My wife taught in the same school and school room for over 35 years. This slave clock was there all of those years ticking away. In her last year they decided to change the system so it was removed . She asked for it and brought it home. It’s been here for quite a few years now A short time ago finally got a movement for it and it’s working again in the shop. It’s got a date inside of 1923. We are quite fond of it.

Painted the wheels on the 1045, waiting on a set of tie rods, to complete the punch list. The rest of the parts I need I'll pick up at the big show.

My grandmother had about a dozen mantel clocks, wall clocks and grandfather clocks that worked and chimed. When I was about ten years old I noticed that none of them were set to the same time so I did her a favor and set them to the correct time. A few minutes later they all began to chime simultaneously, it was defining! That is when I found out in no uncertain terms that grandma had them set differently so she could enjoy each distantly different tone.

Since we always use the shop door to go in and out of house due to its convenience she still looks at it every day. It’s like an old friend that is always there.

Hello All, I have a C160-8 that ended up with a hydro drive pulley somewhere in its past or a complete 16 out of a hydro. Well... I have a C160 Hydro with a knocking wreck of a motor and decided to pull this engine out to put in the hydro and swap a Mag 16 into the C160 at a friend's request. He wanted a C160 but doesn't like the K versus the Mag. In the past I've swapped Mags into Bs but the exhaust / muffler is too big and hood wouldn't shut. It was a pleasant surprise to see a Mag fit like a glove into a C! I'll have to measure but it's almost obvious the C hood is taller than the B. The 416-8 donor tractor was / is completly beat... the 2nd interesting event was that all I did was connect a battery, jam the fuel line into a can of fresh fuel and tickle it with carb clean. I would never stoop to placement of a BLD (bovine location device) on a . There’s enough identity and gender confusion in humans. Must we transfer that to our beloved Wheel Horses? What next? Green tractors in our garages? Oh the horror…!!! But, if I was forced to, I’d hang it on the mid mount so I could use my lift arm to bang it with the connector arm…

That school and room was my wife’s first and only job. Something that no longer happens today. We go to that area for dinner usually on Fridays. It is impressive and moving the number of people that constantly flock to her many she no longer remembers. Several times even police officers stopped their cars and came to hug her. Other times people see her sitting in the restaurant through the large glass front and come in to the table. It is nice to have made a difference in peoples lives.

This one hung in the train station in Long Branch, NJ for the longest time. It's unknown how it came to be in possession of the Treasurer's Grandfather... Still keeps perfect time, it's at the foot of the stairs. (of course, the Guardian Angel is a much more recent addition!) This one hung at my Grandfather's home until his passing... displayed with some of his other belongings. It too still keeps time but we don't keep it wound up. Then, there's this one. Yesterday I was going through some boxes that have been untouched for decades that were left when the in-laws fled to Florida. I found this cuckoo clock in one of the boxes, in it's original box. All the parts were there. The box had my MILs handwritten name and address on it. The newspapers the clock was padded with were from December 1955. Coincidentally, yesterday was the 20 year anniversary of her passing. She must have led me to that box! Cleaned and oiled the movement and it's now hanging in the Dining Room keeping perfect time.

Previous owner of My M16 just slapped a metal cover over it. note it's mounted on the fan shroud and not the fan/flywheel itself. This way the cover doesn't turn. Maybe not the most beautiful option, but I prefer it.

Hello, I just picked up a non-working Wheelhorse 310-8 from I think 1986. I've never used a riding lawnmower and got it as a project to tinker with. It was $200 and has a new carb, rebuilt starter, new battery, new front wheels, new mower blades. After cleaning out the fuel tank, replacing the cracked fuel line and put in a new clear fuel filter I got it to start today but it's running REALLY rich so i've got some carb tinkering to do. I'm going to have some more questions about this but I guess I'll keep those for the main forum. Mike oh, here are some Pic's

I built our grandsons a Lawn Ranger a few years ago so when our granddaughters came along they needed a Ranger of their own.

I just finished clearing out the scrub oak, what a PITA that stuff is. However, I did get plenty of seat time on the Kubota clearing the build site. The pad is now in with 10 loads of compacted modified. I had enough material placed for a perimeter all around the building of at least 5 feet, and enough modified in for a future concrete apron in front of the garage.

