Scrolling through Facebook market palace I came across this ad which seemed to be spam but in hindsight it wasn’t . It was an Rj58 covered in dust in an old building . Naturally I sent a few messages stating I was interested. With about a day going by I figured that it had sold . I receive a phone call in which it was the lady who had owned it and said it was still available. So I had a buddy Of mine run up to Fall River Massachusetts to grab it for me in which it turned out to be a moving company who had closed their doors. My assumption is that it got bought in a clean out or it never got picked up /delivered to the customer it was being moved for . Here our some pictures in order .since I’ve gotten it running which it’s a great runner and it definitely shows signs of low hour machine . I am fortunate @stevebo helped me out with the schnacke recoil . I am leaving the dirt and grease on the machine as seen . 😊

Rylee and I jumped in Norman for a haul. We hit the road at 3:58 this morning, hoping to land around 1:30 this afternoon. A little brake fast at the ‘King and we’re back on the road!

Well with that big truck and the way Kevin can load tractors I’m going to guess he’s getting…umm… 7 machines!

Me, Trina and her mom have been out reorganizing the tractor outdoor storage area all afternoon. Moved about 3 million years worth of leaves. Realigned all 5 future project tractors and some parts under a paracord where we'll hang a large tarp for the winter. At the Meet n Greet we'll line up every other tractor near these for a photo opportunity. Also convenient because the forest trails start here. @Raposo @JCM

Came across this on FB last night and shot him a message. Never seen one of these before. Almost looks like a big fiberglass body. At first, I thought it was a rear-engine. But now that I look at it, it almost looks like a front-engine, front-wheel-drive set-up. Doesn't look like there is a deck to it, but I like the little floor-boards rather than being open like the small, 60's Wheel Horses have. Any help or ID would be much appreciated.

Here is the only picture I have currently after unloading it yesterday evening. My JD 400 TLB was sizing it up and felt a lil inferior next to the Wheel Horse!

Had a productive day. Made my own wheel weights from a $40 weight set at walmart. 50lbs plus probably 5lbs for the hardware per wheel. Also fixed my headliggts and replaced the bulbs with LEDs. And got my mowing done afterwards.

I was in Va many years ago. I saw tumbleweed and thought it was your hair!

Yep, that looks just about right. The real question of course is, how in the world does one get one's daughter up and out the door before 4:00 in the morning? My wife tries it once in a blue moon, I don't even bother any more.

Eric: Great article - Smokey was a great race car builder who fractured almost EVERY rule in the rulebook. He discovered that the Hudson Hornet motor developed more torque IF you ran it backwards. He had a custom camshaft ground with a mirrored profile - even had the "Testicular Fortitude" to have the FACTORY part number on it. Made a fan with reverse pitch, rewound the starter to run backwards. Perhaps his greatest achievement was his 1967 15/16th scale Chevelle to compete in the NASCAR Sportsman Series - every panel on the car was massaged to be a wee bit smaller. Because of him NASCAR went to the Roofline profile inspection plates. My alltime favorite was once (then the rule was added) he had a car in qualifying that had no rear wheel cutouts on the body. He figured it would be more aerodynamic and it was. The other Teams laughed when they saw it - how is that fool going to change rear tires during the race they said. Once they qualified up near the front, the crew cut out the wheel openings. There was a protest filed by other teams - Smokey replied " NASCAR allows us to cut our own desired wheel opening shape - they just did not say when!!"

@Jacob S One other thought... You might be tempted to try some of the products called "belt dressing" to get the belt to have better grip. NOT a good idea. Those products are for belts that are under constant tension, not for ones used for clutch engagement as the ones on WHs are. Good quality, Kevlar fabric-wrapped belts are the way to go for our tractors.

And Smokey got fined for another violation - to add fuel capacity beyond the mandatory 22 gallon fuel tank, he ran a QUARTER MILE of fuel line coiled up inside the car. Another new rule change ....

Very cool! I loved the 67 model year. The Nova SS was awesome. A friend had a 67 Camaro (maybe a 68?) that he 'bumped into' a tree with the front end. He found the same year Firebird at a local scrap yard that was wrecked in the rear. Turns out that everything bolted right up! He did have to 'massage' the fenders to line the door seams up. When it was all finished it was a Firebird comin' at ya, and a Camaro goin' away. Too bad it was a 6 cylinder car...

If you take a close look, they are basically a walk behind tractor that they added a rear section of frame and a steer axle to. I believe that all of the walk behind attachments will fit on right on to the front of the tractor.

All joking aside- when is the last time you woke up and stretched like you did when you were a kid? That was some serious snoozing! I wake up nowadays feeling like someone beat me with a bat.

That’s what I thought too when I chose the frosted over the clear. The original lenses or sort of in between I think. They have some texture on the inside that sort of blocks the view of the bulb and I think the frosted sort of mimics that.

It is only slightly unnerving that all these pictures are from Norman's DRIVER side. Maybe get the copilot to take the pictures (unless she's curled up on the back seat sleeping )? Our children could easily be roused for an adventure that interested them and usually the chance for a one-on-one trip with Dad or Mom qualified!

Yup, seen a few of those mixed model years bodies when I was turning wrenches on a 1/4 mile asphalt track car. The basic body on all 55 thru 57 Chevies was the same - 57 nose on a 55 body was not uncommon. My favorite was the 55 3 door - a 2 door on the drivers side and 4 door sheet metal on the passenger side, it was all they had to work with after a wreck. Bill

Hhaha, Renault, the cars that fall apart over every speedbump. No serieus, they often have pieces falling apart. The summer before covid, we were enjoying our dinner on a terrace at a local restaurant. Before the door was this speedbump, a Renault drives by and his entire exaustsystem falls off . The sound diffrence was hilarious. Race-mode engaged!

I received a package today. Looks like it came from Johnny Mag's Magnetos and More Consortium of North American and Beyond, Inc. Oooooohhhhh shiny! I had to slightly modify the fan baffle. The right side of this coil had a slightly larger boss compared to the original Nothing a little "exactly" knife and some sandpaper couldn't fix. I mowed most of the yard and she stayed running. I won't know for sure until I can run her for 2 hours plus. Thanks @johnnymag3. Even though you gave me the "No Chinese food price", I still owe you for a few reasons: 1). You saved me some cash. B). I didn't have to worry if I was getting some cheap ripoff piece of crap. 36). My 310 is now officially JohnnyMag'd.
