9 pointsYour pic inspired me to get off my butt & get 2 of my favorite girls out, C's of course, C-81 & CJ7. ( they are always game for a good photo opp ) The C-81 is going to help me pick up sticks & branches from that "Pure Michigan" thunderstorm that rolled through here Monday. The CJ7 well.... She just likes to run over them!

9 pointsGot a notification on comments on Colossus and thought some progress finally being made?? Oh silly me. What a daft idea.

9 pointsGot out the deck rack with the rebuilt 42, 48 and 60 decks for a wash, dry and lube. These are my spares that were getting way too dusty.

8 pointsThe key to my success (so far) is learning to fall gracefully. If you are falling, you might as well fall and get it over with! If you attempt to break your fall you are likely to brake your wrist instead. Land on your but, dust yourself off, look around to be sure nobody saw you fall, if nobody saw it; it didn't happen.

7 pointsI stopped drinking alcoholic beverages when I developed AFib. However, that didn't stop me from hurting myself. That seems to come with old age.

5 pointsWell. First things first I want to offer up a hearty thank you to our own @Handy Don. Yesterday he shared a post of this tractor and two little words. "Of interest?". My reply was a somewhat excited. "I'D BUY THAT IN A HEARTBEAT !!!" And today, Don made it happen. It'll be a bit before we get it here to Maine just due to scheduling. @Herder Adam and I have a meeting to attend to as well... It's possible Trina and I will zoom down to NY and plop some stuff on the trailer. One question right off. How can we get this paint off the serial number tag without ruining the tag?? Here's some more pics.

5 pointsThe transmission service manual is great. Well written with lots of illustrations. However, @stevasaurus video is even better.

4 pointsGot some 5 x 4.5 bolt 8" x 3.75" wide rims. I figured on tossing these on the Cinnamon Horse '74 C160 -8 with the trailer hub front conversion. Tires will be Deestone tri ribs. 4.00/4.80.

4 pointsSome people have all the luck. Every year our high school buys, rebuilds, restores, some type of classic car, and sells raffle tickets at different events throughout the school year. The final drawing and give away is held at our local antique festival. This was held this past weekend. Two years ago, I believe it was a Camaro. Last year was a '69 Chevelle. This year, it was a '79 Corvette. I bought several tickets throughout the year myself at different places. But alas, I didn't win. My son in law did though! Now you may consider him a pretty lucky guy, and I suppose he is. Then again, he has to license the Corvette, insure the Corvette, store the Corvette, and maintain the Corvette. While on the other hand, all I have to do is drive the Corvette. Who's the lucky guy now?

4 pointsAt this years Big Wheel Horse Show in Pennsylvania I had two tractors my B-80 and my 854. The 854 had not been used for three months and when I went to start no juice from battery. It would not turn over but I had lights. So I asked my friend Jerry Karp if he had a jump box . He said yes I could borrow his. Interestingly. Jerry had a lithium ion battery device I had not seen before. A GB-70 2000 amp battery charger/jump starter. So I hooked it up and boom right away the 854 started. I liked that it was compact about a third the size or less of most jump boxes I had in the past. I still have one from Harbor Freight but did not that to Gettysburg this year. So I checked it out and liked it. It has a light. , ports for other devices like IPad, laptop or I phone. Made in Malaysia and comes with four or five electric plug connectors as it is sold world wide. It costs between $175 and $225 depending on seller but it fits easily under a seat. A perfect thing to take to tractor shows.

4 pointsMessed about with a couple carbs this evening. A Kohler cleanup in process for a fellow Redsquare member. Also got back into this Walbro from a Tecumsehorse C160 OHV160 engine. I've had it apart to clean it out but didn't have the right gaskets on hand. It wants to run but needs more help. I'll order up a kit for it. Any advice on how to easily remove the Welch plug on the side?

4 pointsKevin, that clutch disk isn't goin to work well the way you have it mounted there.
-
4 pointsShow us a picture of the broken off terminal. I had the same thing happen to me and I was able to dig around the area of the coil were the terminal is an expose enough metal to be able to latch another wire end on. It's already broke, you can't spoil a rotten egg.

4 pointsThat is the Lift Cable CONDUIT. It mounts under the hoodstand...in that 'tunnel'. The hoodstand is then bolted to the trans, of course, allowing the Lift Cable unobstructed movement when liftin rear implements. It sticks out a bit in the back for you to route the cable. The CONDUIT will also move inside that tunnel...it isn't supposed to be a tight fit...has to move a little.

3 pointsSo today I went in for an hour long massage and chiropractic adjustment. They both focused on my shoulder muscles and I am feeling the good burn. My range of motion has improved greatly. I’ll keep on “light” work and exercise. I’m glad though that they were able to free me up a bit more!

3 pointsI picked up a Simplicity Broadmore couple years ago for free. I have told the story as of how hard I had to work to get that SOB in my truck. Rear end locked up, no help, had to drag by hand 75 yards in the pouring rain then get it up my ramps onto my truck while the previous owner just watched me. After I did all he could say was" I can't believe you got that in there". I was supposed to give him 30 bucks for it but after he watched me struggle and not give up he gave it to me. Day later it was running and driving. Gave it some love and passed it on.

3 pointsThere are several threads that would be helpful because these transmissions are so similar. To find them go to Reference section Transmissions You'll see threads for 6 speed, 3-speed, and others like this one for a 4 speed.

3 pointsI'd take a dremel with a little grinding wheel and very carefully remove some of that plastic around that broken terminal and see if you can expose enough metal to make it work. If not oh well, it doesn't work the way it is currently.
-
3 pointsOk you can dig around that rubber/plastic and expose the remnants of the terminal. If I remember right, I used a dremel tool to cut away around the terminal piece then ground the metal square and used a smaller female spade terminal to fit on the coil. I did this on a GT-14 about 10 years ago

3 pointsI feel your pain, brother. In terms of the ribs, you are worse off than I was. I knew I had at least bruised them but didn't think I'd broken any and even if I did, there's not much the doctors can do about it unless they're displaced and dangerous to the internal organs. I kept doing most of what I usually do for about 2 weeks without much pain, but then it started getting worse. Rib pain is almost gone now, but I have MUCH WORSE pain in my lower back on the opposite site. Had a CT scan today, nothing abnormal except a "Grade 1 anterolisthesis of L5 on S1 with associated bilateral pars defect." Whatever the heck that means. Well, I kinda know. But I think I strained some muscles and squeezed some nerves in there. Steroids, muscle relaxers, lidocaine patches, and I still can't find a comfortable position to sleep more than an hour or 2. I'll take the rib breaks by themselves any day. Good luck healing, Kevin. Take it easy - those tractors will wait for you.

3 pointsA valid warning that should be well heeded. I've had EXACTLY the same issue. I now stick to known name brands for ignition switches and have advised others to do so as you are today. For a Wheelhorse tractor I try VERY hard to use OEM switches ONLY. 103990 or 103991. For $20 or $25 shipped to my door... Why use anything else?
-
3 pointsOh no no no no no no no. I'm not a fan of the stark white. We're Navajo White users here. Be happy to. There's some around here somewhere. I'll get some better pics.
-
3 pointsHaven't had time to do anything really other than stripping it down.
-
2 pointsYup. Me too. Once you own a Dremel, you find ALL kinds of uses for it! They are really handy tools.
-
2 pointsThis one is a flail mower. Inside there are blades similar to this. This one is a type of brush hog. Plenty of guarding to protect you from that spinning blade out front.
