12 pointsI was alerted of a local auction that had a D160 on it. Threw my hat in the ring and ended up winning it. It's got something kinda crazy looking going on in the back but I should be able to use some parts off from it to fix my D160 up. Basically bought the wheel weights & the tractor was thrown in for free.

10 pointsAnd I can't even get her to use it...ours has been giving us fits for a while now so I went out and bought her one that's so much better built...she informed me that I had to do the laundry from now on...I just don't understand some people Actually bought two of them yesterday...but the other one is gonna take a full days work to dig it out of the back of the barn it's in...not sure what model it is yet, but I do know it's a bit later than this one. Trying to pinpoint an exact year of manufacture. What I do know about this one so far is that it is a Model 90, built sometime 1927-1930. Probably gonna change it over to a gas powered 92 though

7 pointsGreetings! I just wanted to take a moment to say hello and do a shout-out from the West Coast. I'm a recent WH owner ('69 WorkHorse 700 w/ a Kohler Magnum 8) with my eye on a 2nd purchase soon for mowing. Would love to hear from some others who are out here in the Pacific NW. I'm new to garden tractors (and small engines and transmissions in general)...my wife found our WorkHorse online and I fell in love with it when I first drove it. We've had it for maybe 5 months (since we moved into our new place) and it's been used for hauling lots of heavy items from one side of the property to the other. Has some quirks which I will likely be posting questions about down the road (only thing we've done is put a new battery in it). Cheers! [edited to add more pics]

5 pointsWeek 2- Post op Check. Doc says everything looks like its healing well and minimal swelling. He took the stitches out from my incisions and unbandaged it for the first time in 2 weeks. Feels good to have skin exposed to air! I get to start applying 25% body weight on this leg now with the aid of crutches. Brace can be unlocked and bent up to 90 degrees only while sitting. Brace has to be locked straight to get up and move around. Doc says driving restricitions will be lifted in 2-4 weeks when brace comes off. Physical therapy is going well. Just gotta keep up on my daily exercises.

5 pointsI've been meaning to use some scrap bits of tread plate to make new foot rests for Fred for awhile now and today I got on with it. They look nice and will be easier to keep clean that the stuck on grit paper that I used before.

4 pointsYour tranny should be a limited slip. That big C clip in by the pinion gears keeps the axles from spinning separately. It will slip (one will turn one way while the other spins the opposite direction). But it takes a fair amount of effort.
-
4 pointsI made some bushings and pins. Jigged these up to keep them aligned and tacked them in place. Aligned the bushings and pins and tacked the bushings in place. Main hitch frame.
-
4 pointsKinda did the same here, took the snow plow, chains, and weights off. Changed the front wheels with the roller chains over to regular turf tires. Changed oil and greased the tractor for a new season. Will mount the mowing deck tomorrow. Then the C160 will be ready for mowing duties.

4 pointsI added a HF 12ton air over hydraulic jack to mine. A little modification was needed but nothing too serious a little cutting and welding. Hands down a great decision never have to pump again. If you want more pics i can get them for you.
-
3 pointsBe careful with the tank. likes to leak where it's glued together. I would take the plug out if there is a replacement in the kit. Mine had the same carbatrader issues too cause it sat for years. That's prolly why the tank started leaking. The pump was a POS so I shelfed it. I be go to heck if a can of seafoam and some run time didn't cure it.

3 pointsI don't have one any one else got one to trade?!?! Same Briggs I have on a pressure washer and a really good motor. Tank comes off easy. Screws & bracket on the underside. Should be able to find a manual for it online.
-
3 pointsthinking there is a very tiny hole up through the center of the bottom of the stem of the carb a trader. Might have a little debris in it?

3 points300 lbs, but the issue is not the machine.....usually the operator. Anything can break. Those 60's cut nice and are heavy duty. Most of the stress is the pulling it around, much of the weight is on the ground wheels. Plus it is a good load on the drivetrain. Check a few things. The area where the frame bolts to the transaxle for cracks. The rear axle hubs for play. Clean the engine shroud cooling fins. Clean the hydro cooling fins. Run good quality clean engine and hydro oil and keep it topped off. Avoid roots and let r eat!

3 pointsVoltage regulator contains the diodes but it does require a decent 12v battery being connected for the regulation to work properly.
-
3 pointsBut - with Metric threads and fasteners...hand me the 15 mm spanner, would you, mate???
-
3 pointsI originally was going to paint it like a Ford 8N but then I saw a Cockshutt at a show at wanted to sort of copy that look.
-
3 pointsYour voltage regulator is on the flywheel cover. There should be 12 volts DC on the center lead with the key on. With the engine running there should be 36 volts AC +/- between the two outer leads.

3 pointsYesterday the BBT, who is also the local firewood tree spotter, and I went out to the forest and marked about 20 trees to be pruned out for this year's firewood. All beech this time. We'll commence to cuttin' right quick so it has time to dry. I also got the battery out of the Cinnamon Horse C160-8. I have a good used group 51 waiting to be installed.

3 pointsI got my father in law's old Mac 10 10 running last fall. It has a 16" bar. I find that to be rough on my back. I'm planning on getting an 18" bar for it this spring.

3 pointsI spent my 40 year engineering career in the steel wheel industry. Early in my carrier, I was doing stress analysis in the engineering and test facility. The computer room was separated from the test lab by a concrete block wall. On the other side of that wall was a bullwheel test machine for semi truck wheels. This machine had a big roller probably 6 feet in diameter that the semi truck wheel/tire was pushed into and rolled along at something like 40mph. The applied test load was usually twice the rated load of the test wheel. The tire was considered to be a consumable test supply. When one of those tires let go, you felt the noise as much as heard it - even in the neighbouring computer room. One day, we had an IT guy in from the corporate office working on the computer. He was between the wall (with the test machine about 10'away on the other side of the wall) and I was working at a terminal when one of those semi tires blew. Big bang, and I felt the pressure wave and the pressure wave that bounced off of the far wall of the room. I jumped, cringed a bit, then went back to work. Then I remembered the IT guy. He was peeking out from behind the computer with large eyes and looking kind of pale. In a shaky voice, he asks "that doesn't happen often, does it?"

3 pointsRichie Pugh posted this about a 1966 1056 original cost. My guess is 12 hp would have been $50 to $75 moe.

3 pointsIn my opinion ANY motor oil on the shelf today is comparable to or better than what was out there a half century ago. I use the house brand Tractor Supply 30 diesel motor oil. Diesel motor oil has more Zink anti-wear additives.
