14 pointsI have had this cart for years, but never took the time to do it right. I was working then did a quick job. I like because it all comes apart down to the tub and frame. Also, it is lite. At my age I like that. I have a Ford Transit connect which is a small van so that is why I am going with this. Just enough room for the tractor. The frame is an old generator frame, that I mounted to a 4c.u. tub. Also, I had some old spindles had them welded to some 3/4" pipe. I hope you enjoy the pick`s. Thanks for looking.

11 pointsBright sun and 73F today. So off came the blade, front weight, and rubber chains. I still have the 520 just in case. That blade and cab stay on year round. Tiller time.

9 pointsI am currently in the progress of doing a 4.5inch lift on my C141 to fit a diesel. the dash has to be raised and moved back to maintain the same angle for the longer steeringshaft.

6 pointsYou wouldn't think a maternity hospital would be so understanding of welding and grinding in lunch hour 😆
-
6 pointsNearly there! They're not available new so it's welding or no mower. I think it's been around 6 hours of work in lunch breaks at work so far.

6 pointsI was concerned this would turn into a heated feed/no feed discussion. Let's all stay civil. I usually follow the science of the bioligists that frown on feeding wild game and in some cases it is illegal. I understand the fact that the high contact of deer at feeding stations is the main cause of the spread of CWD and TB. Most outbreaks of disease can be traced back to penned deer and elk that were released or escaped from high fence pens. Here in Southern Pa farm country, feed is not a problem. There is more of a crop damage and road kill accident problem. On the 3000 acre lease I belong to in Northern Pa, after hunting season is closed in Jan., we annually feed 10 ton of corn to the deer and turkey. I have mixed feelings about this feeding. Winter kill of wildlife is a natural process that ensures the survival of the fittest and the culling of the weakest to keep the herd size in line with the feed available. As the browse line rises, only the stronger larger deer are able to survive. The birth rate also helps to keep the herds in check. A well fed doe will normally produce 2 or even 3 fawns. A poorly fed doe will have 1 or no fawns. I love to hunt and harvest deer especially in archery season and I also love to watch them year round. I also feed the birds. Some info on feeding. https://www.pgc.pa.gov/Wildlife/WildlifeSpecies/White-tailedDeer/Documents/feeding_deer.pdf

5 pointsKind of close, but I was able to maintain 36.5" to the outside of the 4" wide wheels. Waiting on the 4.00-8 Deestones to arrive.

5 pointsI'll hold off stripping machines down for a little longer. A week from this coming Saturday is only going to be a high of 18°. So I'm not in to big of a hurry, after all this is upstate New York.

5 pointsI have number 126, purchased in October from the original owners widow. 17 hours on it, signed by Cecil Pond. Perhaps the only one signed by him? I’m not sure?

4 pointsCleaned up and painted some spindle housings with Por 15. Ultrasonic cleaned the hardware in evaporust too.

4 pointsNeed to sneak over there if he goes on vacation and dump some oil on it! Or at least hit it in the right spots with WD or fluid film.???
-
4 pointsIt’s a bummer it sits out there… but hopefully it still brings him joy. There are quite a few yard art machines that could easily be resurrected to a worker or cruiser.

4 pointsA big block...(K241 up to K341) may be a big base or a small base. Oil pans are not interchangeable...

4 pointsIf you still have the old ignition switch, compare it to the new one. Not all Indak switches are configured the same, the terminals can be in different positions. If this is the case then you can use a small screw driver to remove the terminals from the plug and place them where they need to be. One very important note: Your new switch can not have a terminal marked "I" on it, if it does you have the wrong switch for a Briggs engine. Your switch should have a terminal marked "M", this should be hooked to the kill wire for the coil. Also let's hope that the new switch did not send positive battery power to the ignition coil. This would destroy the coil immediately. Not the end of the world as they still sell coils at a reasonable price, just a little more work.

