take the 70 mile run to go look see. I says what do you think you have to have for it? "I just want to get rid of it before it breaks and nobody can fix it" I'm yer man I says and got it for gas money. You 🤡 s do the math. EB might have to take his shoes off tho. Like @Achto 's rat LR I have not a clue what to do with it... tractor heavy don't ya know @Pullstart just couldn't pass. Came with a deck and BONUS ... TL36. Bonus arm rests... heard tell they don just grow them on trees anymore! OK 'nuff yakin... pics...more on the obvious repo later. I place it as '74.

WOW!! Did we get some painting done today. ..... Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 sq ft. That'll be more than enough to cover the second floor and then some. Here's a few pics starting from this morning. Trina and I were rolling the face and groove edge. Her mom was brushing the top surface of the tongue. We started out both just painting right on the pine unit but I found after a few minutes I needed a higher work area. Cinnamon Horse C160 and the utility trailer worked quite well. Long shot of the whole shebang. Earlier this morning the builder left his trailer and this Ditch Witch brand machine. Forks. Light ground work. Most importantly.. it's the auger for making the pole holes. 24" diameter holes 48"+ deep. Around 28 to 30 of them.

I'm missing a pic of one and a couple impliments but this is my herd in a nut shell.

Agreed I did this one in 09. But you get the idea. Just the transmission. One part out of hundreds on a crawler. !

Thank you both. Yes that was indeed a lot of blending. Welding, grinding, diegrinding, filing.. all the good stuff. I tried to make the arm look like it could be a cast and machined piece once it's all painted. Probably going to give the big round parts some more attention. They aren't as smooth as I would like yet, stand out in a negative way. Still a few hurdles to go before I can lift implements with the tip of my fingers but slowly and surely we'll get there.

Well, things took another turn 🤔. For the better? For worse? I'm not sure. It does look like it may have room for 2 engines after all.

Excellent idea!! They could include free safety gear with all rentals… flip flops, cowboy boots and shorts…

If you look at these two pictures, the halves are sitting like they would in your tractor. The 1st picture is the right side and at the far left in the middle is the input shaft hole. The top 2 holes are for your shift rails and the bottom hole is for your cluster gear shaft. What spins in neutral (with the clutch out)...the input shaft, the spline shaft and the cluster gear shaft. That is enough to keep the trans bearings lubed, but only the cluster gear shaft, the bottom of the mushroom gear and the lower part of the differential are in the oil. In the second picture, the left side of the transmission, notice the small indentation at 7 o'clock of the 1533 differential carriage bearing. That is your fill plug and that is where the oil level should be. As you can see, the input bearings are above the oil level, but with those shafts turning when ever the clutch is out, the bearings stay well lubed. Know that these transmissions throw the oil all over the gears and bearings, if you over fill the trans with oil, the gears cannot throw the oil like it should.

Never cared for the black hoods at first either, then I got one. Needless to say it grew on me quite fast. The "C" series tractors have become one of my favorite's. The flat spot on the black hoods also works great to set your gym bag on while you cruise from the camper to the showers when your at a show.

Put a grader blade on Boss Man. Little by little. It’s a reproduction but I didn’t get the blade to collect, I got it to use.

Brace your selves. This exhibit was by far one of my favorites. Fact I spent about 20min admiring this thing. No this is not just a pile of junk parked on the fence line. This is a full on Class A motor home built on a John Deere A chassis. All the amenities of home on this baby. A few pic's of the general outside features. @ebinmaine this is what you & BBT need for your adventures through Main. Note the patented water collection system. Just under the boars head you can see the central air conditioning. The honey wagon on the back is handy for brining along those few little extra things. It also includes a high end rest room. As for the kitchen, well this sign is here to let you know what the main staple in life should be. Always remember to keep fresh road kill in stock. The holding tank is easily emptied by simply pulling this lever. Note the small sign. I believe that it is the security system, it reminds passers by that this is some ones home. Custom interior includes cabinets, heating system, & lighting. The over head counsel in the drivers cabin has all the bells & whistles. Seriously!! No less than 5 different horns at your finger tips. Plus a wolf whistle and a pull string bell. A couple of signs to remind you just how good life is.

