Entire contents of a long-time Wheel Horse dealership (60's thru 2020), it took 5 people, 7 hours, 1 enclosed trailer, 1 open trailer, 3 full size pickups. The owners of this dealership had an auction years ago and sold off the equipment, but kept the parts. And then they sold the building with the contents in it...... More photos to follow as I get thru it ( it will take months! ) I have very little idea as to exactly what all I have since I had so much help, but there are parts here ranging from RJ's to 520's and everything in between.

Trina's been workin' on disassembly and cleaning up the 417A for @JCM Jim. A Couple times during and before this she's mentioned that it would be nice if she had a "her height" table to grind/work on. I said use the blue one. She reminded me that the engine for Colossus is on it. Not my problem... 😂 Well she decided to go ahead and build her own work space. You folks may remember we have a serious tendency to use old recycled scraps whenever possible. You may also remember that over the last few months we've been helping out a local widow with some yard maintenance and also bought some tools and supplies from her. ALL of this wood and the little drawer set came from that source. She started by hunting down the top. Found a piece of 3/4" ply that was about the right size. The rest of the cuts were made based on the size of that piece. Then just rifled through the pile of stick lumber to make the base. A few screws and voila!!

Been messing around with some parts that need painted and were pitted but not rusted out. I read where it will adhere if you can paint over top of bedliner coating if done within the first 24 hours after the bedliner coating is applied. Tried a couple foot pads and they seem pretty durable. Trying it on a seat pan now. before paint after

I bought this from a new homeowner who found it in her attic. It looks as complete as can be except the exhaust. It has a different recoil than the B1290 on my RJ59 but looks to have the correct carb which mine doesn’t. Unfortunately the engine tag is not there.Going to mess with it later when I get a chance.

Figured some of you might get a good chuckle out of this...I know I did. Woke up this morning to a very windy day, now here it's not unusual for the wind to blow but this is a little excessive. 30-40 mph with gusts upwards of 60 mph I'm sure. Anyway I went to the coffee shop as per my usual Saturday morning routine, then came home unloaded the C81 off the trailer and Tasha and I went to town to pick up a few things at the store. Came back to find our camper moved. My first thought was that I forgot to park it in gear, but I checked and it was in fact parked in gear like I always park both trucks, I don't know how strong of a wind it takes to overpower the compression of a 455 Olds V8, but I'm guessing it must be pretty strong

And this jumped on the trailer. Guy took $100 for it. Obviously it doesn’t run but it has compression Couldn’t turn it down. From the model # chart it’s an 89. The one I have now is an 86. Is the only difference is one has points and magnum is electronic. This one has an hour meter 811 hrs my 86 doesn’t. Wouldnt let load but 2 pics. deck has a couple rusted out holes too

Got a nice metal fuel pump relay. This'll fit in the build much better than a plastic housing relay. Thanks to @squonk for the part number!

Started out my day by spraying a little paint. I chose to spray white today so that I had time to put my tranny back together. This way the tranny could get sprayed red tomorrow. @WHX?? caught wind that today was the day to put the tranny together so he was nice enough to stop by & lend a hand. Much appreciated too, specially when it came time to put the detent balls in, always nice to have an extra set of hands for that. Thanks for all your help today Jim!!! Should be ready to lay down a whole lot of red paint tomorrow.

If the switch is heavy enough for the load a relay is not nessasary. Relay's are usually rated higher. Use a small load to close the relay switch, let the relay carry the heavy load.

Think of the folks who are really suffering when filling your tank! Gas over $4 a gal and people are sitting in lines at Starbucks burning gas for overpriced coffee!

Yah but you neglected to tell the boys how we maimed TWO axle seals. I know now what I did then we put a champer on the lead in's on the cases. Just a bit with a hand file before bearings are seated. We really didn't have the right tool for the job but you under ther orchard tree guys know what I'm sayin. On the good side input seal went in with fingers .. one which I always screw up at least two or five times. Dan likes the input seals that Lowell has which are much easier to install than the SKF metal rimmed ones. We shoulda got a pic to explain why. BTW call me Dan ' fore you order more seals. Found where we can order them in bulk and you know how I like to have ten dozen on the shelf......

Generally pretty much what i do, id never think of asking any kind of money for a mower with no battery...and id be willing to take a picture of the meter or at least disclose what it says

They make those type predictions so we will feel good that the price is only $ 6.50!

With lumber prices being so high that is the way to go!

Ain’t no price of gas keeping the Bo’s from the big show!!l we are burning diesel 😳

You wouldn't use a high ZDDP in a modern gasoline engine in a car or truck because it could screw-up the catalytic converter but it good for old engines. Motor oils made for diesel engines have zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP) in them as an anti-wear ingredient. I buy the 30 weight diesel motor oil.

