9 pointsNo particular reason or function. Just felt like making a Viking chair today.
-
8 pointsOf course it can be made to whatever “non-Viking” specs one wishes. This one is made low to the ground. It’s made for sipping next to the campfire. Then once all “sipped out” one merely tips sideways onto floor and naps it out.
-
7 pointsI thought about Jay @roadapples last week while walking the streets of Williamsburg.
-
7 pointsShhhh, we need to get him there first! Then we can help him @Pullstart load the car

7 pointsFor those of you who have been around this place for a while you know each year I create a buy sell trade thread where the members can use this to communicate prior to the show. We have found that many members are able to pre sell/buy larger items that another member may not have hauled if a deal was not made prior. That being said please feel free to use this thread to advertise items you are looking to buy/sell or trade! Senior picture is to remind you that the Senior is the featured tractor this year! This one is nfs! Lol

6 pointsHop in the O'lady's car and get some good gas mileage. You know you don't need to bring any tractors. The money you save from not being able to trailer anything home will pay for the rest!
-
6 pointsYep I got a ton of stuff to list but reluctant as if I am even going to get to go. Sure would like to Seniors being the feature. We could have a dandy senior parade. Now if I could sell enough stuff to help offset the fuel cost?

5 pointsWe were in a line of traffic at a red light, two cars ahead of us made right turns and we moved forward to the light and stopped as the light was still red. The young girl driving the car behind us was texting and glanced up then floored it when she noticed we had moved. About fifty feet later she totaled her car when it encountered our Reese hitch. When the police arrived she was still texting, police officer asked if I could pull of to the side of the road, told him I would ruin her car if I did that. He took a couple of pictures and said it was already a total anyway. As I drove forward I was towing her car too. The policeman had a sledgehammer in his trunk and beat on her hood until it cleared our hitch.

4 pointsFor some reason, as a kid, I got liking radio dramas and comedy. Abbott & Costello's zany and deliberate misuse of words really appealed to my sense of humor. Thanks for the memory.

4 pointsI'm currently restoring an '87 VW Golf with a 5 speed. All the plastic parts of the linkage had to be replaced and I thought I adjusted correctly. Well, no... 1st was 3rd, REV was 1st. No idea where 2nd was. @ebinmaine said, "Sounds like a pretty good theft deterrent!"
-
4 pointsGood question.. i'm not really sure. Probably going to end up overbuilding everything and never lifting more than 200lbs About the frame. I'm going to strengthen it as much as possible, or well, at least until i'm satisfied. I think i'll double up the thickness of the frame where the 'l-brackets' mount to prevent tearing. I'll also connect the two l-brackets with a brace to prevent side to side flexing.
-
4 pointsAren't you tractor heavy, bring a bunch to sell and make the trip pay for itself, and have a good time doing it. You know you want to be there.
-
4 pointsWell I am pretty close now! Had to redo a couple wire connectors and decided to clean the switch terminals and wipe it down while tank was off. The fuel valve and grommet are toast so I'll need to replace that and fuel lines next. But it's coming together...
-
4 points@Ed Kennel pm to follow , I don't want a bucket of roadapples from your neighbors.
-
4 pointsForgot one Click on picture below and it opens up a build album. Photo album from a guy I follow.

4 pointsI remember seeing a video a year or two ago with a girl in her early twenties who had never seen a phone like that and had no notion what to do with it. She was very good spirited and admitted her defeat.....

4 pointsI love my Viking chairs, my wife and kids helped me build a set of four several years ago for Father's Day. Much more rudimentary and crude than that one, but very much appreciated. The design looks uncomfortable before sitting in it, but they really are not. I've found them more comfortable and less stressful on the joints than most modern lawn chairs. Some stain and three coats of spar urethane and they last longer too.

4 pointsThat brings up a teenage story. I got a 3 trumpet electric air horn set off a dump truck and temp wired them on my 1966 Ford 3/4 ton truck. Since I played Cornet in band (not great) I decided to wire the 3 horns up separately to door bell buttons so I could play the horns. My wiring and those door bell buttons were no match for the amp draw of those electric air horns. Thankfully nothing was mounted so I could just yank it off the truck. I seem to recall my Dad giving me a lesson about amp draw and fuses.

3 pointsCustodian loaded it onto my truck, I'm going to use is as a vault for my Milwaukee cordless tools, battery's and chargers after drilling out the lock was confronted with a combination lock. Fortunately this door was not locked and the combination for the lock is located inside the ATM machine. If I ever forget the combination all I have to do is return to this forum

3 pointsDo I need to start another ungly seat thread tho Envy? Getting poked in the rear by that one has gotta be gettin old!
-
3 pointsUnfortunately these seats were more or less throw away. I wouldn't spend too much on a nice looking used seat because they will be over twenty five years old and likely to begin cracking.
-
3 pointsOk, let's try to do this right! (Safety switch temporally bypassed, no children nor animals were injured during the filming of this video) So, apologies for all the prior improperly posted movies. This is the 36" RD with late spindles and belt covers. All new belts, bearings and blades...
-
3 pointsSince the previous post i've been tinkering away.. I think the three point is a go!
-
3 points@Ed Kennell Why don't you create a grab bucket of parts X amount of dollars the buyer gets the parts and the bucket to carry them in. I'll bring you a replacement bucket. LOL
-
3 pointsDidn't someone post a picture not long ago of a WH being carried down the highway hanging out the trunk of a car?
-
3 pointsYep, by the time I was in high school, sticks were getting scarce but our family cars still had them. Stuck with them until I needed a family minivan and stick wasn't an option! The modern 6-, 8-, and even 10-speed automatics are astoundingly efficient, though, and even CVTs are pretty impressive. Technology progresses!

3 pointsFor some of the primitive charging systems on tractors you can't beat an analog (needle) type of voltmeter. The digital types jump around trying to keep up with peaks and valleys of voltage while an analog system basically can't react that fast and gives you the average of the voltage. Just find an analog meter and check the voltage of a fully charged battery like in your car. It is best to do the check hours after it hasn't been run and then the voltage should be 12.8, if it is close, then it it is good enough for any tractor work.
-
3 points@oldredrider beat you to it though not much has been listed, may want to merge the two.
-
3 pointsThe point is that the texting guy is not in control of his car. He is so conditioned to having others tell him to go. I was trying to tell him that the light was about to change !!

3 points@Achto your mirror is kind of giving you a fist bump every time you look at it! It’s saying “I know you don’t always believe in me, but I believe in you!” It’s also saying “I can’t wait for some anti seize on the door handles some day!”

3 pointsI have a 36" RD all new bearings and new balanced uplift blades, it should do well on the 312-8, hopefully! Last test it needed a bit more TLC. This is an older deck with 3/4" x 6" keyed spindles and later two piece belt covers. I am ready to see if it'll whirl!