Might be a couple of duplicates here... that's OK. Sure was a nice little show and well organized. I was very impressed. Nice little flea market and just a ton of big tractors We had no less than three folks come to our display and asked us if we were buying horses! This was only a day gig for us but Dan had a fine four on the trailer. Nice little parade they had and I got seat time on the diesel in It!

Now I hate to be the one to chew your rear JA but you been a member long as I have so you should know dang well two things ... There is a section labeled other brands And we like all things mechanical.

Crapola... looks like ther is a rod in ther for a WI and that mag mighta worked on the Gibson. Oh well ... word of advise Kev ... never pass on Wisconsin parts or Clintons at a flea market like I do ... Thanks for scoring the tank and support for me... Senior parts fellas. Might have to have box that up and send it to me while the Senior is still in the shop and I have to move it out for plow day. Give ya a call.

Kev, The comment about the kids forgiving you has definitely struck a chord. I have been collecting and hoarding for over 50 years and now, I'm trying to downsize. Piles of part get reassembled into a large lump. This machine got broken down to bare cases in Oct 2021 and now it is going back together.

First of all I again wish to say 'thank you' to you for checking in on this project. Just saw that the viewcounter surpassed the 7000 views and more than 220 comments. Now for an update. Been working on the 3-point some more and beefed up the upper liftarms. Since that is were all the force will be applied I made sure that this will not break. Again probably overkill but hey.. more weight over the rear axle is not a bad thing. Anyway here's some pictures for your entertainment. Any comments, questions or remarks are very welcome. Thats what I believe to be true as well. Wheel Horses were at Indy before 1968 when the 500 Special came out. I think the ones at Indy were 10hp limited slip. Not sure of the model or models. Not to knock on the 500 Special but it was not the best Wheel Horse had to offer at that time. I did a lot of work to mine and was very pleased at the results but like I said... next one I would just rather put a Kohler with a key start.

Decided to get the 875 out of the back of the garage this morning. Checked the oil, got the grease gun out. Gave it a few shots of grease. Couple of squirts of WD40 here and there. Poured some fresh ethanol free, stabilized gas in it. It's ready for work. Keeping my eyes open for a set of chains for the back tires. I added the wheel weights this summer. I plowed with it last year with no weights and no chains and it handled the snow fine. I have a set of AG tires I could use but rather keep the turf tires on.

Yes. Those hoods flop around like a carp on a dock as they are. One reason why I never really cared for them unless I did this.

I’ve always loved the black hoods…looking over the hood with those “fins” on top That part of the hood you all wanna chop off would probably make the hood weak, might find yourself adding stiffening parts under the hood. Mine…

I found this sign cleaning out the garage. I found it in my father in laws shed during the clean out. It had been painted over pretty thick. I cleaned it up on the sander at work today and it looked cool. I thinks it’s fitting. 😁

I haven't been posting much lately. Life's been keeping me pretty busy. But I recently traded in a vehicle and got a Dodge Grand Caravan for a daily driver. Needed some storage in the back for tools and stuff. So I built this subfloor with a trap door. Decided to do something a little extra on the door and freehanded a emblem and etched it out. Then painted it up. Still got to put the handle on and touch up paint around the door. But figured some of y'all would like to check it out. Hope everyone here is doing well.

So my 856 had a hole in its dash. Don't ask me how it got there, it was there when I got it. Didn't like looking at it every time I got behind the wheel so...... I got me a WWII ammunition gauge to put in its place !! Not really.... it's just a refrigerator magnet but way cooler to look at then a hole !!

Also, if you plan to liquid fill the tires I think it is best to use tubes rather than having the liquid directly against the rims.

That and ease of installation is why all my newly mounted tires are getting tubes. The added expense for the tube is well worth the aggravation reduction.
