Yes! My brother had no will and I am the last member of the family so I had to petition the courts to become the administrator of his estate. He had made promises and indications of his wishes to several of our cousins and myself but never put anything in writing. I don't have the wisdom of Solomon and spent countless hours going through a disorganised pile of papers to attempt to meet his wishes. With the aid of my cousins we distributed his assets in an equitable manner once the debts were settled. Long story made short, have a will and a letter of instruction (updated as things change) about how you would like to see your stuff distributed so that everyone will know that the executor/administrator is carrying out your wishes. Don't put that burden on others. They will have enough to take care of without having to guess what you may have wanted to do.

I have been reading most of these post. I like what I am hearing. Sounds like most will be taken care of and some will go on the action block, or sold off that is ok, most likely would go to collectors. I say enjoy them today and every day. I am getting this one today. My lost dream until now the second was the one I had. Will post more later.

I incorporated a winch in my hood lift that was needed to fit the tall diesel engine. Just my 2cents put I doubt if you are going to be able to pull out cars and trucks with such a light setup. ( raider 9's aren't the heaviest WH's and Those predators are super light.) I opted for a 3000lbs winch on my C141D

Wasn’t in the office this week…and pics are not allowed at to many places where I work. Spent this last week in Virginia and this is the view from my hotel balcony (I did work some at the hotel on laptop so it kinda counts). Chesapeake Bay is what your looking at. One day shot and one night shot.

Impromptu Bar. Its the covid meeting place for anyone banished to the RV, nice and airy but still more sheltered than standing about outside. Current covid case is Marie, seen wrapped up in the Oranjerie.

And the building in use for my youngest daughter Sarahs 16th birthday That little pool table is so handy, it finds its way all over the place! its not quite level and one of the balls is larger than the rest, but that makes it more of a challenge to play. Maries wheelhorse has taken up residence in the building, its a bit sick and backfiring all the time, will get around to looking at it after we move.

I’ve got a few Eric, let me know so I can update my will!! 😂

Decided that it was an Oranjerie rather than a Greenhouse/shed - sounds way cooler and is probably closer to how it would actually be used. Painstakingly hand painted the sign, and it took several coats to get the orange dark enough. The wife and kids (ok they are all near enough adults) did the painting while I finished up the woodwork, its been a real family project, nice way to spend time with each other. Oh, forgot, I had COVID for the first week home so was living in the RV and working on the shed, Marie has it now so she is out in the RV, its just been one of those years!

Due to the price of wood it took a bit of lateral thinking to get it finished for as near to free as possible. We went to Glasgow and demolished a wooden garage which provided all the wood for the gable ends, soffit boards, doors, etc Several garden sheds donated wood as well, its amazing how wood much the detail consumes! Also managed to get all the ironware like hinges, bolts and door locks for free from the above donor sheds.

The Vintage Garden Tractor Show is May 14th and located at 422 Dutch Valley Drive NE, Sugarcreek, OH 44681. There is a swap meet and a small restaurant on site. Always a good show and plenty to see. 2017_drone_footage.mp4

Well we managed to dodge Covid in this house (besides my daughters quick round in February) until yesterday. Alex woke up for school looking like an absolute mess. Something said test him so I did and sure enough he was positive. So while he slept I tinkered in the garage and mowed a small section of my lawn with my 753. Fast forward to today and he feels fine and wanted to be in the garage all day. I managed to keep him busy with his 604 moving things around getting stuff ready for our first show of the season. He also installed his brand new seat on his commando 8 that I got him for his birthday. we just came in. 11 hours in the garage. I only was able to stop to eat and he made me do that in there too 😂. I tried to mow some of the lawn and the 753 died (I believe fuel issue) and he towed me in from the back 40. Unfortunately his brother now has it with all the same symptoms on the same time line as Alex. Hopefully he kicks it fast too.

Began pulling the 856 apart. With some luck it will be running and driving again. Has not done that in decades.

