6 pointsThis is used as the clutch safety switch among other things. Sliding the clutch arm against the ball pushes the ball in and creates contact. There are also other versions that do the reverse of that.

5 pointsAgreed, but I don't tolerate non-rednecks pointing out my redneck-edness. Kinda like the sibling thing I guess. I can make fun of my siblings but nobody else is allowed to!
-
5 pointsSo right. The family that rides together stays together. It is always great the relationship you have with your family. Great example for everyone.

4 pointsTodays observations. Apple tree in blossom. Pear tree producing. Bussy time at the neighbors farm with over 50 buggies. Lantern devils still swarming the silver maple. Cauliflower banded to keep the sun from turning the head yellow. Broccoli ready to harvest.

4 pointsWill you please stop concerning yourself with the crazy conspiracy theories of climate change! Get out there and burn some fossil fuels, throw some plastic bottles in the ocean, pour some old crap gasoline down the storm drain and enjoy the environment while you can. Our grandchildren and great grandchildren can worry about that type of nonsense!

4 pointsThank you all it's a new venture for and I'm already certain this forum is very helpful won't be the last you hear from me and I'll send pics thanks again

4 pointsI do use the trick you told me once. starting on low rmp, slowly releasing th clutch and then add in the power, a bit like you do when driving a stick car/truck. Also sold a snowplow braket online. I made the pakkage ready today to go out with the mail tomorrow. It's going to someone who has never heard of redsquare, so I gave him a litlle hint on what to do. Translation from dutch: Thanks for your purchase! Become a Red Square member! Greetings Maxwell-8

4 pointsThey shouldn't complain too much about my fun. When I have a snowday I am out there plowing many of their driveways...
-
4 pointsYou can then imagine some of the looks I get in a suburb in NJ. Most people however wave and have great smiles specially when I have the grandchildren in the wagon. The ones that would criticize I feel sorry for them for they are missing on the happiness. Lots of great things about being a redneck.

4 pointsAs far as I'm concerned it is every North Carolinian's obligation to let their Red Neck shine. For those who were born here it seems to come naturally and those of us who are here by choice need to quickly adapt or go back where you came from!!!!!

4 pointsWe still have our ups and downs like every family, but it was so wonderful to ask all my ladies separately for a tractor ride and they all said yes!

4 pointsEngine is in and everything is hooked up. Just redid the wiring and threw a newish belt on.

4 pointsNot a particular fan of July heat anymore, but do you know what I like about cold Winter mornings? ...Not one dang thing! I now understand why bears stay in a hole in the ground unconscious for the whole winter.

4 pointsMy neighbor told his son " Now I know we live beside a redneck" when he saw me joy riding around the neighborhood on my 1994 520H.

3 pointsPullhosen’s Pony Express here. It’s been a while since we did this. It felt wonderful to take a hot lap across the field and through the grasses last night! First stop, fuel. Having our own filling station rocks.

3 pointsSpent a little time with the newest member of my herd over the last couple of days. "Pale Face" as @WHX?? calls him showed up as a non-runner with a few pieces missing, most of the pieces were included with him though. Yesterday I spent some time getting the steering wheel off, installing a dash and getting the cables to move. The throttle cable had to be replaced but the choke cable was savable. Tonight I pulled the bowl off from the carb and was happy to see that it was relatively clean. After seeing this I checked the vitals, performed some field triage, and hooked up an IV bottle. I'm happy to report that the engine purrs like a kitten. I still need to flush the gas tank, replace the petcock, and finish running new fuel line. Tomorrows project. Then I can shake down the rest of the tractor. No boot on the shifter so I can imagine that the inside of the tranny will be a hot mess.

3 pointsOne of my neighbors joined th Wheel Horse Club last week. He picked up this nice 600 hr., 312H in OH. A little TLC, belt, axle seals, filter and touch up.....came out mighty nice. Says he is doing the muffler next, he is hooked!

3 pointsWelcome to Red Square. 1054 = 10 hp Kohler...5 electric start...4 is 1964. The transmission is a Wheel Horse #5047...it has 1 1/8" axles with a bevel gear differential. Do a search for information by typing 1054 or 1054A in the search box. Actually, your serial number appears to be a #1054A built in 1965 with a #5051 transmission...just a newer version of the #5047.

3 pointsThanks for the thread. I grew up as well with summer camping trips along the river using Coleman stoves and lanterns. Brought back a lot of memories. I can remember going to the Amoco gas station and buying white gas right out of the pump. And now it’s $16.00 for a gallon of Coleman fuel. Have several double mantle lanterns and a 2 and 3 burner stove on the attic. Now you’ve got me thinking I need to get them down and make sure they all work. I keep these 2 guys handy encase I need them.

