Haven't been on here much or messing with the tractor stuff lately. Still deciding whether to sell off the tractor collection. Any way this winter I am back into building scale 1/48 models again. In the past I built a few for some former members on here. I decided I am going to build up the antique planes at a local airport by me. I am starting to get into silicone/resin casting. Some of the planes I build are completely scratch built not from a kit. Plan is to make a few limited edition kits. Here are a few of the stearmans I recently built. Have a great new year everyone!

While working on my garage cleaning task I found these LED marker lights that I probably bought 4 or 5 years ago. My plan back then was to install em on my GT1600 plow tractor…so today that’s what I did. Decided to leave the factory reflectors and mount the new lights just below. Pretty happy with the results.

It is still a couple of hours before the New Year starts in the US. But we just started 2022 35 minutes ago. I all wish you a very happy new year filled with joy, health and Wheel Horses of course. May all you wishes become reality! Greetings from me and my Horses

This is my middle sons wife’s trained security dog. He scored very high in Attack Dog competitions. If she’s commanding him in either of the two foreign languages he’s trained in, your in big trouble. The day before their wedding the groomsmen took turns putting on the padded training suit and “playing” with him. Their upper arms and calves were black and blue the next day from the pressure his jaws could exert even through the thick padding But he’s also as gentle and unbelievable affectionate to the point of being a pest sometimes This is Josey my youngest sons dog. She was rescued from a shelter and was very standoffish for a while but now is a great big cuddle toy This was our dog Shelby. As you can see she loved when the grandkids visited. At 14 she had several old age health problems and left us about two weeks ago. She was our squirrel chaser. She amazingly chaser a squirrel her last morning.

I am not going to name anyone, but it always amazes me how someone can show something that they do, and when asked how they do it , there is intentionally no answer. It is something I could never understand. I was always taught the exact opposite. To specially when showing something you did or create not to hide on how you do it, but rather share that knowledge with everyone, specially if asked how it is you did it, so that knowledge can be shared , used, and mostly important improved, as it is passed on. If not that what is the point of showing it? Just to merely stroke ones ego? Is it a game? if so then it should be a Whatizit. I am sorry about the little rant.

8:30pm New Year's Eve, First real winter storm of the season on it's way overnight and the furnace just died. The little flashing red diagnostic light blinks once. Apparently that means it has exceeded the allowable number of attempts to fire up. Not sure if it's a propane supply issue, ignition issue or what. Not even sure if I can figure that out. On call HVAC would cost a medium sized fortune. DIY is out of the question until at least Monday if parts are needed. For a lot of folks it would be panic time. But, I'm just gonna fire up the wood stove and fill the kerosene heater. If we lose electricity I might worry a little bit about frozen pipes since we will also lose the well pump at that point. Oh, yeah portable propane heat solutions too. That should work for the pipes. I love redundancy all over again.

Had a friend try to talk me into building an ultralight plane once. I looked his over and gave him this statement. " I have ridden enough snowmobiles to know that there is no way in Hades that I am going in the air with a snowmobile engine "

I have tri ribs on the Black Horse. That is set up for ploughing with narrow tyres on the rear. Sit in the furrow better. On hard ground the steering is a lot lighter. My C-125 which is my mowing tractor has trailer tyres on the front on trailer wheels and hubs. The trailer tyres don't mark the ground like tri ribs.

I have worked with people like this. Usually they will not share information because they don't have anything to share. My experience is they are taking credit for others work.

I’ll say some quick things on here real quick I apologize that I haven’t been posting much lately we moved about 2 months ago to a 70 acre property and trying to get moved in hunting and getting things set up has took a lot of time but we are almost there I’ll try to get on here more often soon I thank you all for thinking of me

These were invented in the ‘40s and used to separate forms from foundations. Almost immediately guys realized they were great crow bars with a great deal of leverage. We redid our back deck this summer so I had a hood reason to make one. 48”x2”x1”x.25” wall. 12” piece of leaf spring from my spare 14bolt axle Bending that leaf spring was the most difficult part. It’s the over load off a one ton pack. I had to heat both sides with map gas and acetylene, put it in a vise and a 24” pipe wrench. I’m a strong guy and it wouldn’t budge. Heated it again cherry red, added 3’ pipe and I got a bend. The I cut a crows beak in one end of the bar, put the spring in, hammered it shut and welded it up. Added a piece of steel across the front to reinforce but not really needed. I ripped the 5 1/4 decking up in no time at all, and they used ring shank nails.