4 pointsThanks for being a defender of our freedom. What branch of the service are you in? We are always glad to hear of people showing some love to the old family . Looking at the wiring diagram that @gwest_ca provided there are a couple things that come to mind. Is the switch you installed the correct switch, 103-991? Is the PTO switch to the blades turned off? Have you inspected all of the wires to see if there is chafing or mouse damage. The wires to the electric PTO switch need a very close inspection, also the white wire leading to the engine. Both of these wires are powered when the key is turned on. If you have a 12 volt test light you can use it in place of the fuse while testing. If there is a short it will glow brightly, when the short circuit has been eliminated it will go out. Hope this helps.
-
4 pointsif you can get the wire cleaned is there room for bare butt connectors. They would give the mechanical strength required and solder would seal the connection. Shrink tubing would insulate the joints.

4 pointsThis post shows a picture of every thing needed. Look for your tractor in the manuals section, the manual should have all of the part numbers. If you wish to use more than just implements, a slot to sleeve adaptor will allow you to use Brinly attachments. https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/toro-wheel-horse-slot-hitch-adapter/ Or you could just install a sleeve hitch. https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/toro-wheel-horse-brinly-clevis-hitch-sleeve-hitch-with-adjustment-plate-and-pin/ The above site also offers the lift cable if you need it.

4 pointsHere's a view looking out the north door of our shop last summer as a storm was coming in And a couple from a couple months back when I had to go down on the river in the wrecker...these are about 40 miles south of where I live so it's not completely flat everywhere here And finally these were taken yesterday on another little road trip into Texas in the rollback

3 pointsAfter boring the tapered holes for the tie rod studs, I welded the steering arms on.

3 pointsHere's a time lapse I shot from our shop window of Marine 1 being loaded and departing a few years back when Trump was visiting Chicago. Air Force One will fly into O'Hare and the support aircraft usually fly into Midway. My wife was working at O'Hare that same night and got the pic of Air Force One from her "office." IMG_0152.mp4

3 pointsLots of progress today… Snaked all the wires for the chargers. Zip ties for cords… Things fit pretty good… Painted wheels - Rustoleum Canvas White. Hubs and front caps - Regal Red. Finally found a use for math flash cards… I hate math so painting over the equations was quite therapeutic… Did the full @peter lena and lubed everything with Lucas Red… Getting there…

3 pointsContinues on the 520 trans filter fitting leak, o-ring was flat, Plus I installed a good PTO / brake. The PO let the hoop quick clip out and the hoop rubbed the bearing hub clean down to the snap ring groove. How could you not hear that?
-
3 pointsMeh! Already been there... done that. Was just over seeding here today too. 16:00, 75°

3 pointsAn excellent looking rig you have there. Nice choice using Red Wood under the tub, that will not rot for 50 years.
-
3 pointsGuessing you plan to stuff the tractor and the tub into the small van for use at shows? Good idea on the hitch pins & wing nuts for easy breakdown and transport.
-
3 pointsHappy Birthday Steve! Or Kevin! Or Chris! Whatever your name is! Maybe I’m clueless!

3 points@Fergus agree with others on your attempted save , not sure how difficult it is to remove or drop that deck , but that , would be the most important thing you could do to it regularly , dry it out in the sun if possible , clean out the bottom side , lubricate it with a soak down . scrape it down, leave it upside down when not in use , to dry out and soak in the oil to the metal. lightly sharpen blades , look for another deck . been doing this for years . this is my deck, just an idea that works , pete

2 pointsHmmm, never seen that before. Usually there's something left of the threads If it doesn't just slide right into that hole then that tells me there's probably enough metal to tap new threads. I would just go with a cheap 1 inch NPT tap off Amazon. Not like you're going to use that every day Other option would be to make a flange, drill and tap holes into the head to attach that way

2 pointsI'm getting away from anything Rust-olem these days. Not that their product is no good I just can't get them out of the can! Can of regal, can of self etch & a can of rusty primer and now a can of aircraft remover the valve quits with the can half empty or better. Not the little push thingy on the top the valve INSIDE the can. So the only recourse it to pitch it or get to out with the pistol. The latter option doesn't work so hot. My beef to Rust-olem has always been take a pic of the receipt & barcode and email it to them and I have always gotten a voucher for another one..... that does the same thing! Never a reason why this happens tho. Getting old now so going to switch horses (not in midstream tho ) and not waiting for them to come out with an app to get paint out of a can! Ok thanks for letting me rant.... Couple of ACE branded ones I did like EB.
