I recently repainted my rural mailbox Regal Red. Looks great! My neighbor's boxes were rusting so while I had the gray primer in hand, I hit the rust spots. One neighbor actually had the nerve to ***** at me that I didn't 'finish' the job. Seriously dood? Get off your A55 and buy a can of paint! So... I had 'leftovers' ... pumpkin orange, hot pink, lime green, sunshine yellow, that the Treasurer has painted her garden gnomes with. He had himself a 'tie dyed' mailbox for a couple weeks. He repainted it finally. Hasn't spoken to me since!

I’m sure this topic is out there somewhere but I looked back a ways and didn’t see it. Let’s see those rj-58 and 59’s. Here are my all original and my mostly restored to start things off. Both are stored away in the garage for the winter. The tool box pic is from the original. The old gentleman I bought it from bought it and it had it. I couldn’t bring empty it out or to take it off. Everything in there tells a story. The little guy is my oldest son Aiden who is now 12 on the restored one before I restored it.

So, are you suggesting that laying on one’s back in the mud, with a hunk of rock biting into your ribcage while losing pieces and cussing is not the ideal way to do? Huh.

It’s been a great fall & winter to find some nice Whee Horses. This is likely the nicest Wheel Horse for the money I have ever bought. $500.00

Never thought id find one, but I lucked into this little baby this summer. C-81 with the loader, looks ruff and it is but it runs good and I'm impressed with it. Saved me a lot of work already. Needs cosmetics but I can jump on it and use it as I need it and that's what matters to me. Only picture I've taken of it , just after getting it home.

I use a motor cycle lift to work on my tractors. I made the extension block that you see on top for 2 reasons. 1 - 3" of extra height. 2 - It's only 1/4" wider than the frame on each side. This allows you to assemble the whole tractor while it is on the lift, even the belt guard. The tabs on top fit inside of the frame and keep the tractor from from sliding off side to side. The tabs on the bottom keep the extension from sliding off of the lift. Comfortable height to sit on a shop stool & work on the tractor. Don't take up much room either.

I have a lift table like Squonk but you have to take the belt guard off to use it. Tachmatics cause issues also. Build a table and pick her up slide table under it......

For me, the two link Vee Bar chains on turf tires work best on packed or loose snow, ice, mud, grass, and gravel. Basiccly any surface they can penetrate to get a bite. On my steep paved driveway, the rubber chains on turfs work best. Steel has poor traction on a smooth hard paved surface. Just my experience. I have never used them, but I hear the X type cross chains are very good and ride better than the = cross chains.

Finally got to play with my Snowmotractor last night. There’s some work to do, but it moves and the first test run was a success!

My brake LINING is NOT the whole brake band, but just the friction material. Brake bands rarely go bad, just the lining.

One other tip that I can offer is to spray a guide coat on the part before you sand. A guide coat would be a contrasting color to the part. (red part use gray paint or primer) Cheap spray cans work good for this. Mist a very light coat of paint on the part before you sand. When you're sanding you will sand until the guide coat is gone. This helps to ensure that you have sanded everything.

Best not to be giving me ideas. Maybe the next tractor I build I'll put every color under the sun all over the thing and name it "Craig". @AMC RULES

There is a special paper called "Wet or Dry" that one would have to use. Regular sandpaper falls apart. https://www.rockler.com/wet-dry-sandpaper Basically you keep the surface wet while sanding. Keeps the paper from 'clogging' with the residue.

Well played buddy. Mister Man you be nice or I'll get @Mrs. Rules and the BBT and they'll give you a talkin' to. The original idea for the tractor build came up because of the size of the engine. Then I got to thinking that it would be cool if I stretched it in every direction and put larger tires on, etc. The name was actually based on the ancient meaning of Colossus. I've never been a comic buff and was only vaguely aware of the Marvel Character until we started searching for ideas and a color scheme... At one point early in the build it was brought to my attention that it had a steam punk type look and I decided I wanted "metal" colors, mostly. The frame, frame extension, transmission, front axle. All are a dark mocha color with a very very heavy metallic flake. The rest is what you just mentioned with possible exceptions in the future based on whim of the moment. Here's a reminder of the hood ornament Trina ordered from @Wheel Horse 3D Grey. HE 3D printed it and assembled it then Trina hand sanded, masked, and painted it.

