14 pointsWe had tourists on the green opposite our home this morning. There was four of them, but I could only snap three. Sorry for the poor quality but I had to act quick. There are three here. One more has gone through the hedge on the right. Three off down the bridleway. The fourth is in a field to the left.

12 pointsCleaned out garage floor today , moved some tractors around and removed a 42 inch mower deck from my 314 hydro. Getting ready to put the snowblower on the hydro for winter!
-
10 points5 big wheels, in various forms or stages. One with melted wiring, one runner, one in need of an engine, one full project and one in the middle of nap time. @953 nut thanks again for turning on my big wheel switch!
-
8 pointsSad but happy day, have a horse leaving the herd. Headed for green grass in South Carolina Best of luck to a new owner, the 314h finds a now home today. This was my first WH, acquire her in 2018 in Maine. She has only 60 hours when I got her, she leaves today with 99.8 hrs. Hate to see a horse leave but when you care for these babies you want them to go to a good home.

7 pointsfound a set of plastic concrete filled weights at neighbors junk pile don't really know how heavy they are but believe they are approx 40 lbs? tried them out in the ditch and wow what a difference front end actaully gave some response should also help when i have @wheelhorseman1000 hitch on the back and load the trailer with firewood with the tire chains. would definitely prefer the cast iron weights but Free is always better in my book.

7 pointsIf I'd know @Jennifer that that scraper had sides on it I would have gotten it from Craig they sure are handy! Ok Dan @Achto now how did you go go about putting that ahead of the hump drain hole in?!?!? Laying on your back with goo running over the drill and down your arm?!?!? Got a few of those tank straps set one aside for you. Coulda swore one was with it. Lose it on the ride over??? Those tires must be Hi-runs @Raposo they do run a bit wide! They bite like no tomorrow tho That manual for adjusting the VR is here too fellas. @Handy Don @Horse NewbieI'll share what I have on them below. Since I am a early-mid sixties & S/G freakazoid and since my electrical skills are a bit better than my heat wrench skills I have lots of stuff on them DELCO-REMY_SERVICE_BULLETIN.pdf Delco_Remy_Generator_Regulators.pdf 1 Checking a Mechanical Voltage Regulator.pdf

7 pointsI finnaly added something to my trailer... After an inspection of superintendent the trailer is ready for when a new project pop-up or one of the horses have to go do some work somewhere.

7 pointsI changed the little rubber washers in the metal fuel line that runs from the fuel pump to the carb. Leaked badly.... not anymore!! Remember this was a tractor I picked up for parts and ended up replacing the engine. @squonkpicked up the engine for me at the Big Show. I still need to replace the fitting on the gas tank. When I get to that I will paint the tank. I'm really happy with this 875. Runs fantastic and looks great. Not bad for a parts machine.

7 pointsHusband put the 854 to work after yesterday’s all day rain we had a rut in the driveway and he had to play! The box scraper we got from @cschannuth. Recovering gravel from the ditch as well! Made quick work!

7 pointsI'm going through the 417-A that I purchased a couple weeks ago. I found the idler pulley for the drive belt completely frozen. Here is a side by side comparison of the original parts and the new parts. The spacer sitting on the new pulley was completely gone. It's definitely been this way for a while.

7 pointsI continued work on " Pale Face" my new to me 856 today. After getting the engine in running condition on an IV bottle Thursday, I turned my attention to the rest of the tractor. - Installed the gas tank , new petcock, and finished running new fuel line. Didn't find a tank strap @WHX?? - Drained about 2qts of water out of the transmission along with some super thick oil-ish substance - Drilled and tapped a drain hole in the front half of the tranny, so I didn't have to stand the tractor on end to drain the tranny. - Flushed 2 gallons of diesel through the tranny, one filling at a time. Fill it, drive around for 10min, drain it, repeat, repeat, repeat....... - Filled the tranny with 5w 20 oil, drove around for 20min, drained it and finally filled with 80 90w. - New shifter boot to keep the water out in the future. - Changed the engine oil - New spark plug - Gave all of the zerts a few squirts of grease. - Tweaked the voltage regulator a little to get the charging voltage up to 14.2vdc instead of 12.8vdc. ( Oddly enough it charges at 14.2vdc at about 3/4 throttle and 13.8vdc at wide open. ) After all the driving around to flush the tranny, I was quite impressed with how well this tractor runs and drives. So impressed, that I even purchased a battery so that it could have one of its very own. It may not look like much, but it sure is a nice running and driving tractor. Still a few "shoe man" issues to take care of but I wouldn't be afraid to put it to work.

6 pointsToo dark out now to get any pictures, I'll try to remember tomorrow. No chance of a power point, less your talking about the drill bit spinning in the drill.
-
6 points@Pullstart you tellin' me WHrat WHrecker needs a nap...???!!! Gonna make a sissy outa that tractor... putting' her in a rack like that...

6 pointsWhile the other moderators chime in, I'll put my 2 cents in on this thread. The topic is relevant to the forum, and of interest for those who are unaware of the legislation. BUT I am almost certain that it will derail (and probably quickly) and be locked down, removed and members banished into the 5 day suspension category. Please don't politicize this, post memes of Greta or begin the comi-fornia comments. That post will be removed and the poster receive a 5-day reprieve from forum participation. Second offense will be 30 days and 3rd permanent.

4 pointsClose. Jacked the front as high as I could, Couldn't fit the drill under it square though. Moved it outside jacked it up again and dug a hole under it so that I could get the drill under it. Packed the bit with grease ( to catch any shavings ), drilled the hole. Then packed the tap with grease and tapped the hole. Worked out quite well. .

