12 pointsNo particular reason or function. Just felt like making a Viking chair today.

10 pointsMy all-time pet peeve while driving is when the person in front of you at the stoplight is texting. I developed an "education" strategy that seems to work. These folks are so conditioned having someone else beep the horn after the light turns green - they floor it and off they go, until the next light, like a modern Pavlov Dog. Had some "it's all about me" clown do that on the way home from work - first offense, I "Beep" the horn. Two blocks up the road, another light - this time I lay on the horn. Third offense about four blocks later, I hit the horn while the light is still red - off he goes into cross traffic - he drops the phone and just about soils himself - lesson completed - no more texting. Some may find this harsh, others entertaining ....

8 pointsI was alerted of a local auction that had a D160 on it. Threw my hat in the ring and ended up winning it. It's got something kinda crazy looking going on in the back but I should be able to use some parts off from it to fix my D160 up. Basically bought the wheel weights & the tractor was thrown in for free.

8 pointsWednesday was 3 days since I painted the hood gray… painted the grille and the headlight bezels today… Rustoleum Satin Black. Clean lines… Terrys decals go on tomorrow… Then I couldn’t resist… had to take her for a spin… Check out those Ags roaring on that pavement… Ya-uh ! IMG_0748.MOV

8 pointsI have a girdle brace tied into the rear hitch assembly. Hopefully this will accurately locate and hold the backing plates for an expanding drum brake setup. More pics to come as progress is made.
-
7 pointsNow that I have this thing in my possession, here are a few more pic's @WHX?? pointed out the decal on the hood. Clear proof that this tractor is nothing but a chick magnet. This hitch on the back is heavy enough to pull almost anything. As for the two 1/4 barrel carriers on the back. I think the grill may answer that question. Note the faint LP above the smiley face. I think that someone had this ole girl running on LP at one time. Most certainly an engine transplant. Engine does turn over by hand, sounds like the starter may be hanging up though. Gas tank has that horrific smell of varnish, so guessing she hasn't been run in quite some time. If by chance I do decide to make a show cruiser out of this, the first I'll do after I get it running is to put her on a diet. With the tires filled, the cast iron wheel weights, and what ever that fender pan & seat weights ( all made from 1/4" material ). This thing is a tank !! My trailer seemed heavier behind the truck than it does when I have 4 normal 's on it.

7 pointsHung the mowing deck on the C160 today and adjusted it so it's ready for the season. Before After Then changed the oil and greased the Commando 8, and hung it's deck.

7 pointsHere is a "teaser" photo. I will post more detailed info in the near future.

6 pointsBrainstorming on this modification for a while. Mocking up the pedals. Wanting to keep a factory look and feel. So, I hesitantly cut up two good pedals (my 312-8 pedal and a 520H pedal)

6 points@Oldskool Mike used a Ford brake DISC if I remember right. The type on a vehicle where the rear disc actually has a small built-in drum specifically for the emergency brake which is... CABLE operated. Excellent thread. Really enjoying this.
-
6 pointsIf i had a dollar for every car I see coming at me at dusk WITHOUT their lights on and I flash my lights at them to tell them to turn those stinkin lights on so people can see you, and they DO NOT TURN THEM ON, I'd have enough money to pay for Wednesday night's dinner!

6 pointsJoe, congratulations! You have discovered a new idea called uncommon sense! Doesn’t it feel good to be in the 1 percenters club?

5 pointsof amazing, Looked at the morning weather on the news and they had started the segment with a car avitar that had the wipers and headlights coming on. Question, does the weatherman have to inform people they will have to turn on their wipers and headlights if it is raining in the dark! If so we need those self driving cars now!

5 pointsThat poor thing is uglier'n' a stump fence. It even makes ME look halfway to normal. I like it.
-
5 pointsOf course it can be made to whatever “non-Viking” specs one wishes. This one is made low to the ground. It’s made for sipping next to the campfire. Then once all “sipped out” one merely tips sideways onto floor and naps it out.
-
5 pointsI used Ford rotors with the outer disc cut off making it a drum. Then made band style brakes for it. Ford Ranger of Jeep Cherokee would be about the same. Also on my modified golf cart build I used a Ford Ranger rear axle with the small brake drums and WH rear wheels. Nice looking build so far. I'm really diggin it @jeepdan. Keep the pics and info coming.

5 pointsI wonder if the disks/calipers now on downhill racing mountain bikes would be strong enough. They sure are compact. mechanical (or hydro-mechanical) and also have the option of putting the brake levers on the steering wheel! Not sure how you'd handle attaching to the hub/axle, but here is what they look like: https://westore24.com/shimano-mt200-brake-bicycle-bike-mtb-hydraulic-disc-set-clamp-mountain-update-for-m315-w-n-g3-hs1/

5 pointsI spoke to the owner of that "surrey with the panel on top" about range. It is very cool (and also modded into a two-seater like @Achto's newest acquisition). He said the panels give him maybe 15 minutes of low-load driving after four hours of sun. He was seen last year with his buggy plugged in whenever it wasn't in use! Likely newer, more efficient panels would make a difference.

5 pointsI do understand safety, and routinely drive with my lights on, but really… the “lights on when wipers are on laws” are indicative of how ridiculous we’ve gotten with regulating common sense. On a clear sunny day if I am driving and decide to clean my window of bugs or dirt using my wipers I can be ticketed in many states if I don’t put my lights on. Nonsense. OK. Now I’m going to get off my soap box and read the warning labels so I don’t microwave a wet pet to dry it off, put a plastic bag over my head, put my nephew in the dryer after he jumps in mud puddles…etc. etc. etc.
-
5 pointsOk now I'm really ticked for what you paid for it! The decal was worth the price of admission!
-
5 pointsNow where in the name of Mother Mary & Joseph did you find that! Lemme know when you go git it I'll tag along just for S & Gs. Lotta tractor just for a steering link!
-
5 pointsGeez I guess I'm behind the times...... I gotta get out and lite a couple of those miner's headlamps @Ed Kennell ....'specially if I am gonna shine coons @oliver2-44

5 pointsMaybe that’s the 150 lb limit? A 300 pounder’s cheeks popped those dents into it and they realized it was no longer a suitable rumble seat!

-
4 pointsThat seat looks to low for an old guy with bad knees to get out of. Can you make it so the seat is about 16" to 17". It looks like it would be great for ice fishing if I could get up on my feet. Excellent Cas.

4 pointsNo worries hi jacking the topic guys. Love the conversation
-
4 pointsThere is a little truth in all of these statements, but remember this...The Limited Slip Differential only acts like a Limited Slip when you are going in a straight line. It acts like a regular differential when turning.
-
4 pointsWas buried in between a bunch of metal & what not on a Hansen auction site. Sat on the bid until the last 3min, of course then after I upped the bid the min amount it reset for 10min. No one else bid after I upped it though. Gonna pick it up from Neenah on my way home from work today.

4 pointsWasn’t that long ago, we were talking about all the spare bus seats I have for sulky builds. Looks like they fit on a D just fine too!

4 pointsNot really. It is still a planetary differential not positraction. The C-clip riding against the pinion gears just makes it harder for it to slip.
-
4 pointsIt looks to me like a 1960 belt Guard! I would say it’s got the lauson tecumseh engine! Most of the attachments that attached to the back fit in like a key and then turn all except for one!
