8 pointsAnother 50F day here, so got some work done on the Mirrorcraft project. The paint seems cured, so I flipped her over and installed the decals. Before After a new 20" transom and two coats of Rustoleum Top Coat Boat Paint in Oyster White.

8 pointsI some times wish that great big puddle wasn't between here and you lads in the States. Nearest people to me I've met are Mark (meadowfield) 2 hour drive away and Chris Sutton at the other end of the country. There are others scattered about the country, but none I have close contact with or seen for two years. I do have regular contact with Stevasaurus, Squonk, ACman, DougC, either by PM or Skype. One day I'd like to visit over there while/when I can, before I pop me clogs. Be good to meet some of you face to face. (I think)

7 pointsI am currently in the process of making a rear rack for my WH. The plan is to use it for carrying bags of deer or bird feed to the forest. I am not the best welder, but I love to fabricate.

7 pointsHow did a Where's Jeff topic turn into a sobbing soap opera that would rival DAYS of OUR LIVES and THE YOUNG and the RESTLESS?

7 pointsMany of us here aren't too tightly wrapped, some of us are just more willing to admit it than others. For those that won't acknowledge their insanity, ask their wife. My wife thinks I'm crazy for having so many tractors. She's a therapist, so I guess it's a legitimate diagnosis.

6 pointsreplaced a steering wheel last year , used a flat face 1/4" drift pin , 3 lb hammer . had lubed up that drift pin on the old wheel years back , used my favorite , lucas xtra heavy duty chassis grease , as soon as it did the first hit , it just moved with no problem . when i replaced the wheel today after some dash work , I detailed the grease ,put some in the pin slot , also filled the steering wheel mount holes and existing hole in steering shaft . it went on so easily , firm solid drift pin hits , it was like a no problem job. just another lubrication experiment that worked , keep it greasy , pete

6 pointsGuys like him are always trying to rub it in. Oddly enough though, after about 30 years of marriage, I fell in love with my wife. Weird, huh? Our attempts at killing each other happen far less frequently now.

5 pointsMine too... I do have that old A/C unit in the 'machine shop' part, but that's it. No air or heat in the service areas. Love my Carhart coveralls! Thinking about picking up them "Arctic" ones that I saw. Let's see... they cost about 14 packs of smokes, I should be able to afford them in another 2 weeks! (I'm starting "Step 3" tomorrow! One month down)

5 pointsFinal pictures of my completed custom, my 4th. The 301 Hemi was nothing like the 212. The governor could not be overriden, it had to be completely removed. I had to reinvent the throttle linkage all because I did not know how to join a couple of 212s, but now I know how. (looking for a new home)

5 pointsI accomplish that by aiming the muffler down at the ground...cheaper and I do not have to worry about tree branches....
-
5 pointsBud Andrews made. I like the way it's scaled to a little tractor. Sounds great too.

5 pointsIn the mid 60’s here today in Maryland. My zero turn is in the shop, so I picked up a really nice 48” deck. Took the snow blade off and mowed the grass and leaves I hope for the last time this year. Felt good to be out enjoying the horse ride.

4 pointsI think I will be using that often. Not only for feed. But I have often felt the need for some storage. This will be ideal for carrying tools like chainsaw, etc. around the property. Without the need of the big trailer. (which I can still hook up)

4 pointsI like what @Pullstart said back in '19 about Cherry Bomb I literally just threw a Cherry Bomb on a recent project... (will be getting some video of it later...) and he is right, it is very mellow... not like what I thought it was going to sound like... Don

4 pointsThe more you do it, the better it gets. Turned out the gas inside the wire had gone missing. the new one does better. I have 4x20kg (4x 44lbs) bags on here. total of 80kg/176lbs. The frontend stays down, and still have to lift quite a bit to get the front-end up

4 pointsQuick and final update…loaded up the Snapper yesterday and delivered it this morning to a guy that lives 10 minutes from work for a nifty $500 profit !

4 pointsMy wife brought this home the other day. It's for putting fake flowers in, and sticking into the ground. I sort-a commandeered it. (much like her torque wrench) You can't see them, but there are small ribs where the yellow circle is. I removed the nail, and using progressively larger drill bits, I drilled the hole out to 5/16" Sometimes putting trans fluid in, it's sometimes hard to find a small funnel that will fit in the fill tube. When you do, the fluid "Burps" because the air cannot escape. I am thinking the ribs will allow air to escape and stop the burping. This is especially bad on my Massey tractors. The fill tube is only 3/8".

4 pointsMost of the cabinets came from our kitchen remodel, several years ago. I built a few more base cabinets. The top is used, 1 1/2", solid core doors I got at a "Restore Store" CHEAP ! I covered them with Formica. Our schools colors use to be green & white, hence the color scheme.

4 pointsWhile working at a service station in the mid '60s we had a customer who was told his engine was "varnished up" so he went to the paint store and bought a quart of Varnish Remover which he added to the engine! After a day of operation that thing rattled banged and stunk. He brought it in and we drained the oil, it came out in chunks and had some strings of goop in it. What a mess. Out of curiosity we dropped the oil pan and there was crap clinging to everything. My point here is that when you recommend "refill with a varnish cutting additive" you may want to be a bit more specific.

4 pointsTruthfully patina can actually be protective and really only occurs on non-Ferrous metals. Patina (/pəˈtiːnə/or /ˈpætɪnə/) is a thin layer that variously forms on the surface of copper, brass, bronze and similar metals (tarnish produced by oxidation or other chemical processes) On ferrous metals it has become common to call it patina, but it is actually just rust. On metal, patina is a coating of various chemical compounds such as oxides, carbonates, sulfides, or sulfates formed on the surface during exposure to atmospheric elements (oxygen, rain, acid rain, carbon dioxide, sulfur-bearing compounds).[2] In common parlance, weathering rust on steel is often mistakenly[3] referred to as patina.

4 pointsI agree with you but you seem to be just lucky that you have all those fellows close to you. I would love nothing more than to be sipping with @stevasaurus, while smoking a stokey with @stevebo as @wallfish just checks the progress on the still and keeps us advised and supplied. Instead I am just the lonely red haired child here in NJ suburbia running tractors at all kinds of hours, when not building oxen yokes for which they do not allow me to have a single Oxen ( not even a damn chicken) while I am always watching for those sneaky cops while I run the still. Talk about a square peg in a round hole . You are just making me jealous.

4 pointsAnother rebuttal I might have with your comment too is Cas is with alot of the guy's I have met on here I see them alot more than once a year. Shows, events, plow day.... always a weekly Sunday check in with Tom @Shynon if I'm near a phone. We camp together and get pretty fammiliar with each other including their bowel movements. Then thers the BS where you really meet. I can't even list all the guys I met at the BS that I wouldn't contribute to their go fund me that were in need ... well maybe not Squonky ...just Mike ... I would gladly contribute you ended up in one of the hospitals you worked at. The Hosen and I chat on the horn when we need to swap technical advice or want to bs. I just wish he would get with the times and get a smart phone and be able to text instead of that flip phone that @953 nuthas. Richard knows ...the one with the rotary dialer... I guess is what I am trying to say is these are much much more than just cyber acquaintances. More like extended family. We started out with one thing in common .......... but it blossoms to much more. If EB sails off the flat edge of the earth I would be worried This is true but EB seems to have the balance thing worked out...except for that ring on her finger....

3 pointsThat lombardini 510 is no joke. The hood will have to be lifted +4" to fit. Voila, apart from some tick mesh and paint I am done.