4 pointsMoved some machines around, putting some to nap for winter time. 4 into the racks, one down for the chop shop, plus a tote of what could be called a GT-14 came down. I have room for 3 more to go into racking, but am short on pallets.
-
4 pointsCould go either way with me. Nice and slow or slam it in. Depends on the mood, how much daylight left to mow or blow and how many other chores left to complete.
-
4 pointsI just go steady about same speed as I would engage a car clutch… it works.

4 pointsThe maintenance manual is clear on this spot. Grease VERY LIGHTLY. Not much more than a film on the roller bearing and race. Any extra grease that leaves this bearing will be thrust outward onto the clutch friction surface, corrupting it.
-
4 pointsYou need to adjust the PTO brake. Engage clutch loosen the two 1/4" bolts holding the brake Put a .012 feeler gauge between brake pad and PTO pulley. Hold the brake pad against feeler gauge and tighten the two bolts.
-
4 pointsThanks for your hard work Richie! I'm looking forward to seeing mine, and I'm also looking forward to seeing my wife roll her eyes when she sees it lol
-
4 pointsDo you have the PTO brake on the tractor? Metal arm extending over the PTO bell in this pic.
-
4 pointsLens cover, fresh decals and swapped the rubber seat out with a leather 3 piece seat. Next up is ripping out the 8 horse and getting the 10 horse ready to go in. I will clean up the engine bay and wiring also! Super happy with the look

4 pointsThe good ol' days. File some points, turn a few screws and your back in business. New electronics - Throw it away and buy new.
-
4 pointsOn a OEM Delco Remy regulator for a starter/gen there is a screw inside the regulator that will adjust the voltage output. It is very touchy, a little bump can make a big difference. Aftermarket regulators don't have this adjustment screw, you have to tweak the tab that the spring connects to.

3 pointsGet yer minds out the gutter here. Came home tonite to find a very heavy box on my porch tonite. Pallet forks (finally) came in and five minutes later mounted and moving .... trying to move a beast of a tiller for the Super C. These are really nice forks and for 150 Washington's delivered could not have built a better set for the coin. I opted for the optional fork stabilizer for an aditional 15 clams. Rated to 1500 lbs. Figured they would be the cats meow for just moving a deck or three or an engine on a pallet. Picked the wrong try out for a 350 lb tiller tho. Quite obvious not enough rear weight since @cschannuth didn't throw in some more! Just Craig. Had a few mishaps but nothin as serious as running a 1/2 drill bit in my hand ain't that right 'Hosen?? Trouble is no matter where you go on my ranch it is either going up hill or down and it always seems up so traction is always difficult. All blow sand and pine needles doesn't help. Yep tiller fell off the skid ... Plan B just pick it up and set in back on the skid. ..now here's where lack of traction came into play ..... tires just dug ... did better with my carcass setting in the seat but still .... need weight to the rear. Test runs are always fun!

3 pointsRylee and I had to determine the best performers in snow. Last winter, we learned that fatties don’t work well in the white stuff… no matter how cool they look!
-
3 pointsI got a 1/4 and a 3/8 drill & tap just bring it over here. I also would have just put compressed air in the tranny to blow out the shavings ....and the goo that comes with it..... pics on how that pans out..... yep let's not do it over here .....
-
3 pointsI gotta second that. @Achto Is cutting the threads in that cast iron case any different than reg'ler steel/iron? I've thought about doing a second drain on a few gearboxes but was afeeer'd I'd busticate the things.
-
3 pointsI had that many before "Hot Wheels" went to live at the Pullstart Ranch. If you add in Frank, the Senior and Lever Steer you have quite a Big Wheel herd there.

3 pointsI'm curious to see what the other folks are going to have for answers so I'm going to chime in here too. As it stands right now we only have one PTO driven implement in use. The Mckissick chipper. With that particular piece of equipment I normally idle the engine down, engage fairly slowly, and then bring the engine RPMs back up. In my particular case the reason I do this is because the belt on this setup is a little too long and maybe doesn't quite have the right angle and if it engages violently it's prone to being thrown off. Seems to me an electric PTO engages pretty much everything as a very fast somewhat violent move.
-
3 pointsI really need to order a new yeti as the bottom of mine is bent and it rocks on the table. But mike nailed it! Those eyes don’t just roll, they fire razor sharp lightening bolts that cut and burn. Someday I will be brave enough

3 pointsI recently discovered something on my machine. My PTO brake never has worked. I recently discovered why. The stub axle has snap rings both inside and outside the bearing. The function of the outside ring is obvious but the inner one not so much. There's also a snap ring holding the bearing into the PTO bell. When one engages the PTO, the stub axle is pushed inward and the clutch is engaged. When the PTO is DISengaged the hoop PULLS the PTO bell OUT against the brake pad. If either the INNER stub axle snap ring, or the snap ring holding the bearing into the bell is missing, the brake won't work properly. In my case, the snap ring holding the bearing into the bell was missing. When the PTO was disengaged the bearing was sliding out of the bell and not pulling the bell against the brake pad. The reason that the snap ring was missing and not detected sooner is because the previous owner had neglected repairing some damage to the assembly that had somehow ground the end of the PTO bell down. It was ground down very smoothly and not apparent that it was actually damaged. Until I looked carefully at the parts diagrams was I even aware that the snap ring was missing! There's not even a groove to install the snap ring for the bearing any longer! So, I just run without a PTO brake. No kids or pets around, and I just sit and wait for it to stop spinning before I dismount. Someday maybe I'll replace the bell... or maybe not.

3 pointsOld farm house with 57 Chevy parked in the weeds. The small hub caps were missing making it impossible to identify the wooden spoke wheels, perhaps the differential will give us the answer we seek The Model T Ford Rear Axle & Differential