Been wondering what the best way is to mount a cowbell on a tractor. After all, if you have a Wheel Horse, you can’t have enough cowbell. Dave

I remember those slave clocks from school sometime in the Jurassic Era, the office had the master and they could never get done with playing with it. The clocks all over the building would be going around numerous times till all were synchronized. I hated that because clock watching was my favorite subject.

Oops... I think it's also important you wait for the belt to come to a stop. My raider likes to grind when I don't wait for the belt to come to a stop. It has the original belt guard and yet I have to countdown 3-5 seconds after pressing in the cltuch before I can kick it into gear without grinding. My c-141 doesn't mind it running without a belt guard. (disclaimer: it has a thinner belt) C141 first drive.mp4

The past few weekends we - replanted the raised flower beds, thatched and reseeded the lawn, swept the property, got a good tan, oh and of course gave the old girl a nice bath.

noticed a few people having diesel related starting issues, also noticed there was never a fuel holding check valve close to fuel intake stage , https://www.amazon.com/EVIL-ENERGY-Return-Petrol-Aluminium/dp/B07ZB42CGT?th=1 when working on any problem , its always a try/ test scenario. since going over to clear fuel lines , and a VERTICAL FUEL CHECK VALVE , JUST BEFORE CARB , I am looking at fuel stage verification. its right there , no guessing , would also make fuel line routing change , to make VERTICAL FUEL CHARGE , a sure thing for starting, since doing that . my starts are near instant , looking at fuel in line and pump push to carb . did all my testing / trial on the first set up . then applied the same thing to the other 2 engines , result ? constant quick starts , and no issues , just an idea , pete

I had a young village PO in uniform walk up to me and address me by name. Startled, and wondering what was up, I didn't at first recognize the grown up teenager who'd been a member of our youth group (many) years before. He wanted to thank me.

One of the guys I was on the swim team in high school went on to become a police officer. One day, I was in the next town over and suddenly saw flashing lights in my mirror. So, I pull over, wondering what the heck I did, and up walks my old swim team buddy in his sheriff department uniform to say hi.

@Manicmacanic question , did you put any hi temp grease in the pto cone , needle bearing ? bearing under quite a hot loading process. the higher the grease flash point the quieter the bearing , because the grease will stay with it . that also refers to whining mower deck and mule drive bearings . build going along well , pete

If the set screw is OK check to see if the donut is secure on the shifter. Some donuts are retained by a roll pin and if it shears the shifter gets sloppy. Others are welded.

Chest has some substantial corner protectors on bottom pretty cleverly designed since they will keep bottom of chest off floor. I had noticed that they had some inscription on the very corners as oar of casting. They are somewhat worn specially towards the bottom from the obvious reason. However I was able to take a pretty good imprint of the best one. What is in there is essentially the patent date for them. It is Oct.15.1863. Along with other features this establishes a pretty accurate date for chest’s construction making it now around 159 years old.

72034 is not a Wheel Horse paint but a PPG automotive paint color. It is available as an acrylic urethane that is available in either a single stage (paint & activator must be mixed), or a 2-stage, base-coat, clear-coat. That code is also available as an acrylic enamel. 72034 is PPG's code for Wheel Horse red. I don't think Wheel Horse ever used PPG as a paint supplier. When is comes to paint, there are too many choices. However, if you decide to use an automotive paint like PPG, invest in good breathing equipment (respirator), and ventilation. All paints will damage your lungs, and paints with hardeners or activators can kill you, or make wish you were dead due to serious COPD side effects.

Mustang and truck are all original. I get all of my car related modding fixes from the Sierra. Now, most of my garage time is actually tinkering on my Wheel Horses.

It just snaps on those 4 little buttons on the flywheel. Outside diameter is probably all you need... incase anyone else has run into this, one of those buttons was broken off of my 16magnum. I drilled a tiny hole where the button was and used a small screw, about a #4 and a washer about four years ago. Still holding....

I think keeping the tools inside and dry is the biggest factor. After I use any earth altering tool, I clean/ wash it and hang it up inside to dry… Here is a example of a ditch spade that I restored…

Finished up the power dump cart today got decals in and painted the rims. Now just got to make a tailgate someday down the road. Also got my red square stickers in and added one to my 314!

Yep old Pat in the hat can be hoot around the campfire too! Update on the tub....points spring shot & that little bit of rain got in the ignition switch and messed it up good. Took it apart just for the halibut and one of the contacts hit the floor and rolled to no man's land. In case no one's never seen the inside of one.

brake parts and drum are from mid 1930's (ford) i believe they are called wide 5 brake drums
