12 pointsFirst mow since getting home, the girls had it out while I was away but the engine stopped and they couldn't get it started again. Quick investigation turned up a bit of stuff in the points, quick clean and it fired up first twist of the key. Thanks @peter lena for helping sort out the electrics it's made a big difference. Lawn was wet so took the deck off afterwards and gave it a clean. Rain everyday so didn't have a lot of choice.

11 pointsI happen to have a B-100, it is a beast (as far as I am concerned). Of course, I got mine for $5.00. I bought 6 raffle tickets for the raffle tractor at the 2010 Big Show in Penn. and won that year. Here is a couple of picks...

11 pointsI will get some video once I get it started. Need to pick up a battery Still going over everything, cleaning it up , checking it out and trying to figure out how it works. I was able to rig it up to an old battery and turn it over a couple times. Yes, there's some sort of 90 degree gearbox that runs the PTO wheel. The handle on the right engages the clutch. Gearbox in the back appears to be original the wheel horse one. Took some more pics that show exhaust, gearbox, etc.. thanks for the kind words. Stay tuned, I may need some help

11 pointsAll the kids came out for a romp today. First time out this year. No jumper cables or starting fluid needed. They're not all Wheel Horse, but at least they are all red. Except for Casper of course. I left the green in the barn.

8 points200 Series can't do the job? HORSE HOCKEY!!!!! I bought a brand spankin new off of the showroom floor Toro/Wheel Horse 210-H With a 10 HP Briggsy and 36" SD deck. Found a RD deck for it later. Also got the snowplow and chains for the puny wheels. Thing cut great. My wife taught piano and I had to plow where the state highway filled in with snow. It always handled it. After the storm of 93 I wanted a snowblower for it. Place I bought it from said it wouldn't work good. Neighbor had an old Allis-Chalmers blower he said I could have. I got it adapted to fit and it worked great. Finally sold it in 2011. All I ever replaced on it was a tie rod end ,seat and diode!

7 pointsI should have a label on every t-shirt that says "do not speak to me if I'm eating, drinking, or operating equipment more complex than a pencil- harzardous responses may occur"... And a door knocker that says "disturbing sleep up may result in serious head trauma to outside individuals"....

7 pointsToday I donated my grader to the Long Island Antique Power Association. I no longer have a use for it, so I figured the best place for it would be to give it to this club. They have their own property where they have a few shows a year and truck and tractor pulls. For my donation I will receive a lifetime membership and I’ll go run the grader to grade the track when they do the pulling.

7 pointsBecause they were made for the person who did not need a garden tractor, they were not a high end. They were made well (Wheel Horse), but they are harder to find parts for because they were considered "throw away". If you have and take care of one, it will serve you well. I think the real rub is they just are not as collectable to those that frequent this site. No offense is intended by anyone, I would think.

6 pointsMy brother got a 211-4 and a 208-4.... loves them, they have plenty of power and the cut is really good. Both have 36" RD decks. Steel hoods too! At work we had guys driving big diesel, extended cab, duallys! Never hauled or towed more than a load of air. We called it little pecker syndrome. I drove my wifes hand me down minivan, 200,000 miles, never let me down and a pocket full of Benjamins!

6 pointsGot the appraisal back today in consideration of our own barn project. Seems like we're still moving forward ....

6 pointsThe previous owners of our home built this deck on the shed with a view that invaded the neighbors privacy. The watchtower believe it or not was a lookout to spot deer, for their dogs ! After closing on our new to us house I repurposed the wood into a bridge for my daughter's property and create a landscape in front of the shed. I built the clear span mainframe with a "loaded" A frame. I used a turnbuckle attached to the top of the A and pulled an arch into the mainframe which would sag under weight to level. Without the arch weight would sag below level as if it was unsafe. I declared it a success when their golf cart crossed as designed and it was named the Hiawatha Bridge.

