13 pointsPut the 520-H to work tonight. With all the rain, a little snow last week, and being out of town for 2 weeks, the grass was getting out of control. Finally got most of it mowed. The back corner is still too wet to drive on. You know it's wet when the Mallards start to move in.

12 pointsLooks to me like it should be finished off with a grader blade.

9 pointsFrom the we've seen it all files.... Restore this tractor that is in good shape. Looks like prior owner of my property used it for running around on.

7 pointsI've got a tool that is a combination tape measure, level, and a little red laser light. Drives the cat crazy and that is very entertaining. Most fun I've had in quite a while...pretty pathetic huh ??? When the cat sees the light on her tail...what a riot that is. Getting a good picture is like herding cats.

7 points@WHX?? is that a camel standing left of the shed in this picture?? One hump or two??

6 pointsThis 312-8 was my regular mower for 30 out of the 33 years I have owned it since new. First picture was in 89 with its first coat of wax going on,and second picture was this past weekend hauling a dump cart around. Keep after it and never put it away wet.A WheelHorse really is worth the extra effort to keep it nice. It just deserves it. @Mustang67ford

6 pointsI think @Achto did the same. That's where I got the idea for my 1075 Batteries are prorated. After 22 years you get a penny off of list price.

6 pointsDriver: The thing don't steer! Passenger: We're headed right for that thicket! Actually might be handy for haulin feed sacks??

6 pointsI just bolted it to the frame with a spacer plate to get the engine pulley as close to the original position as possible. I upsized the engine pulley for a little bit more speed so I had to modify an old belt cover that I had laying around just a little bit to make the opening near the engine pulley fit properly. This was a roller when I got the tractor so I actually used the original belt guard to help dictate placement of the engine.

5 pointsThe weather's on the cool side today so I decided to dig into this tractor a little bit and start taking things apart and seeing just how dirty it is. Of course the oil is pretty black, but it was up to the proper level. Not all that bad, I've seen worse, at least it wasn't packed full. I don't know why the battery won't hold a charge.

5 pointsI’d put a front dump on it. Like a concrete buggy… just put a wheel barrow on it with pivot dump to front…

5 pointsI bought my first toro Wheel horse 312-8 hydro classic,I have been looking for the model/year info.I have the motor info, deck info but not the frame numbers yet.I believe its an 87 but not the month ,model, serial #s yet. This thing is huge lol and I have an over grown acre of 18 to about 20 inches of grass the cut this morning so I'm getting her ready.I have one issue the motion control shifter will not lock in forward its slipping out unless I hold it in gear.It stays in neutral and reverse fine.other than that I'm greasing things up and checking fluids. Its new to me so I don't know what brands of fluids I'm using so after I cut today I'm going to change out and flush everything so I know whats what from there on.If anyone has any advice on finding the serial numbers or the shifter by all means share the wisdom .

5 pointsMy shifter knob and brake lever rubber end came in from Lowell, so I put them on the 1984 Work Horse… All I need now is the Hi-Lo shifter knob ( on back order from Lowell) and the Work Horse will be done…

4 pointsI cover mine up with moving blankets. They are pretty cheap at Harbor freight. They keep off the dust but don't make the tractor sweat like a tarp does. They also are heavy and stay in place when it's breezy. We have a couple of cats at the barn, and I got tired of footprints on everything...

4 pointsNice! You won't have to make the switch shield out of a milk jug! Put new ends on with dielectric grease!
-
4 pointsThe welded chain stack support is very clever. Mount the two ends as needed and then proceed to weld links. Turning radius would be huge, but if ya got the space, who cares!
-
4 pointsThe more I look at this thing the more I have to admit it's kinda growin' on me. Was it me I would build a C-series with two pedals. That nasty front bumper gotta go. The wheels and engine need to be Navajo White. Stack can stay. I'd even go a little longer in the front. More room for holding/mounting items things stuff accessories and implements.

4 pointsFunny, It also works for Puppy Dogs.😂 You just have to take care they have enough room to break. - not fair on sloopy floors, but ain‘t less funny.

4 pointsI see what you are saying and maybe worth while looking into. The whole differential will slide out IF the hub is off.... . But if the differential can be disassembled and reassembled in place and the snap ring removed the axle can slide right out with the hub on. Could take the potentially offending hub to a press then and reassembly would be a snap. It works on gear jammers that I know for sure. Trying to reassemble a diff in place is gonna take five hands I would guess. Or lay @953 nut's tractor on it's right side so Mr. gravity helps you! Bet we got Anthony really confused now!

4 pointsThat front end would be perfect for a passenger front “seat” …

4 pointsHere’s how I mounted two of my predator repowers… used the w section sign post to get pulley at same elevation as original. Bolted right on after that.

3 pointsBeen thinking about this ever since I had to handle the dismantling of my Dad's shop and his 50 years of accumulated tools, machines, parts, and materials. Ultimately, he agreed with my suggestion that he take a small kit of tools he would want at his assisted living apartment and then let the children and grandchildren draw lots and then pick one item at a time from what was left. Children (there are six of us) went a couple rounds and then the grands got a round. Each person chose the item that meant the most to them from what hadn't yet been chosen. The large, expensive power tools were NOT the first to go. It was hand tools that my Dad had taught us to use when we were young. He was very moved by this, I can tell you, and it compensated a lot for the loss of his shop. The whole process took days since I had to create an inventory of each possible pick and not everyone could be available at the same time to make their choices. Eventually, some of us could not use anything else and dropped out. When everything that was wanted had been chosen, the remainder was donated to a charity's tag sale. For me, my shop and tools and the tractors are a hobby and the costs are sunk. I won't try to recover any money when it's time for mine to go, so I'll have designated recipients for some specific items but the rest I'll leave for others to choose. I've started an inventory to help whoever does this for me.

3 pointsBeen working on getting the Cinnamon Horse C160-8 ready for work. The Mckissick chipper shredder is hanging out on the front. That's at an odd angle I believe so I had the Olympic Weight Lifter BBT hold up the front of the chipper while I used the impact gun to loosen up and re-tighten the mounting nuts and bolts. I set the parts out for a change over to front trailer spindles and 5 spoke front wheels.

3 pointsThere is motor oil, I have a 1/4 HP electric motor that has little spring cap above each bearing for a few drops of motor oil. It's probley at least 100 years old.

3 pointsThey look like they are waiting for you to open the pool! Awesome to see the 520-H running that 60! I hotta drag mine out and get it all sharpened up and serviced. Been working the zero turn pretty hard lately.

3 pointsStarted pulling the 856 project apart today. Not sure where to start. I think clean and rebuild the carb and rewire it all. Also I don't think the ignition switch is correct. Might have to add a solenoid or replace the key switch.

2 pointsDid some work with the loader today and I have to say this is definitely the best loader I have had. Tons of power and super responsive. I’m working on a review of it for YouTube!