Well it's been a fun 3 days. I took everything apart as you know, a lot of cleaning of the tins and fins on the engine. Rebuilt the carburetor, cleaned out the gas tank, changed the sediment bowl over to a petcock, new fuel lines and an inline fuel filter. Went through the wiring, cleaned all the connections, changed what ends needed changed put new ends on the battery cables and just made sure that everything was nice and solid. Surprisingly most of the old wiring is still in good shape. The lighter is still there and it even works. It started fairly easy, a little fiddling with adjustments and it smoothed right out and runs sweet. I want to add a shout out to Dan @Achto for his suggestion on how I could fix a dog point screw that would work on this transmission. I was told the transmission was no good but she runs and drives and all gears work as they should. I just need to go through the rest of the functions of the tractor at some point. I've got a kitchen remodel I want to start this coming Monday and that'll have to take precedent.

Ridging done, building 100% complete! There are a few rough areas, a bit of a wobble in the roof line where I used trusses off an old shed - should have spent a little longer making sure they lined up perfectly. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, and doubt anyone else will notice. Such a shame we are not going to get any use out of it, although for the next 2 months until we move we will be in there any chance we get having BBQ's etc Even worse, the next house we are going to doesn't have a shed or a garage, so I am going to have to build something - the 5 wheelhorses are off to a storage unit in town unitl thats done.

I took off my rear receiver and added a bottom gusset (been meaning to do this for months now) and also bent up some rebar for attaching safety chains. This is probably overkill given the low speeds, but if the hitch ever pops off the ball I don't want a load of wood rolling across the yard. I wanted the chain loops to be smaller and more "D" shaped but that proved to be more difficult than I thought. I was able to bend decent 90s so I just made these rectangles. I drilled 3/8 holes and pounded the loops in then welded which seemed the strongest way to go.

I recently found some junky 14ga sheet metal at work. still had some good sections so I figured I might as well get some patches made for my rusty 42 side discharge. I had my younger brother who’s going to a welding school do the welding for me. Had to bribe him with food but whatever.🤣 I figure since the deck is 100% solid now, I’ll cut with it a few times just to see if the welds hold up to constant vibration and then I’ll paint the whole thing with POR-15 to ensure this is the last time patching is ever needed. Still have tons of sheet metal left as well. Definitely finding a place to store it cause I doubt this will be the last rusted mower I own.

I bought a new pair of 8" fronts (rim & tire) through Walmart. I won't do that again. While I saved a few bucks on them, it was a major pain trying to pick them up at the store - it took 2 tries and at least an hour of asking, waiting around to see if they can find them, asking again... I didn't need new rims but they were cheap enough that saving on the unmount/mounting I figured was worth it. I may buy some used Ags for the rear already on rims, but I think I'd go with the advice from @8ntruck , @CodyP- find a local shop with service dept. that will set them all up for you and stand behind their work. It will be worth it.

So my new lift cable came for the c175. I could not get it to feed through the tube so I took the tube out to inspect it. This is what I found. Luckily I had a piece of stainless pipe that would work so I made a new one.

Yeah, Jeff. Been there, done that. Built a .030 over LT1 350 back in 1975 - the last "animal" motor to go into my '57. Used a Crane ZIP-510-NC cam - .510 lift solid lifter style with a recommended shift point of 7800 RPM and redline at 8000. Had to take all the toys to a specialty machine shop in southeast Massachusetts, as they were at the time, the only "local" shop equipped to bore an engine block using torqued deck plates to pre-stress the block. This shop was used to building 9000 RPM SBC motors for Econorails - the foreman asked me why I chose such a wimpy cam!! You are right - quite the feeling dumping the clutch and shifting at 7800!!. Bill

My ships workshop has come along in leaps and bounds. I now have possession of all the lockers, that big grey one was full of engine room paperwork, its now full of tools after I sweet talked the Chief Engineer into letting me have it The red locker was stolen in the dark of night from one of the changing rooms and contains lengths of timber and metal to keep the place tidy. Found the grey rubbish bin in one of the skips up the dock - its a beauty! everyone else thinks I'm nuts scratching about in skips, but its amazing what you find. Its so easy to build even complicated items in there now.

Yeah man, we're all lit up for twilight wagon rides with the kids during summer! 2 of the 4 trailer plug pins are for running lights and come on with the light switch, and the other 2 are wired to a separate switch for powering my 25 gallon sprayer which uses a 4 pin plug now.