6 pointsLots of horse stuff today.... painted The Flame... sure @Achto ain't gonna like it.... Naawww just kidding phone went screwball....head gasket was leaking. Head bolts real loose so a new gasket and inspection. Clutch was always grabby and has orginal WH rubber belt so going to try a TSC one. Replaced a roll pin in in the steering. Smoked like a bandito.... too much seafoam or stabil so fresh gas and a oil change straightened that out.

6 pointsMy 1980 C-165 was made for two years with the single-cylinder K341AS. It is pictured with a Harbor Freight 10k generator and my custom C-85.

5 pointsSo, I had been seeing this red tractor sitting by a garage about a mile from where I live. Not much detail from the road, but I did stop recently and it was then clearly a Wheel Horse, but not clear what model. I left a note in the mailbox and the guy called me this morning. He wasn't home but said I could swing by for a closer look. It's a B100, 61-10K803, and hasn't moved for about 2 years. He said it might just need a battery and fresh gas to run... I'd expect some carb cleaning along with that also. All 4 tires are flat and the fronts are pretty cracked and rotten, rears not as bad. Seat is in bad shape. Deck has some rot and holes through it. Everything appears to be present and more or less intact though. This was not advertised and the guy does not have a sale price in mind yet. Any thoughts on what this is worth, what I should offer and what's the most this would be worth? I was looking for an S/N lookup but couldn't find one that works. I'd be excited to get one of these older ones for at least a partial resto or move it along to someone else who wants it even more than I do. But at least save it from sitting out here rotting. Thanks!

5 pointsIt's got the 103907 transmission...8 speed, 8 pinion, 1 1/8" axles. If that thing runs and the engine is good (cleaned up), might be worth $600- $700. If you can get it for less...$200 or $300 with deck, that would be a fair deal...less then that, you should be there now. @Snoopy11 , we typed at the same time. LOL

5 points@Tuneup glad you are gaining on it , referring to the ground strap removal , since adding ground strap verification to all my stuff , the starting is instant , the headlights and tail lights are solidly bright , just my own experience . don't worry about the W/H police . pete

5 pointsSunday was busy. The youngest was here to get his old 80 Kawi carbs sorted so he was on that while I started prepping the 301 for installation. It's an 80 so attached the cradle. We moved it together to the frame and those nice aluminum mounts were secured. No reason for the ground strap anymore. The PTO is done, tins are on. It's ready for the carb, coil and oil and then a start. So close!

4 pointsI don't have a huge amount of grass, so I use a 30" Toro Timemaster mower to cut it. The Personal Pace system works amazingly well. Lately I've been having some back issues that make walking distances a bit difficult , so Saturday, I picked up a 211-5SB to cut the grass on days it's acting up. The guy was asking $215. I'm not one to beat people up when they price things fairly, so I gave him his asking price. It's a cool little tractor, with a really low step-through height. But it's kind of strange not having a lift arm. The only lift for the 30" single blade deck is the height adjustment. In its mid-point or lower setting, the deck actually sits on the ground. I downloaded the manual and will figure out the issue when I get some free time. This little lightweight mower seems like it's going to do exactly what I bought it to do, and I'm happy with it. I'm wondering why lawn tractors seem to get no respect in tractor groups. I see it all the time. Someone will post something about a lawn tractor, and inevitably someone else posts something condescending along the line of "that's not a garden tractor". Well no sh*t! Of course it's not. Not everyone needs to plow snow or till a garden. I also see it on Facebook with pickup trucks. Any time there's a discussion on compact trucks, some idiot will come out with a statement about their puny towing capacity. I guess they feel everyone should have a minimum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds, regardless of whether or not they ever intend to tow. What's with the the disrespect? My rant is over.

4 pointsNot funny at all. ...I spit Pepsi all over my dang monitor.

