I donate blood as regular as possible. I’ve got a rare RO attribute to my A+ (I think) blood type, that makes my red blood cells very useful for special needs in the hospitals. Today at 1, I’ll be getting stuck and hooked on to the double red machine. It takes blood, then pumps me with saline, then takes more blood, usually about three draws. The saline being room temp drops my body core temp pretty much every time. It’s a weird feeling, but I’d rather be on that end of a needle than the receiving end any day! So. Lately I’ve been on a chicken and waffles kick. I never figured I’d like it, but I do! I’ve been talking about making some spicy pancakes for a couple years and this last weekend, Rylee did that for me. Some hot sauce in the batter, then crushed red pepper on top, with some maple syrup to bring on the sweet. Well, yesterday I smoked some chicken breasts and they were amazing. So, spicy pancakes and smoked chicken is the closest I can get today to chicken and waffles! If you need me, I’ll be over here making some mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sounds for the next few moments!

I went and got myself educated but still have the knuckle scars to prove my lineage. I have been underway on both nuclear and diesel power. As for the color, she ain't nothing but a blur to bystanders when riding along in 3rd gear and the Kohler powerhouse at full throttle. I'm not bragging, but the local police clocked me at 6 mph. Red, blue, at those speeds, it doesn't matter

Saw this at the Ossipee Valley Fair the other day. Figured some o you would get a kick out of it.

Heims joints is the way to go. They are not the cheapest but will last longer than any ball type. I installed as set on my C-120 in 1989 and they are still tight no excessive play.. I use 1/2" heims joints and to keep fr0m having to drill out the steering triangle I bushed them down to 3/8". When I got my 520 I used two heims joint and the bushing on it. I bought 4 heims joint with the treaded 1/2 stud a drilled and trapped the arm on the spindles and used a jam nut below.

So couple years ago I purchased 2 Wheel Horses from a guy. He had them " stored " outside in the woods. I couldn't stand to see them just rot away. We dragged them out and loaded them on a trailer and I brought them home. One was a 500 Special the other was an 856. The 856 was really in bad shape. I decided it would be yard art and I would work on the 500 Special. Didn't take much to bring it back. Came out nice and I sold it along with a Lawn Ranger I had to a collector. So for a year I sat and looked at the 856 parked in my yard. Finally I said why not let's see if it could be saved. Well here it is. Just drove it up and down my street for 45 minutes. Runs terrific. I am so surprised that it runs and drives as smooth as it does. Sat 20 plus years outside. Wheels half way buried in the dirt. Weeds and trees growing through it. Truly " "FORSAKEN". Well now it's finished. Left it rough but with a little rat rod flare. I might change the tires and wheels but that's all that's left to do. Is it perfect ?? No. Does it have a good story ? Yes.

My brother and his family lost everything to a fire 10 years ago. I know what he went through trying to rebuild his life. A few sheets of paper is the least I can do to help someone in a similar situation.

Hahaha! I didn't know there was such a thing as this but Wednesdays look like they are a good way to get over the hump even thought it's still just another Monday by my watch... I don't have a lot to offer from my small stable but if I ever make it to the big show maybe I'll have a couple stories to share over a pop or two

@subvet720 Don't mind what @WHX?? typed his job was to wash the windows on the outside of the sub when it was under way . He does a great bed pan on the head dance. There are pictures.

Still working on filling the two lids with tools as I think of which ones to use. Basic idea on the lids is to have all of the necessary tools to perform most tasks without having to go into the well of chest. Rather than just randomly “throw “ tools into it, for the majority of them they are given dedicated secure places conveniently placed according to the frequency of use. Although I will be working out of this chest , in the very least it already has a destiny for the next two generations . At the completion of its furnishings , placed in it , there will be an inventory of every single tool present ,along with how they came to me since a lot of them were given to me by individuals who had a great influence in my work and life.

An old saying of mine is "A mechanic doesn't sleep till he hears it run", meaning as once you put the work into a project, you're not satisfied till you know it's right and running! After dinner tonight thoughts of that old Clinton 3.6hp just sitting on my work bench and I just had to know does it still run. It took Kaeden and I to get from the work bench to a stand outside, it had to be lifted over 3 Wheel Horses and I had to be careful not to knock that old 2 x 4 manifold off the bench too. (Anybody care to take a guess what that dual quad set up is for?) WE didn't have much gas in the can (remints from the Cruise Night at the show) but we put some in a fuel tank that was laying around. The engine on/off toggle switch wasn't marked which way was on, so I pulled the plug and cleaned it and gave the recoil a pull ...... Hey I got spark .... and after 15 or so years that ain't bad. With the little bit gas and shot of either that old Clinton came to life. Oh and yes I did check the oil and lubed up the Schnacke recoil. I took a picture of the red Wheel Horse paint that was still on the air filter hold down bolt. Now keep in mind Kohler, Clinton and Tecumseh/Lauson would paint their engines before shipping them to Wheel Horse in South Bend, IN and this why you get different colored engines from the frame. Just finished a little gadget to tie into the headlight circuit on my 310-8. A bridge rectifier converts the AC to DC (12-25VDC) and buck converter dials the DC in at 12VDC using the potentiometer on the board. With the light load the LEDS provide, I will be able to run bunches of addressable LEDs from my phone. Parts: LM2596 DC-DC Buck Converter - $3 on the Amazon (Thanks Jeff Bezos!) GBPC25005 Bridge Rectifier (or similar) - $3 on the Amazon (Thanks again Jeff!) By doing this, I eliminate flickering LEDs if they are run on AC and no need for an extra battery strapped on the mighty Conrad Weiser Marching Band Wheel Horse.

