10 pointsPicked this up last night. Drove 200 miles to get it. It is thought that this tractor had been in the same family from new. Gentleman who owned it put a battery conversion on the back hitch for extra weight. All bolted on. Probably start clean up on it today. I could not find the ID sticker. So I hope it’s the real deal. 😜

8 pointsHope you find this amusing. Got the new mower deck belt in yesterday. Thank you, Wheel Horse Parts and More. Excited to get it on and make sure everything worked. I know the spindles were free. Ran out to the garage and looked at the tractor. HHHmmm. I know it goes around the pulleys in the mule driver, but how does it go on the deck? Back inside on the computer to this forum to look for the deck manual. Search, search, search. There it is. Download and open. HHmm. Front page shows 4 decks. Which one is mine. Ok, that one has 4 pulleys on top, must be mine. So that’s how the belt goes. Back to the garage. Lets get down and see whats what. Slide the belt over the mower pulleys. OK. Now to get the belt over those pulleys on the mule drive. So I push. Nope. Try again. HHmm. Don’t think this is going to work. Starting to question buying this. Maybe if I take the mule drive off. Ok. How do I take it off. This moves so I’ll push this. Nope. Try again. Nope. Pull out cell phone and google “remove WH mule drive”. Brings me back to this forum. Push rod in and pull lever forward? What lever? Hmmm. Must be this thing. Mule drive falls off missing my foot. Ok. Now maybe I can push the belt over the pulleys from the bottom. Nope. Try again. Nope. Maybe I can roll it in from the side. Seems to be working, but nope. Maybe if I use a screwdriver to push it. Nah, don’t want to damage the belt. Why did I buy this thing? Back to this forum. I have to take it apart!?! Ok. Grab my largest sized wrenches. Crap. Not big enough. Where’s my adjustable wrench hidden on my work bench? Found it. Whoa! That nut is tight! Grab a hammer. OK, there is goes, not so bad. Slide belt over pulleys and put mule back together. Wait. Belt slipped off! Do this 2 – 3 times and belt continues sliding off. Rethinking my purchase, hard. OK. Lets take to whole belt off and get up on my bench. Ok. Much better. Wait. Something doesn’t look right. Shouldn’t that adjustment screw go through that threaded thing? Yep. Pry bar and good to go. Now let’s get it all back together. One thing. If I ever get a tiller or other belt driven attachment, I’m buying another belt cause I ain’t fighting this everytime! Reattach mule drive. Why won’t the mule driver stay on? Hhmm. Guess I need to push that lever again. OK, back on. Install belt over PTO drive. That wasn’t bad. Let’s fire this thing up, get out in the yard and try it out. It’s dark but I don’t care at this point. Pull into drive way, engage PTO. Nothing. What the crap!?! Turn everything off and look at mower deck. Belt slipped off 2 outside pulleys. Alright, let’s see if I can pull it back on. Works on one side but other side is too tight to pull it. Once again, strongly questioning my purchase. Back to the garage. Maybe I can pry it back on. Not sure how to do this. Maybe if I drop the mower deck. Not sure how to do that either. Maybe give up and try tomorrow night. Nah. Walk back and forth a bunch. Wait. What if I turn the adjustment knob on the mule drive? Well dang, that did it. Belt now good to go. Back outside. It’s dark but I don’t care. Engage PTO and hear the mower blades whir under me. YAY! Didn’t think about the tractor lights, just dropped the deck and mowed a little in the front yard. So glad I bought this tractor!! Can’t wait to get it in the garden.

6 pointsSome 1045 porn all cleaned up and starting the process to bring it back to original while keeping the original patina intact.

5 pointsReplaced belt on my side discharge deck and reinstalled. While I was at it I cleaned the wheels up a little bit and put the hub caps back on. My rear discharge deck really puts some grass on the leaft rear tire.. This winter I think i'm going freshen both my decks up by welding some baffles back on the RD deck and patch the holes on SD deck.