4 pointsI look pretty funny trying to hold the key in start, while pushing in the clutch, while holding the leads of the volt meter. I may try to rope the wife into sitting outside with me in the mosquitos and humidity. After all...it is her birthday today

4 pointsRight now I am just cringing at the sight of that muffler stack with no rain cap.....
-
4 pointsIt's kinda funny, my wife always tells me to keep my eyes on the road when she's in the car with me. But she isn't always.... and I do look around maybe a bit more than I should, but then I see things like this. I don't intend to stop looking around...

4 pointsThere she be! Offset a little towards the flywheel. That was too easy for you guys. Next will be a problem with the recoil unit but that will come later. Thanks again!!

3 points@8ntruck, well I started using red n tacky , good stuff also like the nozzle tube in tough spots , but since going over to the lucas x tra heavy duty , in bearings , its been game over , 560 drop temp , anti sling and polyurea rated , failed noisy / whining bearings are a non issue . all my mower deck spindle bearings , and matching pto , mule bearings have been cleaned out and changed over to the green chassis grease . pto needle cone bearing , how about quiet deck running ? no whining noise , no failures , even detail greased my pto lever set up, next to battery with washers to remove sloppy lever action . decks run with a solid quiet , ease . everything just works better with the green grease. so green is my typical go to now. red is still good , but the extreme range of the green , is amazing , even repacked my idler pulleys , super quiet , no noise or related failures , all my chassis , go green ,pete

3 pointsOur Moderators are quite good about keeping us in line and conversations civil. I don't use Facebook at all because it is so full of negativism. I have found that the majority of the posts on this site are informative and friendly, the others we tend to ignore.

3 pointsToyotas aren’t the favorite truck of middle eastern guerilla’s and regular military because they suck…
-
3 pointsEarly C-125's use a pto switch with 4 wires. Two control the ignition and the other two control the starter through the clutch pedal switch to the starter solenoid. Late models use a 2-wire pto switch that powers the ignition switch with pto OFF. When the pto is ON the seat switch powers the ignition switch. No battery power directly to the ignition switch like we normally see. The ignition switch powers the neutral/clutch pedal switch and then to the starter solenoid. Pto must be OFF or operator must be in the seat to have power at the ignition switch.

3 pointsI'll put it a different way... one of the machines in my possession has been considered 'throw away' for 27 years now... Don
-
3 pointsBoy... I tell ya... that's a hard one. Gosh... me personally... I'd give 200-250 max for that... no more. I would give a low-ball first, like 150$... and tell him you are "getting it out of his way.../... taking it off his hands..." That may not be a "correct" value for that machine... but that's just what I would pay... Don

3 points@953 nut usually mechanical engineers are so full of themselves , they would not have a clue , just giant ego , now if you said a retired machinist , or production machinist, thats the type guy that really does things . out of the box , had one in the glass refinishing area , that could make up anything , also a good guy , no giant ego , pete

3 pointsI'd check the energizer lead on the coil. When switched off, you should have zero volts on the negative terminal on the coil. Only other thing I can think of is carbon build up on the head may be cooking off. Do you idle down before shutting off? I have no choice because I have canister mufflers and don't want a backfire.
-
3 pointsThe pin inside a pin is sometimes seen on the lower steering shaft to hold the sector gear - you need excellent shear resistance there. I have had good success replacing the 2 pin setup with the proper size & length coiled pin (aka Spirol Pin).
-
3 points@ RANDY - IN- OHIO , agree with others on what you have picked up , personally , would verify every functional stage , enhance it if needed . get the oil changed in those gear units , and flip that deck over, clean it out and get some lubricant into that metal , to stop rot and preserve what's there , indeed a special unit , good luck with it , pete

3 pointsIt's big! The hood was elongated and whoever did it did a really nice job. Winning bid was $650. I was shocked I got it that cheap... Only 50 more than I paid for my C-121 a couple years ago. I would have probably gone higher just because I'm a Toyota fan. I had that engine in an old Corolla back in highschool! Yes, I will be replacing the fire extinguisher
