    Never see them around here but this was within a days round trip AND it has the rear PTO AND the 3-point! I drove further and paid more than I've bought in better condition and a lot closer. But this is first I've seen for sale within a days drive. Had to have it! And I did something I would never recommend, I bought it without it running. So while I have a real good feeling for the seller I don't actually know what works... But, I'm pretty sure she'll all work but it will be a while before I have time to confirm. Model plate was not much help but I gather it is NOT an 84 since the hydro controls are placed like the 82-83 years but I have no idea which of those two years. Wish it had less rust but there's nothing here I can't fix with some time. If the hood is not a C-195 only then I'd swap hoods. Very pleased to have one but I can't explain why. I have NO interest in using it as a mower but if I had a 60" deck I might. I have NO rear pto driven attachments that fit it and while I have lots of clevis attachments I have NO CAT 0 implements to fit it! Not sure what all attachments there was but I've seen pics of a rear finish mower and a pretty big tiller. Wouldn't mind having a small brush cutter if they made one or if I could mod something. The larger tiller is interesting but I already have a WH rear tiller, a front and rear walk behind and 3-4 little ones. I suppose the 54" dozer blade would be nice. I'd love a mid-mount grader blade! I've read that some D model attachments can work but finding the C-195 was tough enough, I NEVER see any D stuff around here.

    Update: While awaiting arrival of the terminal ends, I dismantled the wiring harness to check for any issues. A PO had been in there and did another jumper job. Why, I’m not sure, but the twisted/taped connection had disconnected. Viola! Soooooo, that’s where most of the problem was. Second, the PTO switch I had previously tested and thought to be okay was not. Fine, then not fine, then fine, not fine, etc. Had another on hand to replace it with, so the second issue crossed off the checklist. As mentioned above, the PO had also switched some of the wires around on the ignition switch. Not sure why, but once I corrected the harness mess, I also restored the wires to their correct locations on the switch. Second Viola! It now works as it should, including the ammeter which had only wiggled before due to not being wired up correctly. Will be running some new wires in the harness to get the proper colors restored again, then installing some new wire loom instead of electrical tape that encapsulated a good share of it and hid the PO’s work. So, after a few hours of work, the old B-80 4 speed is back on the trail again. It is used exclusively for pulling carts and small trailers on a regular basis. Along with a couple C-81s and another B-80, an 8 speed, and the small “8” , they do most everything needed here. Tilling, a little snow blowing, dozer blade for wet snow, and some occasional belly blade work. No mowing anymore, so 8 hp tractors do it all. The lighter engine weight makes for easy steering, too. Again, many thanks for the great suggestions and advice. They made the job mostly a snap!

    These are really handy for machines with heavy decks, or any decks. Just lift the whole thing. Well, the front anyway.

    Six hours and 400 miles later ( round trip ). Need to give a shout out to Wheel horse Will for putting me on to this. One of my larger finds so far. All NOS , 90% Wheel Horse, 10% Kohler , lots of great stuff. Came from a closed dealership that was in business between 1975 and the early 2000's. Gonna be awhile till I get thru it all. I'm going to bed now......

    Saw this tractor today, ad says it has a D200 transmission and appears to has D series 3pt also. Is this person a member here and or seen this one?

    I really wish is wasn't cracked but nothing is missing and I know I can line the cracks up and apply a patch on the back. I have a little experience welding plastic but I don't know if I'd bother. Certainly other things on it will get fixed first.

    I earlier today was looking for a Church Key. Haven't need one in quite a while, but I new I would never throw one away. Half an hour later after going through plastic bins,drawers, tool boxes, still hadn't found one. Uncovered dads old oak tool chest and started through it. After raking a round in little compartment at the top there it was, a genuine nickel plated church key. The need for it, I open an old case of 10 w hydraulic oil there they were in quart metal cans. Some of the younger member might not know what a church key is.

    I can see all the differences in the 6 reds on the first panel. And because you are colorblind, and as you guess, many others are as well, that explains Regal Red. I personally don't think that Regal Red is even close. Because there is such a vast difference between old Wheel Horse red, new Wheel Horse red, and every year in-between, there will never be a universally accepted shade of Wheel Horse red. Just go to the Big Show and see all the variations in color. I think that Regal Red has been widely used because Rustoleum it is available almost everywhere, it's reasonably priced, and available in both spray cans and quarts. This is my opinion. I don't claim to be an expert, but I do have a good eye for color. As has been stated here many times, if it's red and you like it, that's all that matters.