Went for a run this morning and he runs as good as gold, no hunting or hesitation. Tried uphill and down Dale and everything was fine. So it was an ignition issue not fuel or carb. That little 10 penny electronic thingummy Bob was the problem. I will make one up in a metal cover as a permanent part. Thanks as ever to all who offered help and advice. I now have all the parts to fit an electrical fuel pump if I want to lol. Mick

Found this on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Novelty-Ceramic-Shaped-Handle-Police/dp/B01BIWSAU0 There's a few other places that show it on google, they call it police box handle mug. Probably to get around the copyright for Dr. Who

My lift table is used for more than just the tractors. Unloading the truck, moving Ac units and is the base for my engine run stand.

Iowa gets ice and then snow and normally high wind forming large drifts. I use a 520H with turf tires and rear tire chains and an Original Snow Cab to stay warm and cozy. I just moved 14.5 inches of snow last snow event without any problems. Just my 2 cents.

Then the forklift type one or a hydraulic table/dolly like used in warehouses would be it. Small and mobile . Just lifting 20 inches is already a tremendous improvement for ones back and comfort while working on them.

special gear design, looks like a screw type gear (can only be driven by the right gear, spinning the left gears is not possible) I know Bolens used them in their transmissions, impossible to move them by pushing, but turn easy at the driveshaft.

Their reward is their action. Their conscience and the feeling that they did right. There is an inner peace within one self afterwards. One walks through life with dignity and seeing and finding the good in people. As for the recipients of such sacrifice from another, if their need was a legitimate one, they too will have such inner peace and hopefulness in human kind learning and perhaps doing the same for others one day. The ones that keep asking and asking, they have to live with themselves. Unless their IQ is at the imbecile level they know what they are doing. Eventually it will catch up to them. It always does. it is then too late because they never learned. I learned through out my life that almost always the more we try to get , the more it runs away from us.At the same time how we are dictates what we find. Some people are always complaining about every body they came across during the day and the interactions they had. They seem never to have a real good day.Is it possible? I on the contrary I seem to always come across good people and many time have pleasant surprises in my day. ( The subject for an upcoming thread).

If you try to use fine sand paper dry it will continually plug up on you. If you keep your paper wet and flush the surface frequently with water, the paper will not plug up as easily. Make sure every surface to be painted is sanded, Pay close attention to crevasses and corners.

I love the Commando 800 , my father bought one new in 1972 , plowed his garden , cut grass , hauled stuff in his home made wagon. I inherited the machine in 1991 , ran it for years till the motor decided to blow. I have one that I am picking up in June at the Big Show , going to take both apart and make one. Plan is it is going to be the mower with 36in RD deck .

`Theres really only one thing that will cause fuel to come out of the carb like that and - as already mentioned - the float. or, specifically the needle/seat. And unfortunately the import carbs seem to have problems there. I use them and have bought prob 6-8 of them and have had that problem on 2 of them. On one it sorta fixed itself. on tear down and doing a flush out with carb cleaner it quit. On another I ended up buying a "kit" (which is basically gaskets and needle/seat) So, bottom line is .... its very likely gonna be the needle/seat - (A slim possibility the float itself)

No hour meter. Looks to be missing a battery too. I'd want to see it run for that much.

Possible when you replaced the grommets some trash - old tiny pieces of geometric - got in the carb fuel line and now are sticking needle open.

The used brake band may be oil soaked making it not perform as well as a new band, and it is probably worn down already. If you buy a new band it will be new.
