10 pointsThis was F/B for a while now, so I sent him a message. This with the commando should keep me busy till spring. It is really dirty but that is what you get when you mow. Looks like this was only a mower its whole life. I hope you enjoy the picks.

8 pointsI'm the little guy on the back, the year is 1978 with my uncle is the driver. Anyone know what model this is?
-
8 pointsYou can buy a new one for some $$ or do what I do... 1 clothes pin fast idle 2 full throttle...

7 pointsDecided it was time to get wagon out and fix it. has i was disassembling i thought of ways to fix the front axle because i knew it was messed up. but before that i had to look at the long side panels which the one needs some repairs. now after i got the side panels off i flipped it over and looked at axle. i decided i am going to cut out the square tubing someone tried fixing it with before and i will bolt in some thick angle iron. that should keep it from breaking. i also have another idea for the bolts to hold sides to keep it from crushing the metal because i am not going to use wing nuts on the sides. i will put some sort of spacers in the holes. pictures may be out of order. i do not know model number of the wagon. its missing the decal for the serial and model. i do know i narrowed it down by the side panel decals but cant really remember lol

7 pointsJust some junk I picked up in the last six months. Some recoils and parts. Nice 1290 and check mark 6-12 Silvertown. 2021 wasn't bad year

6 pointsCleaned a couple carbs and rebuild. This one came off a recently purchased K181. Motor seems to be in great shape with minimal ring wear, bore within spec. Ill see if I can get her running tomorrow. The carb is the worst I’ve seen in a wile,I really like the colors inside this one😉She cleaned up nicely though.

6 pointsReceived a late Christmas present from my friend Joel last night. He has found a new hobby and is having a lot of fun with it. I'm thinking that this will look great hanging on the outside of my garage.

6 pointsFine looking vehicle, my first car never looked that nice It was a 4 door '65 Chevy Impala, 327, with bucket seats out of a Pontiac Grand Prix. It was rough to say the least, but it ran good. It was mine and I worked to earn enough to buy it. Mom raised 4 of us kids, nobody ever told us we were poor. But she taught us right, if want something go out and earn it, no matter what it is. My first job was delivering papers at 12 years old so I could buy myself a bicycle. I just retired last year, I feel now I've earned enough to enjoy whatever time I have left.

6 pointsI appreciate the technical lengths you've gone thru to correct that problem.

5 pointsShort in the wiring or something.... they are machines made by man and the only option is good insurance. Look at the bright side Ritchie least your entire truck wasn't torched too. Nice Dan was going to ask about the donor transaxle. I know he said he didn't have a spare in the parts yard. Didn't know he used it for double duty as a push plow. Any idea why it let loose? Quit zooming in on the sticker on the side guys!

5 pointsI've used a regular drill bit to get the round size right then a triangle shaped file to get the corners squared. A bit of time occupied and works well enough.

5 pointsIt's going to be over 50 degrees here again today, suppose I should check to see if the tractors start after just sitting all this time waiting for some action. Here we are already into January, and still it looks like a couple more weeks before we get any real cold temps. We've had a little snow here and there, but let it sit and it will melt by mid afternoon. I have the plow and the blower set higher than the snow we've gotten, because of the gravel driveway.

5 pointsAll I will comment is when I had questions about my 551 engine @formariz answered all my questions. With that I raise my new years glass. Have a great new years and I thank you,

5 pointsDear Santa. The pig on the Traeger was amazing tonight. I used this recipe. Love, Pullstart

4 pointsHi all and a very happy new year to one and all. I thought it might be time to start a new thread about what you do on a daily basis, whether tractor related or not. Our NYE was spent with 7 dogs, all ignoring the fireworks and festivities as much as possible to welcome in the new year. No plans for today but just bimble about. Its really warm here for the time of year which is welcome as we'd usually have snow. Oh, I made a fixed link for the plow frame so I can put down pressure on the blade if required. Seems to work OK. 4 pointsWhile working on my garage cleaning task I found these LED marker lights that I probably bought 4 or 5 years ago. My plan back then was to install em on my GT1600 plow tractor…so today that’s what I did. Decided to leave the factory reflectors and mount the new lights just below. Pretty happy with the results.

4 pointsI am negotiating a deal on a late '60's Commando 7. Tractor data doesn't include this model. Is it a bit more rare? only export model? He doesn't want money but my Kohler M16 I have just laying around. He claims the original Kohler is running, everything is working. Mowing deck is included but needs a LOT of fabrication to get put to use. Would this be a fair deal? PS. are those 8" front tires stock?

4 pointsThis past fall while mold board plowing one of my friends Simplicity Landlord's had a major tranny failure. No warning noises, just BANG and it stopped moving. He scored a complete used tranny for $60. Today we swapped the tranny's out and got his tractor set up for snow plowing duty. Pretty easy swap on these tractors, about 3hrs start to finish.

4 pointsI hear ya Jay.. I got two in now and next is going to be two 953s that I hope to get one out of.
-
4 pointsJust shown SWMBO that and told her she should have one. It'll go well with her new reclining Lazyboy.