I'm new to the forum, just picked up a B100 auto. Got a lot of work to do and hope I can find help here. So, hello to everyone and looking forward to this little adventure.

@Jennifer @sjoemie himselfThat can be used for many different crops, you just have to change the seed plates.Did yours come with them? Yours is only the third one that I’ve seen that’s complete with the row marker. I have one complete with everything including the manual!

Jim and his Significant other, Patti came out to the house today and the 4 of us had a GREAT time puttering around with cleaning degreasing disassembly etc. The transmission drain plug is mashed and rounded so I'll need to do some surgery on the when I can get it facing upright. Jim and I did more disassembly on the transmission. Got the unit drained by removing the main feed pipe from the bottom side. Hubs are off. Wheel seals out. Wheel bearings checked good. We sanded and de-burred the axles. Inside of the transmission fan. Dirt level typical of the tractor. Trina and Patti spent some time Demuckifying the engine tins. The table works excellent. They also worked on stripping the paint from the hood. The citrus stripper did some good but it was too cold for it to work right. The auto body grinder will be kicked into use. Here's Jim checking over the other 417A. Me keeping tabs on Redsquare... Our friends brought the Meeha Mirror a new toy. In other news..... it turns out this engine is quite well "worn in". It runs well. Didn't smoke much at all that I noticed. But... The pistons are audibly loose in the cylinders. We'll check the other KT17 for loose-ocity at some point. Perhaps the other tractor runs and drives even better... Who knows?

Well it was boat maintenance day for the fishing rig...changed oil for engine and gear box. Now we just need some weather to cooperate so we can put some walleyes in the freezer!

Well it was time for my least enjoyable maintenance job of maintaining my horse in good shape...mower deck cleaning and sharpening...but it's gotta get done. I don't over do it. I knock most of the dirt/debris off and spray it off and let it dry in the sun, then spray some WD40 on the under side, sharpen and balance the blades, then grease it pretty good. I'm always satisfied and get the warm and fuzzy feelings when it's done though...she's ready for those baseball practice fields!

When I sell a tractor, I take a good used battery out of one of mine - we have three - and buy a new battery for one of mine. Never had any complaints ...

Ended up being a 2hr trip and he doesn't know how many hours, firm on 600...im gonna throw this one back, if he isnt willing to walk out and look at the hours, im not willing to drive 2hours to look at a tractor he wont put a 30 dollar battery in..

what's nice about wood is you can easily screw / attach other pieces to support odd shaped part etc. I have something similar using a cheap Harbo Fright dolly. Nice to push it out of the way when I get bored or want the space to work on something else.

Do they also work as a fuse too? I prefer less wire connections and devices if possible. But --- I have a parasitic drain issue on one and just can't seem to hunt it down. It seems to be one of the motors for the chute controls so maybe throwing a couple of relays inline should do the trick to disconnect them.

New to me too, but they do exist! Wonder if those Hillman drawers at the hardware store would have any that size, know they have nylon washers.

Older tractors were built in a time that people had common sense and motor oils had zinc. If you can find gasoline without ethanol, diesel fuel with little soybeans and oil with ZDDP, you can set the clock back to the days of common sense.

The 1 year old must have partied pretty hard with Unc today. She slept 2 hours on the tractor ride! Notice some of the mud from the sticky situations peppered on her face

Looking good.It does feel good once you get it installed back on the tractor. It’s like wrestling a 500 pound gorilla !

Agreed. Nice find. Excellent value there in parts alone. Use this list to go through the tractor. If you become a Redsquare supporter you can load all ya want. 👍

All 3 and 4 speeds factory spec is 1.5 qts. All 6 and 8 speeds is 2 qts. I put 2 qts in all manual transmissions. Least expensive 80-ish gear oil you can get.

They do not work as a fuse. But if you use a relay to send power to your shoot it would be a positive disconnect for those accessories.
  46. 3 points
I don't know how @ebinmaine is wiring it in, but a relay can be useful in systems using safety switches so that nearly all of the load is removed from them.

The pump I'm using should be fine but I figured I'd give it a little insurance.

Here is what I did in a similar situation recently and I'm happy with my decision... I passed on a 96 520h with a fuse blowing issue with 1050hrs. 48" deck needed patched. Ran and moved well (fuse blew when shut off for some reason). Seller wanted 400. It was overall decent shape. 6 of 10 all considered... so i thought it was a steal! Actually came with weights and a short chute too! I decided that someone else could hopefully enjoy since I realized I have enough tractors (i know it's not popular opinion to some, lol). I have a total of 4. That being said, i still am looking to upgrade and replace one of mine and also I like helping members and enthusiasts find deals and parts as MANY have done for me.
