I'd ordered this door knocker from @Wheel Horse 3D Grey awhile back. The Paint Department tossed a coat of multicolor on it but was never quite pleased. Over the last few days she's corrected it...

I was working on the garage door in the junque shop tonight, new cables, springs, pulleys, rollers... basically a total rebuild. It's a big azz heavy wooden door. I even cleaned the windows. They look like 'meers'. It's dark as a dungeon out there! I thought it was an interesting photo... that's all!

Scored some barbell weights at an auction. Adding some more weight to my main plow tractor. She is getting a 54" blade this year so a I figured more weight would be appropriate. 127 lbs of weights and 65 on each wheel 257 lbs... Next going to reconfigure her front weight mount (currently 45 lbs) to add some more and have an aligning pin for the pow frame. going after EB in Maine

I was gonna say, "Just tie my feet up so they wont get run over by the ski's", but on second thought; I don't want any rope around !

Seems every time I clean and paint parts for a motor, I think I'm done, but there's always one more piece in the bottom of the bucket. I think I got them all. Normally, I would not paint a motor gloss black, but if things go as planned, I expect EVERYTHING on this tractor to be shiny.

Chains are super smooth and great traction. Bought them and ran them on our Honda Civic when we were in Germany 35 years ago. They were really neat you could install them without jacking up or moving the car.... much smoother than these chains on my blower tractor. Military surplus never used Weed hardened chains (For M-38 and M-151 6.00x16 I cut them down) Note the size difference in cross links compared to cheap garden tractor chains on the front wheels. These are a bit bumpy. For my plowing the narrow 6.00x12 work best...

My son bought this rust free, high mileage 1990 with a 460 and a five speed in it for $7000 and I thought he was nuts. He has been offered double that. It is absolutely nuts. That was probably a $14,000 truck when it was new.

Thanks Fellas! That’s “Ole Smoky” my ‘69 C-10. It came 307/3OTT but now has a warmer ‘86 350 in it. It’s my goal to drive it more next year!

    @Pullstart I see a 67-72 Chevy in there?😀 What are the details? 350/350? I’ve got a 71 Chevy 250/3ott that I’m rebuilding.

I started messing with the new-to-me C160 Automatic. Got the muffler turned back down and adjusted to a slightly better position. Still just too big for the space it's in but I'll likely use it for the time being. Also took the fuel pump off and turned the input and output. They were both facing straight forward... Towards the exhaust!! Now inlet is down and outlet is up as normal. Next is to swap the carb. I have a rebuilt Kohler original here I've kept for Cinnamon Horse. I'll pop that on then rebuild the existing carb on the Auto when I can.

I worked at a Chrysler dealer years ago. Big giant OH door. Every once in a while it would come off the rail and twist busting all the windows. Door Co. would come fix it but it would happen again. One day I was driving in and was half way into my stall and as the door was closing I hear a crash. Looked into the rear view mirror and I see glass falling everywhere. We used to joke that the door was built with left over K car parts!

Been a while fellas, life has been crazy. 17 of us did a 3 day 'mowverlanding' trip in Kentucky a few weeks ago- over 30 miles of trails, mud, hills, and some back road riding. it was wild! So, if you're bored and have a half hour to spare, give it a watch

There was a Chevy Only like 60 something to 98's only Truck Show near me around Oakboro NC this past weekend or so... held at a local business mans estate. I did not go as I was knee deep in working on my 1984 Work Horse GT-1600, but my best friend went and he said the staff said there were like 1,200 Chevy trucks there. And believe me there is a keen interest and loyal following of these trucks, C-10's especially, and they are selling for big bucks around the south. Better hang onto it, or if you let it go, don't let it go for a song ! The show was the C-10 Fall Revival.

I understand, and was doing the same to be honest. If I had to use a coal-fired steam engine or even an electric motor to keep my horses up, I'd do it!

You may not know this but there isn't a Briggs under that hood so it should be good to go! Although it may require a little front end tweaking to support the weight when lifting it. LoL Oh, and I still need to add some lift assist springs for the handle too. Was wondering when that pic would show up to haunt me!