4 points@ RETIRED WRENCHER , agree with jeff above , compaired to what i normally see , thats in good shape , leaf blower blow down , base line service , steering end links replaced , note rust dust at front king pin area , jack that up off ground to grease those fittings , due a lubrication do over at every movement point . flip that deck over , give it a thorough lubrication spray down , and cleaning . let it soak in the oil , grease those spindles , ( only if you want to ) , looks very savable , good lick with it , pete

I have never had this issue before with any of my 50 or so Wheel Horses...But apparently Its a common Kohler thing...Oh well ,,,,easy fix !!

4 pointsI had a rat in the garage wall. I set a snap trap. Every day for weeks the wiley rat somehow tripped it without getting caught and took the bait. One day there was a HALF a mouse caught! I put the remaining half under the bait pedal and FINALLY! got the sumbeech. And it was a BIIIGGGGGG!!!! RAT! They don't get that big being stupid, but he couldn't resist his desert.

4 pointsAgree. Excellent use of advanced technology… But I think they should be painted either Regal Red or satin black. I mean, there are standards that should be met…

4 pointsHappy New Year to all, may all your Wishes come true. ..and may 2022 become a good Year for us all.
-
4 pointsHappy new year to all. I spent NYE in my shop part time and trying to keep my wife from doing things she is not supposed to do for the next 4 weeks like bending or lifting over 5 lbs. She is feeling better evey day and getting restless because of physical restrictions during her recovery. I will probably do the same today as well. Slow and steady on the 953 as well as her recovery. Jay

3 pointsThese were invented in the ‘40s and used to separate forms from foundations. Almost immediately guys realized they were great crow bars with a great deal of leverage. We redid our back deck this summer so I had a hood reason to make one. 48”x2”x1”x.25” wall. 12” piece of leaf spring from my spare 14bolt axle Bending that leaf spring was the most difficult part. It’s the over load off a one ton pack. I had to heat both sides with map gas and acetylene, put it in a vise and a 24” pipe wrench. I’m a strong guy and it wouldn’t budge. Heated it again cherry red, added 3’ pipe and I got a bend. The I cut a crows beak in one end of the bar, put the spring in, hammered it shut and welded it up. Added a piece of steel across the front to reinforce but not really needed. I ripped the 5 1/4 decking up in no time at all, and they used ring shank nails.

3 pointsCouple minor upgrades to "The Rat" wiped decals off with a wet rag and swapped out completely gone seat for a wrecked but ok one from the same era... This tractor is quickly becoming my favorite in my fleet... Here's a short ride in the drizzle driving back from clearing out the drainage ditch at the far end of my property. 1975 (or so...) 3 pointsI gotta add one more comment: My 310-8 has a battery that is several years old, and is only good for a couple start attempts. The voltages below are with the tractor not running. Four LED lights drop the battery from 12.2 to 12.1 VDC, and as I said the battery is just about gone. Any other type (incandescent, halogen, whatever) of high output light would drastically load the battery or charging system. Some folks prefer incandescent for the originality factor, and I respect that. Unfortunately each of my tractors has a job, and performance is my priority.

3 pointsI use a mixture of 50:50 Acetone/trans fluid on the exterior and inside bowl. Spray it on let it sit for a few min.Go over it with a brass wire brush and then a Scotch Bright pad. This one was painted,I like them bare metal.

3 pointsI should have posted this along with the sign that I received. Joel also used his horse shoe hobby to make a gift for my wife.

3 points@WHX?? Not my first and most likely not my last. This is easy compared to the 854 I did a few years ago. I have 3 more on the list after this one.
-
3 pointsI decided to tackle the cut out in the frame today. While I was in metal repair mode I fixed the flywheel cover missing nut that the starter generator belt guard fastens to. I made up a new axle pin using the old tab and repaired the battery box.
-
3 pointsThanks Pete. Good words spoken. This is just to keep me from going stir crazy form winter and it was on the cheap side. Always happy for another project.

3 pointsHappy New Year folks. Approximately the same amount of living life to our best form every day is what's in store for us. We're in the early stages of constructing a much larger garden area this spring. I've started a thread about it. We're also inquiring about the possibility of building a garage with apartment. The fact that the real estate market is ridiculously busy and expensive has its ups and downs. The equity in my home is high so that's a huge plus. We'll see if we can build a pole barn on a reasonable budget. If so great! If not, no worries. We wait a year or two...

2 pointsI’m just excited to try it, even with just the plow, now that I got it running. even with no wheel weights. I’m hopeful it will do well. I work for a school and plow there so when I get home I’m tired and just want to hop on something and go vs. dealing with my walk behind snowblower. 🤞🏻

2 pointsFinally have everything cleaned, painted and repaired and some time to start putting this billion piece green puzzle back together. If I had any advice for anyone digging this deep into a 110 is if you think you took enough pics to help reassemble it, take more lol. Actually the only things I still need are tires and the big rubber dash grommet the steering shaft goes through. Hapco has one for $45 but I'm trying to find one cheaper. That's ridiculous

2 pointsHere’s an almost twin to Momma’s newest Suburban coming from CO again. Jada’s first vehicle, and a project. 1999 GMC Suburban. It needs an engine and we got it for a song and dance.
