I received a 1989 Wheel Horse 312-8 Magnum from my brother-in-law’s father who bought it brand new in 1989. When I got it it would not start but was in good shape still, original headlight still shine bright! I cleaned it up and replaced a bunch of parts (starter solenoid, battery, fuel pump, fuel line, fuel filter, cleaned the gas tank, air filter, spark plug, mower deck belt) and got it working for a bit, but it continued to die again. I looked over all the wiring and surprisingly it all seemed in contact and not chewed up by mice. I unfortunately don’t have the time and space to hang on to it anymore. When I put a little gas in the carburetor it starts right up so I think the problem lies somewhere within the fuel pump. I would rather try and sell it to someone who can get it going again before scrapping it as these machines are gems. I am in the Buffalo, NY area.

We have available a completely restored 42" Recycler deck, # 1542RC02. Starting with a super clean, solid , original Recycler deck, all pieces were sandblasted, the carrier assembly , rear axle assembly, and Recycler insert were powder coated for durability. The deck shell was epoxy primed and professionally painted and baked on using all top of the line PPG products. The underside of the deck was sprayed with an industrial grade bedliner material which is hard and durable ( not thick and rubbery like many spray in liners ). All the wheels, rollers, bearings, nuts, bolts, hardware, springs, bushings, correct Recycler blades, belt, etc. are brand new. This is essentially a better than new deck with a much higher quality / more durable finish than new. Put this on your show quality restored Horse or put it to work for another 30 years. This is arguably the best cutting deck that Wheel Horse or Toro ever offered for these vintage tractors. If you maintain your lawn to a high standard and cut regularly these are fantastic decks. 96 520H includes rear weights and reconditioned 48" deck with all new hardware including belt and blades. Tractor has been gone through from top to bottom. Changed all fluids and filters. Decarboned heads with new head gaskets, exhaust gaskets and intake gaskets. New plugs and accelerator pump in carburetor. New air filter and fuel filter. Readjusted valves and resales intake. New front tires not on, but included with sale. Rear tires are new. The only thing not working is the tachometer gauge. Most fasteners have been upgraded to stainless fasteners.