5 pointsHey guys, just wanted to say hello. I finally picked up a 520H after wanting one since I was a kid. Its the 1996 Anniversary model too which is the one I wanted. I quickly grabbed 2 carts, plow, and single stage blower as well. I look forward to being part of this forum and already came across a bunch of really helpful topics here. Posting some pics below

4 pointsSo here is the deal with the Lucas Red Grease... When you are changing the seal or the needle bearing on the PTO bell....be sure to use Lucas on the bearing after it is installed, or if not replacing it.....clean it out completely with carb cleaner, or brake cleaner. Be sure to clean it thouroughly...then use just enough Lucas to lubricate it , press it in with your fingers...and work it in slowly and do not over lube that bearing as the grease can sling / seep out...then trash the clutch disc. That bearing sees alot of heat and use, the Lucas Red extreme pressure / heat grease is the perfect application. Use it on Mule drive bearings ,,, It is a must for mower deck spindle bearings. The motto is.,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Oil it...Dont spoil it.. Pete likes to say keep it greasy JOHN

4 pointsSavor the small victories ... a good day is a day with some "seat time" - clean the clippings off under the deck when done - helps prevent rot-out caused by wet grass ....

3 pointsHi. Looks like you are missing a bolt (one of four) holding on the bull gear to the differential housing. If it is floating around in your trans, that could be what broke off all of your teeth on the pinions in the differential. Contact one of our vendors like Lincoln at A-Z Tractors. Look in vendor section on main page. Take some good pictures of all of your gears in there and show us. We can see if anything else is bad. If you need to replace any bearings, our vendor Lowell at WheelHorse Parts & More has them and seals and side gaskets. Use 90wt gear oil (approx 2qts) to fill trans. Your transmission is a 5010 Wheel Horse with some obvious modifications. You also have the new differential (separate bull gear bolted to differential housing). In the picture below...notice the pinions are up and then down and then up and then down,,,it is important to have them the way they are now so the bolt (holding the bull gear) does not interfere with the teeth of the pinion gears. The top pinion in picture is missing the teeth on the right end...just so you know. In other words, it those pinions were flopped, you would not be able to get that bolt in...teeth would be in the way. Obviously, we want to see what those axles are all about and what they used for the axle gear (the gear on the end of your axles that turns the differential pinions. One other thing...I think your pinions have 11 teeth (the 5010 trans). The two piece 5025 Wheel Horse transmission differential pinions have 12 teeth. The 12 tooth pinions will work in your trans, but you need all 4. You can't mix them, need 4 of the same. Good to know, if Lincoln does not have any 11 tooth pinions.

3 pointsI seen that on FB but at the moment didn’t have the funds to pick it up. That would have finished the trifecta as I already have a 1055 and 1075 . Glad to see it found a good home and shortly I’m hoping my collection will find some new owners too . I keep saying it , I just really need some help digging everything things out for sorting and pictures .

3 pointsWord to the wise. If you check Facebook marketplace be sure to check the ads out good. Had I not clicked on this ad I’d a never known. 1045 was not in the title or description. One side pic revealed the 1045 decal. Luckily for me the guy selling it was doing for the owner who was away and knew nothing about Wheel Horses. I got lucky AF.

3 pointsWith any electrical problem the first thing you should do clean and tighten ALL electrical connections including grounds. A corroded connection can and will cause a voltage drop across the connection. How long has this low voltage reading been going on? What changes or repair attempts have been made since you noticed the problem? If you will give us the model and year of your that would be helpful. You say it will blow a fuse after a while and then won't start, If the fuse is replaced will the engine start then? Don't run out and buy a regulator or any other part until we can track down the actual problem and correct it.

3 pointsTo true. I've had a couple of exciting moments with bulls. While we were herding him to where he should have been, I made sure I had an escape route just in case.
-
3 pointsGood thing that she did not have a bad encounter with the bull. Some may say that their bull is friendly. I say "A friendly bull is the most dangerous". Why? Because you tend to let your guard down around a friendly bull. That's when he will take his chance at you.

3 pointsThe P-up was a little too slow for show riding and driving to my tree stand. So I replaced the 6" tranny pulley with a 3". She's 2-3 times faster now.

2 pointsSWMBO returned from brambling, (Picking wild black berries.) and as she walked in said, "There's one of Kenneth's cows loose". "Big black and white one". So off I went to have a look and go to the farm and let them know. I could see no sign of the cow up either of the lanes so walked round to the farm. BTW it was milking time. As I walked into the yard there stood the cow. The rest of the herd were in the holding yard. They have just got two Kelpie pups and one was at the milking parlour door and came to greet me, so I gave the cow hardly a glance. Unable to get into the parlour due to it being full of cows being miked, I went and joined the pup at the door. It was while pup and I getting better acquainted the cow came closer. Mmmm! Eventually the farmers son came out and we got the cow back with the herd in the holding yard. Back home Carol's face was picture when I told her it was really a BULL that she'd met.
