Well our daughter is on her way back home for the summer!!! From her first year of college! 7 hour drive round trip to get her and brought home! She told her Dad this AM to bring a trailer lol…. She sent pictures of what she had and instead on the trailer!!! Dad told her he can get it in the truck! Well we moved her stuff and got it in the truck but WOW feels like we are moving more then one kids stuff!!! Her dorm room wasn’t all that big! The real fun was getting this bean bag that came in a small box when it was first take to college but man did it expand!!! Reminds us of those old toys you soaked in water for 24 hours and they grew six times the size!!! So the trick was to get it out of her dorm room down the dorm hall through the door in the elevator of course she was on the eighth floor and then get it out the building at one point someone was coming down the hallway and we had the back up all the way so they can get to their dorm so we can get on past!!! But it’s all worth it to have her home for the summer! Go Hawk!!!

I have been grinding an edge on the scrape blade I was given. It has been slow progress but getting there. I grind a while then let it cool down. While it is cooling I have been cutting metal and tacking the pieces together. This is what I have so far.

I wonder what model it started life as before it decided to identify as something else.

Finally! Something green and yellow that I would consider restoring to what it should be! Tractors are like watermelon: you enjoy the red and throw away the green...

Been working on fortifying the area where I rest the dock on the shore. Had the sand wash out from under the sod last winter. Anyhow, Morgan got tote and haul duties while I did the excavation and poured the slab: And Clyde got tote duties when I laid the blocks: One more trip to get a block, make some forms to pour a rounded cap on the ends, back fill and set the dock. Sounds like more seat time doing tote duty..... Oh, Morgan got treated to a new air filter yesterday. The old filter and pre filter were caked out to the air cleaner cover in spots.

When I was getting ready to build a shop years back my neighbor rented one of the walk behind units like in @WHX?? link. He had a lot of bad spots in his yard and wanted some "free" sod. I had rented a skid steer to level the area and when I attempted to harvest sod for him it came up in chunks, not very useable. It was zoysia grass so i'm not sure if this would have been a problem with other grass species. The cutting blade on the sod cutter vibrated side to side as it went forward, don't know how well it would have cut the roots otherwise.

Here is a horse of another shade of green I saw a couple years back, some Oliver enthusiasts thought for sure it was the real thing, it was REAL but it wasn't actually THING they were thinking it was. The home made mini-orchard tractor next to the Wheel Horse Oliver is a real crowd pleaser. Very well executed build.

The mating faces of my pump's body had high spots. I had to carefully flatten them to be sure they would seal. The diaphragm rubber is not very thick . If your diaphragm was flat when you clamped the body together, then the rubber now must be stretched for every pumping cycle (the pump is driven by the camshaft so one pump per two revs of the engine). This puts extra strain on the pump mechanism arm and hinge pin to work against the rubber and the return spring and it fatigues the rubber to failure fairly quickly. With the diaphragm "scrunched" inward, by aligning its pre-punched holes with the mounting screws, the rubber is always relaxed and only flexed for each cycle. The slight wrinkles in the edges of the diaphragm between the screws caused by the scrunching get smoothed out as the body gets clamped together. Tighten the screws a little at a time in rotation to bring the body halves together evenly. Edit: if you have a vacuum only pump, not a mechanical, then without scrunching the diaphragm it simply won't work

The Paint Department BBT got the spindles (with trailer stubs) and 5 lug hubs painted up to match the Cinnamon Horse C160-8. Should have time to get that situated this weekend.

Mission accomplished, got a good few laughs. Can relax now.

Fired up the 875 today. Hasn't been started or driven since the last time I used it this winter to plow some snow. Remember this tractor was purchased as a parts machine. It had a blown engine and @squonkpicked up a replacement engine for me at last years Big Show. Thanks to who ever sold it to Mike and thank you Mike for selling it to me. It runs great and it saved this tractor from being disassembled. I also tried to take Jeffrey for a ride in the back of the 1075 and trailer. He kept jumping out to bite the tires. His loss.

I'm going to buy another kit @Handy Don that makes more sense. I'm going to look and see if Norman has a kit on isavetractors.com.. I didn't like this amazon one.... But anyways I've been building a retaining wall for my front yard and my daughter wanted to ride/sit on the tractor so I figured I'd dump this picture here to share.... I think she likes it more than Max. A grader blade would sure come in handy lol

With all of those chickens running around in the yard what did you expect, their dropping are so rich in nutrients (RUST) the grass goes crazy!

I just have a few more welds to make. We have St. Augustine grass and I have dug some up by hand but now I want to remove more than I'm interested in doing by hand. If I get home in time this afternoon I will find out if it will work or not.

That's a right fine "proof coat" of color on the tin & wheels - perfect for sanding to find low spots before breaking out the Regal Red & Linen Beige. Can you actually reach the pedal?? Name that tractor "Charlene", reminds me of the lyrics in Joe Diffie's "John Deere Green" song - "And the whole town said, the fool should have used Red, but it looked good to Charlene, in John Deere Green".

Nothing like some good sand blasting will cure and decals. I agree that seat is crazy.

My hinges were seriously wallered out causing the hood to rock sideways and rattle so I tack welded 1 inch grade 8 bolts to them and used nylon washers and lock nuts. No slop or rattles now!

Finished the Sod Cutter today all but paint. I did try it. Not so good in dry red clay. I broke out the sprinkler and after about 30 min. Still too dry but good results.

I once knew an old timer (born in the late 1800’s) from Kansas who asked me if I’d ever seen a sod house (I hadn’t). That virgin prairie grass could be turned into building blocks and that’s what settlers did back in those days. It grew as tall as a maiden on horseback - or something like that.

Looking good so far. I'll be keeping an eye on this build. For my understanding.. this doesn't have any moving parts? I mean like a side to side movement of the blade? Also what is the purpose of cutting sod like this? Is it to harvest sod to replant it or to clear a piece of land from sod so that it can be tilled and turned into a garden?

Its the military wheelhorse version for keeping the front lines meat and tidy.