    You'll find the GLOSS antique white, or black will look 10x better on your finished project.

    @ Dennis Thornton , still have the plastic fender off my 82 c-85 , bought new in 82 , to me it just does not have the look of the steel fender set up , good shape hanging in the shed , like the steel , for durability and its still horse , just me , pete

    Nice score I suspect a C-195 is on most of our list. A few month ago I pasted on one that was about an 14 hour round trip. Only one I’ve seen for sale down here. Had a cobbled up replacement short shaft Kohler twin so no PTO option

    @Andy N. amazing on the deck blades , bought a deck a few years ago , was close to new , P/O was trying to use the wrong ( too long ) pto drive belt on it , was complaining about bad cutting . soon as i saw the belt skid marks on top of the deck , i knew what was up . still works like new. those bearings sound starved , you might try some lucas x tra heavy duty chassis grease in those spindles . the higher noise level ,whining is telling you about the grease problem . the grease recommended is a walmart for $ 5 , that's all i use in my spindles , with no pitched whining noise , very quiet and no failures . have other details if you are interested , pete

    I don't use my Cyclone Rake for anything but leaves. When it was new, I tried wet grass but found the same clogging problem you encountered. Plus wet grass is extremely heavy, so not doing that anymore. Since I only use it for leaves now, no clogging.

    Yes there sure is. That's the very large and heavy duty 1533 bearing. I'd have to measure it to be sure ... I would say I'm moving each wheel out five or six inches. Three of that is in the wheel spacers and the other two or three of that is in the fact that I'm using GT14 axles in a regular 8-speed transmission. They're longer. The workload of this particular tractor is going to be for logging/towing duties only (unless I change my mind). Tongue weight on the rear hitch will never be more than 200 to 300 lb. It's also important to remember that this tractor in and of itself will be a little heavier than your average C series. I think it will be okay but if it's not, I'll fix it and change something.

    That is definitely not a D200 transmission, just a regular 8-speed. I do like the set-up of using a 3-point though.

    I mentioned monitor screens in my first post. Gamma color correction is something that most monitors can not control and the differences between different monitors can be huge. There's a reason that pro photographers use expensive monitors. This is also the reason that one can not judge a color by looking at a monitor screen. If you put a half dozen different monitors side by side and fed them the same signal you would see a half dozen different shades of the same color. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/buying-guides/best-monitors-for-photographers (not to mention the camera that took the photo!)

    I have a hoist and I roll them out the front, still talking a lot of work....does make it easier. I like the POR Treatment, grass sticks less. I used easy slide and it to worked okay. One thing is you have to let all the easy slide wear itself out if you want to recoat with something else.

    My son's neighbor has a lawn care business and they mow wet or dry. Says they uses commercial style hylift blades. i don't think they have a lawn mower bidet! I have thought one of these would be handy, especially on those machines with big/heavy decks!

    I’m going to guess the 465 International Red since most of those colors on the chart are tractor colors. The Ponds reportedly copied International IH Red or the lowest cost paint close to that.

    Never heard of that paint. Interesting. That being said I’ve settled on IH red. I believe the Ponds did as well. My C161 project in IH Red.

    Answer to A: There's also concern for Max RPM of a 90° gearbox. Many are rated at 1800 so obviously 1/2 what we can turn an engine. That can easily be accounted for by putting the correct size pulleys on the engine and gearbox. Answer for B: Oh oh oh. Yep yep. There's the issue. I have no black hoods so I'm measuring for a C series. I know what those v-twins look like in a general manner of speaking but I've never seen one up close or measured one. What size are the spacers on that tractor? They look about 2" or 50 to 60 mm....? I'm beginning to wonder what odd sort of K582 I have because I couldn't get that anywhere near under there with 2" of lift. I was comparing the top of the height of the spark plug on a single cylinder Kohler to the top of the height of the air cleaner on my K582 and the flat twin engine is around 3.5" taller. Of course I realize they were never in a Horse and the one I have is a countersale type engine so it was not even meant to be built into a machine when it was new. No idea what the specs are.
