15 pointsOne of my neighbors joined th Wheel Horse Club last week. He picked up this nice 600 hr., 312H in OH. A little TLC, belt, axle seals, filter and touch up.....came out mighty nice. Says he is doing the muffler next, he is hooked!

11 pointsHi just signed up, Hi I an Bob and have been fixing cars (mostly body work) for almost 50 years. I am semi retired and like tinkering and have found garden tractors fun to tinker with due to their simplicity and they take up little room. I brought an old Craftsman back from the dead a couple years ago just to mow my yard and my mothers. Mom's neighbor had an old 67 John Deere in his yard for a few months and since he helped my mother out I took his tractor home and got it up and running for him. A friend of mine saw that and said he had a Wheel Horse he inherited and it has been sitting for over 10 years. I brought it in last week cleaned out the mice nests cleaned the fuel system, rebuilt the carb cleaned the points and put in a new battery. I got it running great but it shut off whenever I engaged the PTO. This site gave me wiring diagrams that steered me to an unplugged seat switch. I mowed my lawn with it today and am ready to negotiate a purchase as I love this thing Oh forgot to add it is a 312 A I believe an 86

11 pointsThen, our cruise. Those geese I’ve been terribly attempting to hunt flew by the tower on our trip. I’m sure they all had a good laugh at me!

10 pointsYou mean like this one? When I stepped down from the youth ministry at our church to join my dad full time in his missions work, our pastor and church decided to do something special for me for all the years of volunteer time spent with the teens. They purchased me a nice condition used semiauto 45 Thompson and it came with the “guitar case”, stick mag, and drum mag. Before they gave me the gun, one of the men of the church had me put on the fedora, then another guy walks up to the platform with a guitar case. As soon as I had it in my hands, I knew they weren’t giving me the biggest hint to take up stringed instrument lessons because of the sheer weight. It was a night that I’ll never forget. One of these days I need to make a shadow box and hang it up in my office (in between shooting it at the range of course). We have a bunch of sportsmen in our church and they all thought it was great! Next time we had a get together at the range, they all wanted their turn to sling some lead! Thompson’s are more than a cool gun, they are like a piece of Americana…

9 pointsNice score there but he's not hooked on W-H until he's joined us here on

9 pointsThe night before, we carved some orange heads. From left to right, we have Rylee, Jada, Jil, myself and Mrs. P. It was a good night to light ‘em up!

8 pointsCarb off for a cleaning. Had to rewire the C-160 I just got. The only wire in the correct location on the switch was the start wire to the solenoid. Someone managed to connect it so it still worked but we're overly generous with the wire nuts

7 pointsPullhosen’s Pony Express here. It’s been a while since we did this. It felt wonderful to take a hot lap across the field and through the grasses last night! First stop, fuel. Having our own filling station rocks.

7 pointsHad good results using this stuff. Found on the shelf a Wal-Mart. Pushed a good sized puddle of the gel... all over the rusted area, just keeping it wet with product for 20 or so minutes. Wiped the product off, then finished it with a quick wet sanding with 800 grit. Pretty pleased with my half hours worth putzing around.

6 pointsGetting rid of the new and replacing it with old. Welcome to the family, to another 454/auto machine from Aurora, CO. Just off the hauler today!

4 pointsPrimed the engine tins tonight and painted my flywheel...don't know if it matters or not, but before I painted the flywheel I sanded the light rust off of the edge of the circumference. Also sanded the light rust off of the magnet...then tape over the edge and magnet before painting... Was that the right thing to do ?
-
4 pointsI could go for some field time! My C165 needs to stretch her legs out! The most I get is a few runs around the yard before the neighbors start to wonder about me...

3 pointsStarted the day doing trailer work. Hauled the 7 dock sections up the hill to their winter storage spot, then one load of dock legs and feet up to their storage spot in one of the sheds. Swapped out the RD deck for the SD deck with the mulching plate to mow the lawn and process round 1 of the leaves. Was almost done when the no name decided to work a math problem. I was turning the wheel left to try before I broadsides the travel trailer. Tractor was not responding. The new equation the tractor was demonstrating was: left front wheel full left + right front wheel full right = straight. The inner tie rod end on the right hand side had separated. Guess I'll be building up a set of tie rods with heim joints. I patched it together with a few wraps of electric fence wire.

3 pointsNeed more pics of the Burb @Pullstart when you get time. Those years are some of the best ever built by GM, one of my favorite body styles. Wanna trade for an 86 K-20 ?
-
3 pointsjust finished winterizing my deck. Probably won’t use it again this season. When do y’all think it’s time to start hooking up the blowers? Probably a bit early now. I usually wait until the first frost or so. I used a paint brush and some near vintage mystery transmission fluid to coat the underside of the deck. I’m always amazed how little rust is on it, I’d like to keep it that way😅

3 pointsI hauled the pontoon to the boat mechanic today for winterization, shrink wrap, and storage. Not inexpensive, but next time I see it next spring, it will be turn key ready. I did get a bit of seat time on my 14-8 moving the pontoon trailer out onto the road. Also spent some quality time with the rake, leaf blower, a box of matches, and the leaves. Did an impromptu experiment, too. About the time I got a large pile of leaves into the road, the neighbor shows up with his Cub Cadet zero turn with the leaf bags full. He dumped them in the street so I could burn them. I lit my pile of raked leaves and the pile of chopped leaves at the same time. The whole leaves burned a whole lot quicker and better than the chopped up leaves.

3 pointsWelcome. Good to have you aboard, especially with your body shop knowledge. Can you tell I welcome all the help I can get when it comes to body work.

3 pointsI was struck by luck. My father came first since it was impossible to make a living there and due to certain circumstances there was also a certain degree of persecution. I followed along with my mother about four years later. Country was a strict dictatorship . Unknown to us then since keeping people essentially enslaved was the norm, we were essentially living at least 50 years behind the US and some other European countries. Still today when I talk about certain experiences to people here, they ask me exactly how old I am. That is how behind we were. You have no idea what went through my head when I took my first step onto this blessed place. In those first minutes I might as well have been on Mars , that is how foreign and strange everything was. As much as I sometimes criticize things here, it is the same as when I criticize my children. It is because I love them and want them to be better. I love the place I was born in and my culture, but make no mistake as to whom my heart belongs and where my allegiance lies. I cannot even imagine what my life would have been like had I not been here.

3 pointsDawn went to paint my son's bedroom with one of those Wagner paint stick rollers. She hates directions. So she's trying to use it and the roller isn't rolling too good. She looks at the instructions and they are in French. So she watches a YT video. Can't figure it out. Finally she notices wound up in the roller are the English instructions.

3 pointsFinally got my new shoes and repainted wheels back on my 310, just need to paint the rear wheels and a wash and wax and she will look new again! New spindle caps too. I made a weight rack from an old cast steel receiver hitch, had to drill a new hole for the pin and weld some tubing on to hold the weights. Just the hitch weighs a good 15 pounds, it's heavy. I have more weight at home I need to round up yet and get the blade mounted.
