5 pointsGot 3 of the 4 "kids" out for some sunshine and fresh air today. B-100 is still on blocks in the garage.... Hoping to get a stack (or 2?) on the GT maybe over the winter, and repair the hood.... hopefully by then the 416-8 will be sold.

5 pointsLowering air in the front tires and rising the height of the hitch also helps a lot! Firestone 23-degree AG tires would help too. Neat advertisement but notice they did have a mower deck which did help the distance numbers too. Wheel Horse did make factory kit to build a pullin' type tractor, oh yes these are very rare, check back through the old issue of Lawn and Garden Tractor Magazine and find the article I wrote about one of the only known pullin' kit tractors that still had it's original VIN data tag. 4 pointsPicked up a mechanically solid 74 C160 hydro this weekend. It belonged to the owner of the first Wheel Horse dealership that I bought out a few years ago; I've had my eye on it for 2 or 3 years and the owners widow finally realized it was time to let it go. It had a " restoration / quickie paint job " done to it about 20 years ago. It is in great shape mechanically, electrical is un-butchered, everything works as it should, just needs taken apart and redone properly . Has the good cast iron pulleys hanging on the mule drive. Sometime down the road.......

4 pointsto the Jake. The TORO vertical engine 200 series are a riding lawn mower. A much lower quality of construction than the Wheel Horse horizontal engine garden tractors. At $251 for a new steering shaft from TORO, hopefully you can find a good used one from A to Z. You may want to search for an entire parts tractor that can sometimes be bought for less than a single part. Good luck

4 pointsUnfortunately your 211 is a later model and Toro began to skimp on the quality that Wheel Horse was known for. The steering components do tend to have some weakness. These are both good reputable dealers.

3 pointsI cut down the shifters and steering shaft today. I also cleaned up all the sheet metal and cleared some of it. Now to figure out a foot throttle for it. Also had to install a few new nut serts where the originals were missing

3 pointsI know the tractor wasn't' a Wheel Horse. I purchased it not even knowing what it was. I was very proud of how that one came out. That Lambert pushed me and challenged me every step of the way. I was in over my head on that one but again, proud of how it came out. I don't know if any of you remember but after it was finished someone came over to purchase a Cub Cadet I had done. During his test drive of the Cub he managed to smash into the homemade tractor I had and t-boned into the Lambert and almost push it through my neighbors fence. So I got to fix it up AGAIN. He left without purchasing the Cub. So now I don't offer test drives. Lesson learned. Glad no one was hurt and the Lambert was repaired. I sold the Lambert and the homemade to guy who truely loved them. They were hard to part with but went to good home.

3 points@Ashton Vancoutren nice find! My 502 is my first and personal favorite of my collection. I went with a K-181T with a slight belt guard modification to the engine tab. It fits great and works great too!

3 points97โ is the last year for the 520H. It has a swept axle and gear reduction steering. Many want this option. Some steering setups are considerably worn while some are perfect. The engine is not worth repairing. However, it is good for parts. Muffler, carb, intake, stator, coil, ignition pickup module, etc, are all desired by many to keep their engines running. The 60โ deck and mule drive are worth some money but if spindles are damaged, itโs difficult to repair or replace. The plow is also a nice option but it depends on condition and if all parts to use it are with it Essentially, you are offering a roller tractor with a deck and plow. Finally, the cost of fuel, trailer expenses, and time are considered in. On average, it costs me $100-$200 to pickup a tractor. Thatโs just my costs and no time considered. That being said, I would think $300 - $400 is fair. Taking the time to part out will net you more but again, that takes time, tools, and knowledge.

3 pointsYes the tractor is a 1962 model 502, which used a recoil start Tecumseh engine. OK it does have a battery box BUT the box is a toolbox. When Wheel Horse made the battery retainer bracket for the early round hood models the bracket was welded in place to the frame so if the model was a recoil start version, they added a small metal box to fit in and helped sell the tractor by not leaving an unknown part on the tractor ..... it gave the bracket a purpose! The note showing it was a model 502 was the ON/OFF switch on the dash, the recoil start Tecumseh grounded out the ignition where as a model 552 or 702 with electric start used a key type of ignition switch. 2 pointsSWMBO bought this mini camper van on Thursday. Not bad for 23yrs old. 1.3 petrol engine. 5sp box. Some bits and pieces to attend to in due course, but nothing serious. Interior is immaculate. As it's her birthday in a few days, I spent today sprucing up the dull paint work. Looks quite tidy now. On her birthday I'll give her a hamper and a road map.

