I've been a closet lubrication expert for quite a while now. It is no fun just having one horse to keep lubed up, I have 5 and I could still lube some more if I had the room. My passion spills over to oiling my tools, my Silverado, my Schwinn's (2), my trailers, etc. I have an oil can collection that I keep oiled. Sure, I could just have one horse, but like the tin man said..."Lead on Hare."

I just wanted to drop a few lines here and thank Lowell, aka Wheel Horse Parts and More for doing what he does. I received my 2" rear receiver hitch today and I couldn't be more thrilled! Yeah I know, it's just a tractor right? No, It is a big deal to me since I pull some heavy loads around my property in the form of cut up fallen trees, mostly pine. The tongue weight on my 5 x 8 trailer can get quite heavy. What I previously had installed was putting a LOT of stress on the UniDrive and I was worried it may crack or damage it. Without getting to far into it, that ball mount is still bring sold on Ebay. Can't say enough about Made In USA! Quality craftsmanship with quality parts, the way it should be! Thank you Lowell!

Very windy list night. Loud noise about 4AM. Only damage I see is a dent in the spouting. And the bird feeder got punished...really lucked out..

You use 50 year old stuff you have to assume there will be breakdowns so some backup is needed. As you get older wrestling implements on and off is an issue. Also different implements function best with specific addons (weights tire type etc).. Some implements need more HP many do not so why waste gas...

@TJ Salyers we all look at tractor need / use differently , did I need 2 more horses ? it was the cost and opportunity to bring another one back , thats what lured me in . the initial obvious problems , and the correction of the rest of it , never to be a trailer queen , but a solid go to for lawn work and plowing / blowing snow. the main line of set up and function is shared by all 3 , making for solid reliability . my main concern if I were to sell of any of them , would be to hopefully find another enthusiast that would maintain it like I do. always shed kept , and enjoyed , just back from a cul de sac drive with one , they like the exercise , pete

For me it’s a hobby and a collection. Having one tractor makes you a tractor owner. Having more than one and you can call yourself a collector/tinkerer/hobbyist. I have a few newer machines that do yardwork and rather than swap attachment out I keep one with a plow and weights on it year round and another that pretty much has a mower deck hanging off if all the time. But my 60’s vintage machines are just for fun and taking to tractor/machinery shows.

In the early 70s, a neighbour of mine used to ‘paint’ all the seams of his car, internal included, every year with ‘Creosote’ to hold back rust! I bet he had to drive with all windows open for a few weeks, (months?) afterwards. 🤧

My second passion, and this is new, is memorizing NAPA part numbers. I already know all of the Wheel Horse transmission Part Numbers.

I got one with a rototiller on it, one with a snowblower, one with a front plow blade, one with a wagon attached and two with mower decks on them. When you get old like me it's a pain taking attachments off season to season. Especially wheel weight and tire chains, so I leave them ready for their perspective jobs.

I’m thankful for the right to keep and bear arms in a safe and responsible manner. I’m thankful that my wife and daughters will try any meat I toss on the table at least once. I’m thankful for a plentiful amount of hares al day every day. I’m thankful for small game season too. Peter’s on the smoker and should be done around 12:30 or 1:00. Yum.

Ive got 3 Zero Turns, 5 tractors, 26 chainsaws...on an acre of land with no trees. Its a hobby..

Every time I get one or two or four more, I try to look around and figure out what has to go. It’s so hard for me to sell stuff. Now that storage is running low, I just need to get rid of OTHER stuff. No Horse left outside!

Yup. "Horsing" a recycler deck and snow blower on and off is beginning to be an issue.

Because we can I have one with loader/hoe, one for mowing, one with 2 stage blower and cab, one for shows and back up...

My favorite DIY concoction. D series 3 point made to fit my Bronco. Lifts my 250lb disc set like it isn't there. A frame is homemade too. And a suitcase weight bracket. Fits any front hitch. 80lbs.

@stevasaurus, I knew it , I could smell the oil oil from here , probably 5-30, glad to hear that you stay after your stuff. for me its like a reflex , just giving a metal anything some lubrication and a tweak is automatic . car/ truck body / frame , lubriplate , chain and cable lighter spray , finds body seams you didn't even know were there , watch for the oil film next day , then lubriplate , heavy open gear over spray on related metal . bombproof rustproofing , tailgate , etc. think ill just get back to my expresso , lucas latte , keep it oily , pete

It probably is at your house. Not knocking 520s, because they are excellent machines. I just think there needs to be some clarification as to what criteria makes it 'the king' for you. There are larger more capable machines: C195, D180, D200, and even the D250 to name a few. Beyond that, the 520 series do have more hp than say a C160- but I'd trade my 520-H up for a decent C160 in a flat minute. Same for a Kohler powered 416. Some of the members here have some show machines, and some workers. All of mine have a job. Why do I have more than one? Because I like having more than one. Will most of my tractors use most of my attachments? Sure, but what's the fun in that? My zero turn is my primary mower, but two of my tractors act as backups should the ZTR need to be offline for a week or two. At some point even these old tractors will become too expensive to continually change my herd. I've sold more than bought lately, and I'm not the guy to go out and buy $1000 tractors. Until then, this is still a relatively cheap hobby that offers the benefit of a hard working machine to boot.

In my defense the holes would not be in the tractor its self. Sides, I keep tellin' Jim that I have a welder and a grinder that can fix any hole in metal.