That ain't nothing EB. I got the flame & a 1055 pullied for about 10 So when I see 'vet's flashing lights behind me, I think it's a cop, I can make a getaway. One of my favs.... EB you are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Way to go Kevin! Thanks for the reminder to go give blood again too. Sad to say it's been a while. They used to have a frequent blood drive down the road but they stopped for some reason. Not sure if it's a proven medical fact or not but I used to feel better health wise after regular oil changes when we used to donate more often. I think it's good for the body to make and have new blood. Maybe it was just psychological but either way it doesn't matter.

We had blood drives at the hospital all the time. They would set up in the conference room and hall outside of the cafeteria. Through the fire door was another hall and the boiler room. Imagine the chaos that ensued one day in the middle of their drive when a hand hole cover blew out on a 100HP Cleaver Brooks boiler with 65 psi of steam!

Years ago I worked at a place that participated in a blood donation program. A few of us toolmakers would drive to the donation place, then make a pit stop on the way back for a cold one, talk about a cheap drunk!

Addressable LEDs have an IC with each LED that allows each one to be controlled independently. Using a microprocessor, Arduino Nano in my case, you can put on a really nice light show. Thanks to our Chinese friends, all of the components are very inexpensive.

Ya know, you really have not solved the problem unless you can remove your solution and re-create it. At least that is what the corporate QA statistical problem solver gurus claim. Me, I tend more towards if it is fixed, quit messing with it and document what your fix was in case the problem shows up again.

I had decided yesterday it would be the Cinnamon Horse C160-8 that attended The Owl's Head Transportation Museum annual Truck And Tractor Show this year. I stopped on the way home to pick up a pair of tubes for the front tires I thought I had. I say it that way because when I got home I found that they were a fair mile narrower than I'd hoped. Well... That's what I have to use so that's what we went with. They're Carlisle of some sort but the tread is a FULL inch narrower than another Carlisle here. That's less than desirable because the wheels I have are a FULL inch wiiiiider than I remembered. 😂 Well I got them all mounted up with the standard amount of sweat and "sentence enhancers". The new BBT helped me remove the Mackissic chipper shredder and swap all four wheels and tires. Here's some before and after etc.....

You sure you wasn't an ET? Never knew a knuckle draggin torpedoman was versed in electronics... not in my day anyway. I'm with 953 nut but he was a ET. What was that joke? I'd rather have a sister in a brothel than a brother as An ET?!? I have not had flickering problems on any of my led swap outs on tractors with that style of lights. Plenty on my vintage machines but good grounding cured it. Nice lookin tractor ther sub vet but on the fence about the color. Ain't that right @ebinmaine. Oh well works for you works for me!

just some morning shots , before a check over , this is my frankenhorse for all my experiments , for problem removal / upgrades , any modifications were thoroughly tried and verified as a solid fix to any related problem, lots of hours , then apply it to my other 2 horses . if I tell you a change works , it reliably does . typically , just altered the way anything was set up , or regularly failed . really don't even think about the hours, because i,m always snoopin around . jump on anything as soon as it shoes it self . greasy pete

Thanks for giving Kev. After having AML no one wants mine, but I appreciate all the blood and platelets I received the last few years. Believe me it was a lot. Just got home from Hershey Medical Center for my monthly port flush and blood test. Things still looking good......

Bravo Kev. I visited our "Bloodmobile" at work for around 40 years until the heart meds disqualified me. Mrs.K has the universal type "O". So she is donating on a regular basis.

A bunch of us used to give regularly at work - Boston Childrens Hospital used to show up with the Bloodmobile 4 times a year - until Corporate got a tad money hunger and closed our facility, sending everything off to the 4 corners of the globe into Cheap-o-nesia. Their program was called "Half Pints for Half Pints" - great folks there....

I bet it takes a MAN to steer that bad boy. Cool tractor.

I personally would not go with anything less than 3/8 rod. I cut the ends off from the stock tie rods, turn the ends down from 5/8" to 3/8" so that I can use new tie rod ends.

A smart man, never tells his wife he has a life insurance policy. Our house is a mile and a half from town having the bears around don't bother me or Pat but people in town take a different view, last year they had consecration come and set one of those bear relocation traps. Trap sat empty all the time it was in place, someone forgot to bait it.
