This 420-LSE #99 was purchased brand new by me in 2017 from Lee’s outdoor power equipment in New Haven, Indiana. I then had some things in life pop up in life l, and had to sell it tossed collector out of Augusta, Georgia which then made me start this n.o.s 420 before he would buy it 😬 . (Only has a few hours till this day ) After the sale John and I became very good friends and always stayed in touch . He called and was excited about having his name engraved in the plaque as he cherished it . We had a little laughing ongoing joke (keep me on the Will to buy all the machines back someday) Fast forward a few years I get a call on a Monday saying Jason I’m heading to the hospital Thursday for a procedure . If you have interest in my tractors maybe you can come down . I book a diesel pickup and car trailer and off i went Tuesday morning 14 hours straight there . We spent the day together talking tractors . John says I’d rather you get these machines and either enjoy them or find them the proper homes than them go to auction and be a burden on my wife . So we came to a deal shook hands and off I went 14 hours straight back to Connecticut . I ended up getting talked into a trade I couldn’t say no to and off it goes to Ohio in 2020 🤦🏻‍♂️. 2 weeks after that I get the dreadful call no one wants john had passed . I start to save my Pennies up and have been after it since and last night was the night Corey had delivered it it back with the same hours in the same condition to me . I couldn’t be more thankful that he understood it had some meaning to me . The senior has also been put in the best forever home with the one and only @AMC RULES ! Always happy to see him riding it at the meet and greet . 2BC3521A-0E10-425D-A47D-851E87DF83D0.MOV 37A74BD4-A607-4BAC-8051-92B8D27884C3.MOV

3-jaw pullers will LIKELY break the engine V-pulley. This is the correct way to remove the V-Pulley, and ...in this case...a stuck Bearing Race. My Pneumatic Impact Wrench struggled some, but it did get the Race and Pulley off of the K301s Crankshaft ...without damage. In the video, I should have used my third hand to wedge the puller from spinning...but... 014.AVI

well guys I did it again as another horse in the sable ;I think I need to see a doctor as I can not stop this habit of having the horses ; the other day searching though the market place here in the Springfield Mo area a seller had a wheel horse listed for 150.00 so as with most collectors I jumped on it; it seems that he did have a buyer but he backed out ; odd really as a horse is a horse no matter the condition and this one really isn't that bad; yes it needs a little loving care like most 'so today I took the long 1 hour drive to check it out; yes it needs a seat plus a few more minor things but I thought for the price it was worth it; it needs a head gasket which is no big deal plus a fuel filter and a carb gasket which was ordered to day ;the filter is on plus the gasket for the carb 'the tires are all in good condition it has the electric clutch which works plus the breaker-less -ignition which has power but with the battery being so low it would beardly turn over but again there is power there' it is a 1970 elector 12 horse ;the model is 1-7255 tomorrow with a good battery I need to cross my fingers and hope it starts ;the deck is in good shape as it needs a good cleaning plus I will need to find the air filter cover 'so now I have one for each day but Sunday as that is a day of rest

I purchased the Mighty Conrad Weiser Wheel Horse from my son's marching band when they decided it was no longer suiting their needs. My beautiful wife's first question was "What are you going to do with that?". A few weeks ago, our water heater, that was only 15 years old, burst and I replaced it. After draining the old water heater, it still weighed 180 lbs and was in the basement. We strapped it to a handcart and tried dragging it up the 15 steps of the casement stairs, but were unable. Me, being a thinking man, tied several lengths of parachute cord to the handcart and the other end to the back of the Wheel Horse. With my youngest son at the wheel, the water heater didn't stand a chance. Now the Mrs no longer asks what I am going to do with "that"

I finally put my circuitry to give me clean 12VDC in a box and mounted it in the mighty Conrad Wieser Wheel Horse. Then we got the LED tail lights installed/hooked up with a fancy new headlight switch that my helper picked out. My helper even took me on a test drive. He told me to sit in the wagon so that I could admire the new tail lights as we drive around the neighborhood Next step... Add LED light strips under the frame that are controlled by my phone and music.

