Brought this old girl home yesterday, found her for a dear family friend. She will spend a little time here until she & all her attachments have a clean bill of health, then off to her new home for work duty in the garden & yard.

I purchased this tractor from Bob Ellison. First of all I want to thank Bob for giving me this opportunity. After picking it up on Tuesday I knew it truly was one of his kids. Just know I will take tremendously good care of it. The machine itself looks to be in very good mechanically order. A few little knick knacks, nothing major to complete it. Gas line from tank to fuel pump leaks a bit and it sometimes slips out of neutral and surges usually in reverse. Any ideas with that will be greatly appreciated. Over all I’m tickled pink. I do plan on swapping the seat out with a WH seat of that era. Also putting a proper hitch on it to pull my chipper and trailers around.

Picked up some new Kohler and Briggs parts at the auction today. This will be coming to the Show. I ran this up, but an Amish fellow had deeper pockets. It sold for $725.

Met Don @Handy Donand his Grandson Samuel today. Got him a transaxle drive pulley for his 854, a 48" snowplow, weights and chains for his sons 310-8 , and some 36" gear drive decks so he can build one to put on the 854. He plans on being at the big show... Tony

I considered that myself, but this is how the service bulletin suggested as the fix. Today I repaired a loose steering arm with the same process. Put a newer pepper pot muffler on and that takes care of the things that needed attention. Then gave it a MMO rubdown, really improved the appearance. I replaced the seat with the style that was originally on it. Now just have to paint the wheels.

I use mine with a 42 SD on a c-141. works well for walking path maintenance and getting under low hanging stuff. Turning radius however matches the Queen Mary

Today, I replaced the axle seal & idler pulley along with put a new drive belt on my 314-8. After that I finished up running quick disconnect battery cables to the rear hitch.

It's been there. Few years ago they moved a guy because he had 4-5 tables full of stuff and stuff on the ground spewed all over which was enough room for 3 other people to set up for their multiple tractor displays. You shouldn't have a problem doing that as long as the "2 things to sell" aren't 2 truckloads of parts! LoL It is enforced to a certain degree just to try and keep the display area the display area and the vendor section in the back. They seem to understand quite a few people with displays also have some things to sell otherwise the display field would be half empty and the vendor section would be packed with displays. You can leave anything at my spot if there's an issue. Stevebo usually leaves a few things with us and some others do to. Uh Oh, now I quit! No wrenching, no drinking gas? WTF am I gonna do now?

Looks to me that the starter is turning but the belt isn’t…. Try adjusting the belt tighter! Just all I see in video…🤷🏻‍♀️

No problem using synthetic many of us use Mobil 1. Suggested filter is Wixx 51410

This works well in my case, but a much different tractor and frame. Those are steel plates approximately 3/8 thick

Any 10W-30 motor oil will be fine. I use Castrol semi-synthetic High Mileage oil and can tell a difference.

Some of the guys here report better cold weather operation with synthetic so that's what I run in my snow tractors. Not sure if it helps but can't hurt.

A 520H is a hydrostatic drive transmission. The hydraulic oil also lubricates the axles, 20w-50 is too thick for the system to work properly. The correct oil recommended by is 10w-30.

Make sure the engine turns by hand. Belt is slipping and doesn't look to be in the best shape. Generator isn't even grunting so the belt isn't gripping at all. A good belt would be Napa 25-7320 rubber raw edged cogged belt

I also would thank all, who was involved, to release us from A.H. plans. That was the main reason i can grow in Freedom. so thanks to all who‘s served. In deepest honest. It appears it be we have an idiot here close aside, that keeps us permanently reminded to that. can be compared to A.H. Because of similar mindset. Sounds like a neutral adjustment is in order and also you may want to adjust the tension on the motion control

The New Green Deal is working. Close down the oil and gas wells and fire up the nuke plants. Gotta dig my old TMI(Three Mile Island) stocks out of long term storage........I may have a windfall.

I had the same problem, but realized that a larger hole in the lower steering shaft would leave less metal at the point of contact. I had seen that later tractors have this joint welded so that became my inaugural use of my new welder. No wiggle.

We do live out of city limits a little ways. Tucked away between some farm lands and woods. The county we are in, a permit for what I am doing is just over $300. Soon, our son will start his house on the land in front of us. If they come out to survey and see that there is a barn on the property that wasn’t there and not on the books, it’s double the permit fee for working without one. So I thought I would do it the right way. If I had known over two months later I would still be waiting…… all my stuff would be under shelter already.

This is what Eaton Calls for in their manual for oils. I prefer the antiwear oil like International HyTran. Matches the application for wear/shear additives. It is 10W30 viscosity. But keep in mind, 10w-30 motor oil has worked for years.

Day #4 and my little buddy is back at it.

Both my parents served during WWII, Dad was in North Africa and later stationed in England, Mom was in the Women's Air Corps stationed in Texas.

They typically allow people to sell tractors and a few to several items along with their displays on the infield but they don't want people setting up a big shop there with tons of stuff taking up display area space, which makes sense. Otherwise all of the big vendors would be set up at the front corner entrance area near the food building where you guys set up and the displays would be scattered in the back all over the place. I can't speak for the WHCC but that's what I see every year. Pretty sure that same rule has always been there and it's not something new.

I bought one of the ‘cheepo’ ones off ‘the bay’, for my Raider 10. I am going to mill the fins down and a computer cpu heat sink, clamping the two together using the regulator mounting holes, + thermal grease between. This because these reg’s are meant to be in a forced airflow. Only costs a few £’s, so not much lost if it doesn’t work. (Pics to follow). Doug. pics as promised.

Club has a new rule this year. No for sale items in the center show area. I think attendance may be down this year and the center oval won't be as full as it is. I've set up my "hospitality tent" in the same spot the last 8 years and really don't want to move. I have only 2 things left that haven't been Pre-Sold. Might just leave them in the truck and have anyone who has already bought/ paid/ said they will take them stop by and we'll just walk out to the truck to get them.

I'm just paying forward a small portion of the stuff I've picked up on here. Tractor information of course. But all kinds of other stuff too.....

Speed limit has been in the rules for a while. Doesn't seem to slow down the kids.