The slight knocking sound is belt slap, next thing to do on the to do list list. My first build and I have to say these Kohlers are a pleasure to work on.This is a 12hp auto no name. My second WH .People tired to warn me.I’m already looking for another one.I can’t stop now,I may have a problem.😬 https://youtube.com/shorts/pzXG15gUrjs?feature=share

Made it back home after over 5 weeks on the road. Thankfully it hasn’t snowed here in east central WI. The leaves are 3/4 down and was able to play with momma’s BIG RED diesel today. Another shout out to @Shynon for the deck and bagger system… worked great! the tree behind the tractor was planted as a sapling about 6 years ago. It is looking really nice and the pictures don’t do the color of the leaves justice. the diesel seems to eat through the leaves with a lot of “gusto”! These Xi series tractors really do make great workers!

It is designed to ride behind a snowmobile on the trails. It’s been in my wife’s family for about as long as she’s been alive… if not longer! The skis need to be patched up a bit, but low speed towing is great.

@Maxwell-8 You could also go with a satin, if you want it even a little less shiny.

Those are actually made for rope style/graphite packing and "plastic" seals in valves and cylinders. That is unique use for that. Thanks for tip. Pulled many a packing and seal with them in factory where i was maintenance mechanic on injection molding machines. I also drill small hole and just use screw into housing and pull out seal.

I think the guy who did the repro's was @jay bee if I recall correctly. I bought one for when I get around to my Bronco 14 build.

Agreed. I've heard @JCM Jim's KT 417-8 and it runs lovely. Trina and I are planning to get the 417As cleaned up a tad and then Jim and I are going to see about getting one or both running. Personally, I'm curious to drive both the C160 Auto and 417A to see & feel the differences between the two.

I think those 417s will grow on you Eric... Actually a whole lot a tractor in all of those horses.

My brother does some serious windshield time as a service team to gravel pits and bidding steel fabrication for other commercial work. He had three hundred and some thousand on a Ford Ranger with a V-6 in 2008. The sixes were not as durable as the four cylinder trucks, as they used industrial engines. The Ranger was fading fast, but the cash For Clunkers program was just starting , and the six qualified him for it. He bought a Chevy Colorado, 4 cyl, manual transmission for under ten thousand due to the program, and just the other day, the oil pressure light came on as it died.Metal in the oil pan, so RIP on that engine. Five Hundred Three thousand miles and some change. He got it towed in , and surprisingly, it seems a good candidate for a crate engine. The drive train is original, and a manual transmission and the careful way he drives makes it stay young. The repair guy quoted him around ten grand for a new engine or nine grand for a rebuilt crate engine. You really cannot find much in the way of used trucks as the ones I saw were about as old as his and rusted through. He wants a beater truck anyway, so he is looking around for a few days while he decides, He has never had a traffic ticket , but a few years back, he was speeding in a town that had variable speed zones. The officer was wondering why he could not find traffic violations. Then he tore up the ticket he was writing because after 55 years of driving without incident, he did not want to spoil the record. It will be interesting to see what he decides, as he already has received 250 thousand dollars in mileage reimbursement on this truck, less expenses..... t On Edit, He went to a Toyota dealer and they had a 08 Tacoma coming in. He called me and said he was going back to see it. i told him to check the frame as I read stuff about rusty frames. They wanted 15K for a 100 K truck. The last year for a single cab Taco was 2018 Starting at 18K. Anyway, the frame was bad, and the salesman who traded it in for a new one did not even have it checked on the lift??? There is nothing to look at at dealerships. My brother is not a guy who thanks you for a favor, but he thanked me for warning him about the frame rot issue.

I assure you this site is the ((best/worst)) place to help you with this new affliction. 4-1/2 years ago I started with one little bitty horsey. Then Trina got hers. She now has 3. I have 2 runners, several projects. They're excellent machines. The fault though really lies with this website. You see, the folks 'round here are very helpful and kind. I've met quite a few. Very good people.

I figured it's about time to congratulate @ebinmaine on this past weekend score here so all his buddies can see what he's really like when content. You may see a difference in the before and after pictures. In the first picture he's like a kid on the 25th of December and on the second one he seems very happy looking for berries. I mean how many C-160's should a BEAR legally own ? Only he knows the answer to that question. Great job on that score Bear, and thanks for taking me along, much appreciated.
