The Trina person spent some time in the new garden area this evening spreading a pile o loam out. This was all done with her 867 Pigpen tractor and the mid mount grader blade.

That grader and roller were my favs too..... Genny repair under the big top & Joel picking his rear.... Yah she knows yer pits stink Kev.....poor girl has to live with that! Chris Hill's show custom... 'nother fine example of hydro dipping.... I don't remember his handle here....

Im still alive and kickin, but life has taken a bit of priority over the stables lately, but incase anyone wonders: Lil booger 655 went to a new home, since selling the little ladys place there was no need for the lil guy anymore. 'Lawn duty' K341 swapped 1277 just keeps on ticking on the 1.2 acres and even gets a little cruise here and there. Hoss is, well, Hoss- he's dragging the plow, scrape blade, push blade and whatever else I want to throw at him, and looking good doing it. Thats the one I built the big valve K321 for. Ol Smoky 701 is just too tired to do well anymore and is in the shop, about to get an engine overhaul. Rescued a real messy late 80s 520H, got it up and running/driving and its going to a new home this week for a quick flip and profit. Ah, and the ol B-1 bomber off roader- finished up that big cammed, billet filled 20.5 Briggs pressure lube oppy and it is an absolute animal! It continues to take me on adventures with zero issues. Oh, and yeah, theres that orange thing in one of the pics. I had to have just one, always liked the looks of them. Only took about 5 minutes of tinkering on it to realize they are a heckuva machine but nowheres near as simple as a Horse! How have you all been? Whacha's got in the stables these days? -Green

I bought a can about a decade ago and have used it exactly twice. Still liquid though. It's this one, and cheaper than the blue can: This one is flammable, I think the blue can said NOT flammable, if that matters to you. I think flammable stuff always works better! Fire is cool... Gimmee FUEL, gimmee FIRE, gimmee that which I desire!

Anything is possible. I have a Haban from a Bolens on my GT14. I had to build all the mounting brackets for it. There is a build thread on it here somewhere.

Just picked up this rare 69 workhorse 700 for $200. The seller said it ran real good & sure enough it did! Tires look new too & it came with a plow . I think I did pretty good on this one ! A couple things I noticed , the engine may or may not be original, no key start, but the key does shut it off , the exhaust is venting under the hood, which I guess is the oem design & the drive belt seems a little loose

The case breather only allows air out of the case. A check valve in there stops air from going in. Any dust dirt and grime going into your engine case is going to come from the carb and get caught in the oil. Change your oil. The case breather is not a routine maintenance item but you can remove it and wash it out with solvent or gas. A clogged breather will cause excessive case pressure and a typical indication it's clogged on a Kohler is that the excess pressure will push oil out of the governor shaft. Worn rings can cause excessive case pressure too and therefore push more air out of the case breather. Your engine looks typical of any worker tractor and the perfectly clean ones you see are trailer queens or someone that cleans their tractor engine more often.

Hey all, my new project is finished! I have combined a 418-A and 520-H together to make a 518-H. I put the Kohler Magnum 18 engine and the Eaton 1100 transaxle from a 418 on to a 1995 520-H frame. The Onan had a bad valve seat and the 418 frame was cracked and the part where the seat pan/gas tank is bolted down was messed up as well. The frame was in immaculate shape. I intend on repainting a few things such as the hood and rear rims but this is what I have so far... this will make a great machine for my 2-stage snowblower. I will also be getting custom decals to tie it all together!

Me n the BBT are doin' well also. Currently sitting at 12 tractors. Three for her. Same mid 60s she's had. Seven for me. 5 C160s now! An Ariens S16H. The Colossus project is on hold til late fall or whatever. Couple projects for someone else. 417As Garden is in. Her daughter gets married in 3 weeks. Our new building project is still floating along in the works... All good so far.

Well, since you ask... The old L-157 with 51 HP Duromax... 800 Special... completely restored... and powered with a 25 horsepower fully custom built Tillotson 9,000 RPM beast... And lastly, my 416-8 which I literally just "finished" ...engine completely rebuilt, all new wiring, completely rebuilt tractor. I got this tractor for free from @davem1111... Don

In actual math you're correct. Tire actual sizes however vary. A LOT. IMHO... Stick to the Carlisle. I have a set of Trupower with a wheel edge bead protector. Those are commercial grade and rugged. They make other AG tires as well. Avoid Deestones because of the sizing issues. Some of the tires on Simpletire.com have actual sizes listed. I'm not a fan of the look of round edge ATV tires on a tractor and I do believe they lack stability. I can't speak for a 10.5 being able to fit in your later model. I agree with that except for this: Multiple places of air already escaping means the entire structure of the tire is at its failure point. I can see saving a set of original WH tires for a show cruiser that way but NOT on a worker.

I can't believe this but I just committed to buying a second 520H package with blower, cab, weights and chains, mower etc.. Now I will have 2 exact setups + my Bolens GT2000 loader... I know that I will keep one of the 520's but may be selling on complete totally awesome package.. just couldn't let it go to the barn and rot.. and it is garage kept and appears to be in great condition... more to come..

James, the cylinders are double acting so they will be full of fluid at all times regardless of position. While one end of the cylinder ends is being filled under pressure the fluid from the other end is being pushed back to the reservoir. Replacing the fluid in the reservoir would be a good idea and then replacing it again after running the loader for a while.

Earlier this summer we were sitting on the back patio enjoying adult beverages and watching the tree rats raiding the bird feeders. Alla sudden, out of the shrubberies comes a Red Fox on the run, grabs one of the tree rats just like in your pic and trotted off toward the tree line. It was pretty cool to see this up close and personal. I don't think the fox knew we were there, and even if he did, he was more hungry than he was wary of us. It was only about 20 feet away.

Well not quit a pet but he keeps the tree rat population down. 😂

Guys I musta hit my head because I’ve been talking to @Johndeereelfman on his green site. My cousin wants to sell his 63 JD110 all original with one really old repaint. No cracks anywhere in the fiberglass., nice grill , correct tires owners manual and original bill of sale . He owned his own body shop and I’m trying to convince him to redo it for next year’s show so we have a excuse to go .

Marvel Mystery Oil is another possibility for rust treatment. By the way, please be careful with the rags you use to apply the boiled linseed oil with. A rag soaked with linseed oil will self combust if wadded up and left. Does not take long, either. I left one wadded up and sitting for about 15 minutes. When I went back to apply more linseed oil to my work piece, it was uncomfortly hot to the touch.

I like the stack on that tractor. I picked up a (so far, non-running) 1976 B-100 not long ago that I hope to get working on this fall/winter. Looks like the same deck only mine is in worse shape. I have the 10hp engine on there though. Good luck, and welcome!

Be CAREFUL with any 2 part paints - a GOOD respirator must be used as that stuff in the air is lethal. If you wish to see your unborn grandkids - don't just use a dust mask. BTW - how many body shop guys you know that lived to retire?? That is a rather exclusive club... Bill (a former spray painter and can still talk about it...)

I have Deestone tires. They run small. 10.5 will be closer to 8.5 wide all day long. I’d try tubing the old ones… they are generally harder rubber…

That Trina person sure does nice work. Around my house I blame that on the equipment, unless of course mine's listening

I had an on again off again love affair with my forward swept axle. I tried to make her happy by putting her on my C-165, not once but twice. Yeah she made my tractor look sexy but the couple extra inches made her hard to park in my garage with the two cars. Putting the axle back in storage would have been cruel. She needed to be free and I needed the cash. But I kept the wide wheels and tires from the 520. Your tractors look good, and if I still had the axle it would go on for a third time.
