16 pointsMy son ( @WH1618speed ) restored this 418-A that he picked up at the 2021 WH show. After he sold the mower deck off of it, he had $150 invested in the tractor. This is the first time it has seen any real work since the restoration paired to a single-stage snowblower. Thad (Ohio)

7 pointsOff Topic Sowwy ! (my emojis are not working) I bought a backup camera from Amazon. Didn't work. Contacted the manufacturer, and they sent another. It's all good. Nope! That one didn't work either, after a week. They sent another. THAT one worked. I left a somewhat bad review on Amazon. The manufacturer contacted me, saying if I removed my review, they would send a FREE upgrade. Well, they did resolve the problem, so I removed it. They sent an upgraded camera......Then they sent another replacement camera for the one that didn't work. Then they sent another upgraded camera. At this rate, I can put them on my Horses !

7 points2 Black Hood Eight speeds with plows here… respectfully disagree with the hydro crowd… gears work great on Michigan’s snow!!! And look at my arms!!!

5 pointsOriginally it was a 1077 , now it’s has a 12hp K301 in it. Mason and I brought it back to life and now we are taking it apart to clean it up . We took the battery tray and the dashboard out to sandblast them. It’s giving us something to do during the day since we both tested positive for Covid and are quarantining together.

5 pointshaving played this game , use the near by support racking at your local T/S as a belt stretch verification to your old belt size fit. a lot of the belts on the rack are incorrectly sleeved . find a solid pipe end point , and match up old / new belts . doing the belt over belt stretch on a pipe pull , my belt replacements have been exact with no issues , pete

5 pointsBeen busy with life in general but started “digging “ into it again. In need of a little therapy, and this is it.
-
5 pointsThanks Kevin. We are through the worst of it now. He brought Covid home from school last Thursday and I was lucky enough to catch it too. Now we just have cold symptoms. We are grateful to have this to work on. It’s like therapy, it helps the healing.

5 pointsNephew bought a truck with a lift. I asked him if they knocked any money off because it had a lift kit. Why he asked? More maintenance, less fuel mileage, less towing capacity, gotta lift everything up further to get it in the truck, etc. Truck was useless to me, was my answer. Plus the only time it will ever go off road is when it's parked in a gravel driveway.

5 pointsBack in my High School days if we wanted a few days off, It was common to just allow our facial hair to grow....automatic 2 day suspension. This happened quite often during deer season. BTW, the entire school district was closed for the first day of deer season.

5 pointsI know it’s challenging to take pictures of animals… so y’all will have to read words instead. I just caught Lynx cleaning his undercarriage, with all his front weight bearing in the once broken leg. He still has a limp, but is getting around just fine inside, outside, etc. Ok, here’s a picture of him resting anyway. He’s got a rough life.

4 pointsWorse I did was glue a quarter to the floor of the cafeteria and connect a 10,000 volt transformer to it.
-
4 pointsAnother thing to consider is mounting the camera where you can see the hitch and be able to drop right on the ball when hooking up. Sure does beat jumping in and out 10 times to see you are a mile off.
-
4 pointsits amazing on any full or even partial restore - - or for that matter just a repaint of the wheel rims, can change the look of a horse -- the difference of rusted rims then to nice painted rims makes huge appearance look improvement

4 pointsDo not use those tools. Belts do not stretch. The sides wear down giving the false impression that the belt is longer. If you measure a belt with one of those stretchy thingys and the sides are worn down, you will get a measurement longer than the belt was when it was new. Those tools will get you in the ball park but that's it. A 1/2" wide belt could be worn to 3/8" and you would never know it. Mark the outside of the belt with chalk. Use a tape measure for the O.D. Use your best judgement of what the width should be.

3 pointsI got an ignition switch from @76c12091520h Brian Badman. Because it's a change from OE and my custom wiring harness I modified the schematic diagram BBT had printed out for us the other day. Finished up the wire installation using a 5 prong replacement holder @953 nut had mentioned awhile back. One of the ingenious PO modifications was to drill the original switch hole way too big instead of finding the correct switch. I found a couple thin washers and drilled them out a bit so they would hold the new switch snugly. New switch is set right in nice and happy with a keychain from @wheelhorseman Lowell at Wheelhorse Parts and More. Last known thing to do is make up a wiring harness for some nice LED lights and mount those in pre-existing holes.

3 pointsGot some much needed seat time in Ohio sadly I did not bring my snow blower up Sunday so it had to wait till Tuesday so the 520 had to take a beating clearing snow. had 14-18" third pic is at uncles place clearing his concrete with the blower as thats where it was hibernating 44' 2 stage is an absolute beast with any of this snow so long as wind does not blow the powder back in your face need to find a cab so it wont affect me. blower was mounted on my k341 swapped C-175 have to make some new threads on clutch adjustment rod and re-do the outer bearing as it is sloppy. thatll happen when i tear motor down to deal with internal engine noise.

3 pointsI called the local radio station, told them I was the principal, and school would be closed on account of snow. Hardly anyone showed up. The real principal was really ticked. I was 15. Didn't tell my best friend until we graduated...

3 pointsWant to give a big THANK YOU to @Jeff-C175 ! I was needing some help with the wiring on the Work Horse and he really came through ! He sent me a Parts and Service Manual, as well as a color coded wiring diagram. So in my typical, not quite, but almost anal fashion; I had to go to OfficeMax and print it off, put the pages in sheet protectors, and put it in a binder. Thanks again Jeff !… so now it’s time to take the wiring harness back out, make a few changes as far as wiring in for tail lights, and rerouting the harness as it shows in the manual.

3 pointsI’ve not had active shooter training, but am licensed to conceal and those kind of go hand in hand. If ever I’m in that situation, I’ll be sure to bulrush that SOB if that’s my only option. Much better odds than running directly away.

3 pointsI graduated in 1969 and can not remember any school shootings or bomb threats anyware during that time. There were pranks done in schools back then but I don't believe they were made with the same intent and severity. Bob

3 pointsI just spoke to the gentleman selling the motor ad he said it came off a old wheel horse that he bought for parts. Didn't think it was original to the tractor he bought but runs perfect and doesn't smoke. Said the shaft is 3/4" and 2 1/2 " long.

3 pointsNo more calls folks, we have a Grand Prize winner!! Yup, been there - back in my High School days (68-72), it was a popular occurrence to have someone phone in a bomb threat to avoid a math test. We were the first graduating class from the new High School - moved in in early 1969. Seems we had a rather "talented" individual in our group that would do just that. The new School had a pay phone in the lobby outside of administration - most of those threat calls originated from that phone. One day "Norman" called in a threat, not knowing that the vice Principal was standing right behind him ... he hangs up the phone, gets detained and expelled. Bill

3 pointsI think I may have found a solution to one particular issue. Over the years I’ve spent countless hours searching for various items and not finding them, only to find said item whilst on the hunt for something else. So now if I can’t find what I’m looking for within a few minutes, I pretend to look for a different thing, Naming out loud a ‘Pretend’ item/tool seems to confuse the shop ‘Gremlins’, who delight in hiding things. They then, hide the item I’m ‘pretending’ to search for, and reveal what I actually want! (Perhaps one Gremlin can only hide one thing at a time). For those of you who repeatedly lose multiple items at any given time, Sorry, you could be housing a family of the little ‘Blighters’!😈😈👹 p.s. Of course, I could always put tools back where they belong after using them, but where’s the fun in that? 😃😃