I had let my membership lapse, and with 2 jobs and 3 youngsters I hadn’t gotten back. I just got another tractor so I decided to join again. I wish I could get my old account back but don’t know if it’s possible. My tractor is a ‘96 3/12-8. I swapped a 5/20 swept front axle on it with reduction steering, also the 8” wheels on ags and the seat off a 5/20 too. I have a 48” dozer for it, 37” deck and bagger. I made a 2” recover that ties in with the rear tach-o-matic and a hanger for 4 45” suitcase weights. I just got another 3/12 for my dad. She’s a bit rough, ‘88 with the trouble lights, rock shaft with cable/chain. Sat for a couple years might need a starter. I tested with a good battery, cleaned grounds, solenoid looks new and I had 12v across the posts, hard time turning over and turns ok by hand. Also the previous owner hacked out all the saftey switches. Should be fun.

If you like horses and parades you will want to tune in to RFD-TV tomorrow. The RFD broadcast of the parade follows and there are very few commercial interruptions. I snowmobiled for 38 years, rode in 13 states and 3 provinces. We had a large snowmobile club in southern Pennsylvania with one member having an 18 wheeler that hauled 30 sleds while we flew to the destinations. It is about as much fun as one can have with their pants on. I recently sold the sleds and trailer with all the goodies since age and snow conditions haven't been favorable. It was hard to give it up being a big part of my life for so many years. The sights and enjoyment of riding in a winter wonderland is beyond compare, for example seeing Canadian lynx behind the @ebinmaine house is just a sample. He never saw it.

Never been on a snow mobile in my life. At this stage of the game, there is no sense changing that now. Although a 2 cycle Kohler could be interesting, it's not $1500 interesting.

Man, I know that feeling. I had 2 mice in my garage this last fall. I set a couple of traps with peanut butter on the trigger. One was licked clean, and the other one caught a mouse that dragged the trap under horses or work benches or what ever. I need to drag out all the stuff to find that trap. I still have 1 mouse cleaning the peanut butter off the trigger. Clever little guy, but his days are numbered. I've been watching "Tom & Jerry" cartoons to get smarter.

Haha! Finding this “stuff” has really slowed the garage cleaning process. There I was cleaning and organizing the garage when something shiny caught my eye…..2 hours later I have rear tail-lights Garage still needs some attention

You should reverse the side plates on the blower it will make it bite in to snow better

Sometimes you've got to wonder why people feel they can take credit for the craftsmanship of others. A friend of mine in Florida sold one of his street rods to a fellow from Ohio, he and I had put in a lot of long nights building that car. A couple years later I was at the NSRA Nationals in Columbus OH and saw the car. The buyer was busily boasting about everything he had done on the build of the street rod. I asked how he had done some of the custom body work (my contribution to the project). He was sort of vague in his answers and I waited until no one else was near by to let him know I had done the work in question.

Sounds like just about every snowmobile I ever ran across! Now that they have greatly improved them there is a bigger issue............NO SNOW!!!

Here’s an almost twin to Momma’s newest Suburban coming from CO again. Jada’s first vehicle, and a project. 1999 GMC Suburban. It needs an engine and we got it for a song and dance.

That is your axle seal, seems it may not have been properly seated when installed. If you remove the wheel hub, slide a piece of pipe that is snug to the axle over the axle. Tap on the pipe with a small hammer it should true the seal up and slip it into place.

Funny you should say that 3D.... other day I went to a property and a sign by the front door said "This property protected by the Lord, a German Shepard and a gun. You proceed you might meet all three" Sure it was a joke of course but the guy did have some shepherds.

Fenders installed. Made from bent up coldrolled steel again. Added the hand holes like in the 1/1 scale tractor. For now i've bolted them to the frame. Might make a dedicated bracket for them later on depending on how everything looks with the seat installed. Also.. more frontweights 😁