2 points@Thompson1276 worked in a very macho shop , typically lots of related workers , millwrights , pipefitters / welders , electronic techs , instrument techs, would scoff at any available protection offered . just did not make sense to me , you could see and smell the environment you were entering, yet the macho way was to tough it out . always had a dust mask in my hard hat webbing, always had ear plugs or available, or " ear muffs " in a high , intense level situation . and would not hesitate to suit up to the next stage if needed . even today , always have the push in earplugs in my pocket , very simple shut down to any confining noise situation . just my own experience , but when you can see your air intake , protect yourself, been there , pete

2 pointsTJ, you are an ambitious young man. I have never had any experience with a D-250 and know that parts are scarcer than hen's teeth. To me it seems like the D-250 would be money pit and your results wouldn't be worth the effort. Pullers like @fast88pu stick with the gear jammer conventional platform for a reason, it is tough as nails and parts are readily available if something goes wrong. If you do attempt to build up a D-250 puller we will all be interested in the results, post plenty of .

2 pointsPicked up the plow the other day it came with a C-125 it's rough has more safety features than I'd like... which maybe the route cause of no spark. Going to be looking through the manual at the wiring diagram soon to remove said safety features. If it runs nice I may fix it up but I may just end up parting out no a big fan of the plastic fenders, and i want to get a manual trans too. This c-125 has a BAD left side axle seal been leaking a loooong time. Who knows my wife might like it then she can clear the side walk of snow ๐๐

2 pointsUnleaded gasoline came out in 1973 and was even called synthetic type gas by the media. Stelite valves and hardened valve seats is what it took to run the unleaded gas ..... dang I remember when Sunoco 260 came out of the pumps RED, now that was good leaded gas. Wild Bill in Richmond VA

2 pointsWent out for a bit more this evening. Got the utility trailer hitched up to the Kia Soul Beast and loaded for a dump trip tomorrow morning. We staked and measured out a final location for where the new building will set. Been mulling that over for weeks. Finally came up with a location that points the back towards our own woods and gives enough clearance all the way around the building for construction machinery and our own usage after the build. Probably another 10 small trees to cut sometime if we get time before the excavator guy shows up. Otherwise they can do it just fine. I'll try to remember to get pics tomorrow and post them in that thread. Trina and her mom finished up their day by re-decking the wooden bridge that goes into the garden area. Gotta say..... Excellent work on their part. It's rock solid. There's a step part way down. We'll mark that with yellow paint (?). MUCH better for foot traffic of the wedding guests.

2 pointsI got my new clutch plate for the 718-z from K and B Horse parts. Part was much better than others I had found. I think previous owners got all the life out of the clutch, metal to metal and starting to grind clutch mounting bolts. Much better engagement of blades now. Did some cleaning, greasing and oiling. While it was apart, I finished adding alternator as well.

2 pointsTrina and her mom have been working on making a nice cleared area in the forest path for her daughter's wedding coming up here in 2 weeks. She made an arch for the bride and groom to stand in/under for the vows ceremony. After the vows the whole shebang moves down by the garden area where Trina's been working on clearing and flattening the ground. We'll have 2 pop-up tents that are 10 x 30 each with tarps on the ground as "flooring". I started out the morning working on clearing a new place for the Wheelhorses-in-progress and parts pile. The old line is in the way of the new building excavation area. After about 45 minutes to an hour I got in a match with some small ground yellow jackets. At first it was bees, 6. Me 2. I got stung at least 6 times but I killed 2 of the jerks. Well after the Trina put some stung stuff and baking soda paste on I went back out... Armed with 3 cans of brake cleaner. I done commenced to nest wide elimination. I covered the hole with a rock and sprayed a healthy dose down it. Then just set and waited for returning jerks ๐ to spray them. Within the first ยฝ hour I killed over 40 of them. Throughout the rest of today my ๐ death count is some over 50 total.

2 pointsI grabbed the bearings today for the other front wheel. Also grabbed the fittings for the gas tank. Then mounted the wheel, gas tank and engine.

2 pointsMy 1257 has one, basically the same as Charger 12. Basically its 2 plates, 1 on each side bolted to the frame, then has the rods and stuff in the middle with the spring, etc. I lucked out and found a nos one about 4 years back.

1 pointMight I ask what model Wheel Horse you plan to use these on and who told you a 1533 won't work. If they are for a 1984 or older Uni-drive manual transmission you need the 1533, later models use the 111199. May want to check out a SFK 6008 bearing, same size as the 111199 and a whole lot less money

1 pointNew compartments for second lid made. Only now need to make some dividers for chisels and hold downs for braces . Most frequently used tools will be on this lid such as chisels screwdrivers , etc. First lid will have a couple of most frequently used handsaws.