3 pointsThis weekend offered prefect weather for a great local tractor and engine show in Asheville NC. The variety was good and the flea market offered something for everyone. My narrow front 953 and I took it all in. Here is a little of what was there. This was a very interesting display, a Cub with several cutaways which was operated by an electric motor and showed how the internal components operate. It even had little blue lights that would light up the cylinders at TDC of the compression stroke! Anyone need a BIG spark plug? Not too many at the show but this was an eye catcher.

3 pointsI got a lot of the wiring finished today/tonight. This is all being done with MC armored cable, 12 gauge. The outlet below the left speaker is a dedicated 20A outlet for the radial arm saw to the left (off screen). That circuit breaker box by the flag is going away, no longer needed. The switch / outlet just below and to the left of the CB box is another 20A circuit that powers the 'Plugmold' strip (scavenged, free) and also powers the stereo (picked from the trash, works GREAT after repairing the power switch!) and lighting, and some outlets that will be installed on the opposite wall where there is another workbench. The switch is a 30A rated part (scavenged from a factory re-wiring job, along with the expensive 20A outlets). I'm going to install a quad outlet box in the center of the ceiling for the LED lighting. Also off screen to the right is another dedicated 20A outlet for the 1954 antique IT&T Coolerator A/C unit that still works perfectly! I did do a 'restoration' on it this past Spring, rewired and fixed a few things on it. The shelf with the speakers is half of a bi-fold closet door that I got at a garage sale (brand new!) for a buck. I'll use the other half above the bench on the other wall. The shelf brackets came out of a barn that was being torn down. The plywood was all 'scavenged' from shipping pallets. It was used as a protective top cover on the product. I've got about 30 sheets. Odd size, 40-1/2 x 47-1/2 but I've got more than enough to do the job even though I have to cut each piece to fit the studding (which isn't all exactly on 16" centers anyway!), so there is some waste, but who cares? It was FREE! Yes, I'm a scavenger... the only thing that I've had to buy for this so far is the wire (which ain't cheap anymore!) and the MC connectors, the LED strip lights (Horror Fright, on sale), and the paint. Oh, by the way, the $700 Wilton bench vice was a freebie along with one of the bench grinders. Gift from a friend who was moving to senior housing. The other bench grinder was a trash pick and only needed a new power switch. When I'm finished plywooding the walls and ceiling I'll also paint them all white like the back of the bench. Yes, it's a mess, but like I mentioned earlier there isn't a lot of room in this shop. When I'm finished I'll clean it all up, I promise! Check out the coloring on the right speaker grill. That is WHITE! I think the coloration is an effect from the strobe rate of the LED lighting and the camera. Weird Moire pattern, and in color too! Thought I was having a 'flashback' or it might be the 60's all over again! By the way, those speakers were a new in the box garage sale find for $10.00 They were 'in wall' mounts, but I built the boxes out of 're-purposed' antique wood. They are 2-way and the midrange was weak so I put some better mid-range drivers in those computer speaker boxes stacked on top. They sound GREAT!

2 pointsOff the top of my head it seems the best option for a PTO setup on that tractor is probably this type. Scroll down through the pics. The long bar handle provides the tension to compress the pulleys to the engine. Simple design and no funky linkage required. Fairly easy to adapt as well https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/1207-1966-1076/ This type of deck ( same type originally used on your tractor) uses a foot pedal to engage it so it can be run off the PTO pulley and engaged separately than the hydraulic pump. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/60740-1967-rm-367-rear-discharge-deck/ The pump can be powered off the second pulley on the PTO. Engaged all the time but if you have hydraulics for lifting implements and such then you probably want it running all the time anyway. I run 2 separate pumps. One for the FEL and the second for a back hoe. They could run off a single pump but I wanted to keep both implements completely separate and independent of each other. Another option for hydraulics is a self contained unit like a HY3 kit which was an add on option for the old tractors. Pump, reservoir, valve etc all in a small single unit. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/90125-hy3-pump/?tab=comments#comment-915600 Searching through the pics in the picture gallery can potentially set off the "light bulb" for ideas

2 pointsI did ! No actually I have cut his yard since I moved next door until this summer when he expanded his drywall business to include landscaping...after he told me how much "HE" was charging to cut yards, my price doubled for him if he ever asks me to mow his yard again ! He actually is a good neighbor...I have fixed many things around his house...

2 points@RandyLittrell Ive built something similar in the past. Just some tubing and a chunk of flat bar and I can mount a 12in weight to the bagger mounts.

2 pointsThe Flea Market was good too. $ 1200 for a good running 8N Ford $ 2500 for a Power King with dual wheels, belly mower, sickle bar mower, tiller, snow blade and it runs great. Here are a few more tractors too.