I just designed and 3D printed a jig to drill straight and centered billiard balls to use on my shifters. As soon as Amazon gets my 3/8-16 rivet nuts to me, I will drill a #2 and #4 ball for the Might Conrad Weiser Wheel Horse. Along with the LED lights my son and have been adding, this will be the most pimped out tractor on the whole street

Do yourself a big favor and headache reducer by getting a C-141 manual on Red Square Wheel Horse Forum in the manuals section for starts! You can make a small donation to Red Square to keep this site going too! The C-141. Even with the shaker motor frame plate is a very good tractor! The 14 HP Kohler K motor is a great one! The 1970s A, B, C, D models were designed just before the Pond family sold Wheel Horse. They were great but the B and C models were probably the best ! lots of them still around and lots of attachments, parts and know how about them from members of Red Square. You bought a great garden tractor !

I’m a volunteer firefighter for well over 30 years, so when we travel I’ll try to find the local firehouse and ask those guys where they eat? I’ve yet to be steered wrong!

Hi Everyone - New owner to a 1940(?) C-141 Wheel Horse I picked up at auction. Opinions? Tips? Things I should know? Thanks!

You can check with the people in our vendor section for parts. Or you can post an ad in the classified section for the parts you need. You can also check on eBay or possibly even buy another tractor that might have all the parts you need, cheaper than buying individual parts.

Glad Cas has you covered on this problem. I have used multiple applications of wood Gel Stains to fill shallow scratches but having gone into the wood is quite another story. Looking forward to the video on the melting lacquer sticks from @formariz. You could try sanding to feather out the edges where the finish has lifted then give the whole top a light sanding and follow up with a good restoration finish. The illustration on the can is a bit misleading, without some sanding and blending nothing is going to hide a mark like that. I have used this one with success.

Not the first time and it won't be the last. Seems some sellers don't bother to do their homework. Everybody knows that this is what a 1940 Wheel Horse looks like! 1979 was a transition year for the "C" series so I have attached both owner manuals.

Don’t sell it again!! You have had many really nice machines over the years but the 420 is the right machine for you. Ride it don’t just polish it 🤪

Fitz: I would look in our manual section when you find the year. This site has just everything you need to know about this tractor from the front axle to the hitch pin. Good luck. Kepp us informed.

It was a “sight unseen” - I pick up on Sunday. It was through a reputable auction website that stated it runs and drives. The auction website isn’t one that allows for visits before bids so - we will see. I will keep the forum updated and will be more involved. Thanks! Excited to check it out!

I PMed you Jim. I'll send the arm, shaft, pulley everything. Your choice of color.... patinaed or patinaed.... Be advised tho I may have to hold it ransome for of your project. We do like our 855s here. Picked this one up from @cschannuth last year. All original unmolested and runs like the day it was new. Then again what vintage model do we not like around here.... 1045 helping roast some corn. 🌽.

There were definitely changes, but Toro stuck with the original designs and quality pretty well. Running gear and transmission are the same as before. This one looks like it was well used (heavily worn front tires; crunched seat) but stored in shelter (little rust)--that's good. i suspect you might find more than the engine missing but it looks pretty complete. This model should have an hours meter which is mostly relevant for the engine but also indicates the amount of use overall. I'd want to know why the engine is gone. Also take a close look at the deck (top and bottom) for rust through or other damage like bent or chipped blades or a bent pulley and spin the blades to check the condition of the spindle bearings (assuming mowing is a use you are planning). Also check the deck lift operation.

8 more loads of dirt, tall fescue grass seed... I am rather pleased with the outcome... Tylenol is not helping my lower back... And... with a couple more hours, I managed to get out the mowing crew and do a little mowing... Don

    Cat

Tonight right before it was getting dark, I saw him. He ran fast through the flowers then under the deck. I tried calling his name and shake the food dish to coax him out with no luck. I sat on the bench quietly but still no luck. I think the other cats hanging around keeps him scared. Plus he is still probably mad at me. At least I know he is ok.
