My trail rides always seem to happen on Sunday afternoon for some reason …and I’m always by myself . @JCM you need to haul down a machine one day and ride along! So it warmed up a bit (29 degrees) only took acouple minutes with the wife’s hair dryer and the throttle cable was moving again on the 315

Finished the homemade rear wheel weights. Not pretty but functional. I don't like the lug nuts but they work till I find what I want.

Got Hank out for a little exercise today.

As noted above I did get back to finish installing the PTO disc on the snowblower 520H. Went pretty smooth all in all. Greased the needle bearings as noted above as well. Cleared some of the walking path around my mother in law's house but left some for tomorrow as well. It's supposed to warm up for a day or two. I took a few pictures of the weight /reflector bracket I added last summer. The weight the PO had on it wasn't enough and really didn't work well, so I made up something different. Seems to. be enough weight for what I'm doing, but I may add a bit more.

I was 42 very aged years old before I realized life is about being truly happy and content. The last several years of my life have absolutely been the best.

Odds are if you're blocking off air by using the choke you're in need of fuel. Likely the carb needs a cleanup/rebuild.

More snow removal! Mostly used the blower on the 416H but I was able to get the D160 and move some snow. Haven't really used the D160 in year's other then snow removal (mainly because engine troubles aka valve seat) but a new replacement block and fresh parts along with a P series electronic ignition conversion has the ol girl running good and going easier on fuel. I might have to find another 48" for the 416 and convert the current 48" on the 416 back over to the D series and mow some lawn with it this summer for the first time in a very long time!

Welded up some rebar and scrap flat bar to clamp on my cultivator bar. Made a nice little drag rake until I get the larger one built for the Bronco. I hate stutter bumps in my gravel driveway. This is at least a short term fix until spring. The 867 didn't mind dragging it around, even if it was just cobbled up.

Wasn't aware there was a Wheelhorse blimp but I'm fairly new around here.

Dave, I'm sorry I didn't get to your post before @stevasaurus closed it. You can use the 103991 switch in place of the 8362 with some minor rewiring. The 103991 is a three position (Off, Run/Accessory and Start) where the 8362 is a four position switch (Off, Run/Accessory, Run and Start). Since the PTO switch has to be in the OFF position to start the engine I see no advantage to the run only position. You can pick up a key switch wire harness on for around $ 10.00. You could use terminals you may have on hand but the wire harness is better because it uses the Packard 56 terminals which hold much better. These two drawings will show where the wires on your switch will be placed on the 103991, The "L" on the 8362 will be "A" on the 103991, otherwise the R goes to R, the B goes to B, the M goers to M and S goes to S.

After a hard day of prep work, wet sanding, and spraying. I was able to kick back and admire a nice Desert Sunset.

You need to quit obsessing over the fuel filter, that ain't the problem. Like Ed said, when replacing a fuel filter in old, rotten, ethanol wasted fuel hose, expect some debris to be knocked loose. I expect the issue is in the carburetor. He changed the spark plugs but we didn't see the number on those Champions.

I'm not on the street plowing snow down here, but I put a little rearview mirror I got from Target on my Wheel Horse so I can see if anyone is coming up behind me when I'm tooling around the subdivision.

Well, it's been quite a week. I developed a raspy cough around Tuesday or Wednesday, and of course the home Covid test came back +, so my wife's staying at her mother's. Fortunately after a couple of days the symptoms have all but disappeared. Tracking said my new PTO disc was due Saturday, and storm due Friday. It actually made it onto the local delivery truck Friday, but didn't get delivered. The carrier didn't have access to the delivery area because of........snow! We have the drives plowed at both my house and the MIL's so the driveways got cleared. Yesterday I got out in the morning and decided to clear walkways and so forth with my old walk behind snowblower. I noticed a lot of dry grass around the spark plug and decided to check. Sure enough there was a mouse nest inside the tins, so I proceeded to take them off and pull out the nest. Temp was barely into double digits, but cleared it out and got done what I needed. Clutch part got delivered in the afternoon, so I proceeded over to the MIL's place and started to install. Friction material was completely gone from the old one. I didn't finish because I ran out of light and sensation in my fingers. The phone even quit so I have limited pictures. It didn't like the cold either. Temperature's jumped all the way up to 23 so I'm heading back to finish. I sure miss that balmy weather in southern NH.

Got the starter taken apart this evening. Bushings and brushes look excellent so this'll be a simple clean up and reassemble after painting.

We got the starter cleaned up and painted. It's awaiting reassembly. I took the heads off, wiped out the bores and took a few pics. This engine has been rebuilt .010 and appears to have been used some since. Cross hatching is still evident. The front bore has 2 lines to the eye that can't be felt by my or Trina's touch.

Whenever an Onan acts a fool i pop off the filter and use my hand to manually choke the engine for a instant...this puts a high vacuum on both jets, flushes the fuel orifices, and puts a heavy draw on the fuel system...usually clears them up.

@Handy Don I do have a rear lock differential I can activate with my left foot holding it down as needed and release when done, hardly ever need it . As far as the front axle I am not sure but will consult my manual. All great questions gentlemen and would expect nothing less from the RS boys.

BTW, running even a non-smoking engine in an enclosed space for any length of time is just plain dangerous to your health.

We spent some time this morning moving the gas pipe over one floor joist. Did the soapy water bubble test. All good. Test cookery was done for brunch. Here's the final setup. The butcher block top was offline about 3/32". Bothered me about 0% but the female person needed to fix that. Trina took the butcher block section off and clamped both pieces to the work bench and sanded them even. Recoated the edge with poly. She also built and installed a shelf above the stove. We both have a serious liking for wood that has a lot of character. Knots, rough sawn edges, tree centers showing grain, and especially bark edges. In the pile of wood stuff we got from a friend Trina found a hunk of red oak with a bark edge as seen below. She drilled and screwed that to a 2 x 4 and screwed the assembly to the wall studs. Remember when houses had wall phone jacks??? @Oldskool Mike sent us the horse shoe near the top of the wall. The Paint Department cleaned it up a bit and sprayed it a bronze color. The Construction Supervisor has declared this project finished.

Make the front end changeable between wheels and skis. You'd then have use of it all year round. Summer on the dunes, winter on the snow.

The old number is RS14YC, for newer engines it is RS17YX, either one is correct but the newer one has the small center electrode and works a bit better.

It's in the manual. I don't do it because dirt may drop in, no matter how much you clean. I too, just take my time and do other things while it burps.

happens all the time when installing new filters in old fuel lines.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering about that. I pulled the belt off the other day and I thought it was on the inner groove but I wasn't sure when I went back. Alignment looked a little off when I looked. I can easily correct when I go back.

This is why I use the blue clear fuel line. You can see what's happening....

@Chestnut FYI Blower belt should be on the outside groove of your PTO pulley. Inner groove for tiller and mower.

Why did you tap them? Why not just drill holes big enough for 3/8 or 1/2 all thread and nut and washer up both ends?

I did grease the bearings. Found a good Youtube video for the replacement before I did it.

After running a couple minutes WITH THE DOORS OPEN I see that the belt began running along with the engine. I’ll be adding guides or tabs as needed to stop it at idle. I’m just so glad it fired up after all this time!

@formariz You my friend, are a true artist! Your work is absolutely incredible. I certainly hope that you have someone to pass your talent and knowledge onto.

It’s already amazing. And you’re not even finished yet. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t even draw the pencil lines on there. And it’s thicker at the bottom than at the top! Just getting to the stage where you could start carving must have taken a ton of effort. I suspect your arms got a workout in the process… I really think your vocation did a great job when it picked you. Steve
