Finally after 4 years and 3 cables, got a throttle on HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!! that works correctly!

Today's drive was from Portland Maine to Colebrook NH and back via much of Route 26 through Grafton Notch Maine and Dixville Notch New Hampshire.

Update and finished restoration....FINALLY. After a long time it is finally finished and runs like a dream! I sanded and painted the entire thing. Rewired it and installed new decals. Rebuild the transmission and carb- split transmission without pulling hubs FYI. I had to hand stitch a new seat cover for it. LOTS OF WORK but totally worth it. Just waiting on the fuel cap to show in the mail. Lol I am now looking for a loader, tiller and 3 point finish mower.

Started taking one of the Commando 8s apart and going to paint it. PO painted it with a brush.

I received my cup today and am honored to be one of the winners. I think your on to something here Richie. Better make a bunch for next years big show. I will cherish it and sure as hell won’t let anyone else put their lips on it. Who knows ? They may have just gotten off a John Deere. I didn’t get that vaccine yet😀

Took a few pics of my tractors in my shop , i think i need another shop !! There is two more , a 312 8 and a 312 Hydro that didn't get there pics taken. The tractor with the big WHEEL HORSE letters was a pulling tractor i bought from a guy. It has a 16HP in it that runs really well. The 1995 F150 4X4 has a 300 six cylinder and AOD and only 47,000 miles. My FIL bought it new for a farm truck , but fortunately he quit farming after he bought it and it just sat.

I worked with a fellow many moons ago that was using a walk behind snowblower. Drove it into a snow bank and it just catastrophically shut off. He backed it off and looked where it was and didn't see anything. Started it right back up and repeated the exact same procedure. He went and got a hand operated digging utensil and soon uncovered a very very solidly frozen road-killed cat.

You got that right Slim. Correct front weights must be made of some semi precious metal judging by the asking prices! That is why I made 2 sets out of flat cast iron barbell weights. A local guy buys and sells used gym equipment - got these 25 pounders for 50 cents a pound a few years ago. Funny, the guy asked what hole size I needed and I said it did not matter. He replied "Oh, you're making wheel weights, eh??" Bill

It's easy enough to account for that. Shovel out the yard. Check for debris. Refill yard. Snowblow yard. You won't anything.

I bought a set of "Terra-Grips" to use this year. I have a set of regular chains but thinking I didn't want to F up my new asphalt! Hopefully they will give me enough grip. I shouldn't need as much grip with the blower as I would with the plow, so I hope they work out well. I got the side extensions from my friend at a local metal shop. They bent the 30° angle, I finished the radiused corners and the mounting holes. All done! Waiting for snow!

Just purchased this from a neighbor, it's almost 15 years old and seen very little use. I think it will be one of the best $50.00 dollars I have spent recently, put it to work today. Sure did save me a bunch of work. So a can of red paint and it will be all fine, RIGHT.

Got a deck back from getting a patch welded on it. Sprayed some paint on it and put it on the 500 Special. I need to pick up a belt that goes from the deck to the engine. 1/2 x 28 is what is in my head . Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I was listening to a rock star from the 80’s today, Billy Squire. When I say listening, I mean listening to him speak as he, his hot wife and myself were having a conversation together. We (the highway department) were paving the road in front of his house when he came out to see what was going on. We chatted for a while and at the end of the conversation he told me his name and I said “like Billy Squire the 80’s rock star?” He laughed and said yes that’s me! We shook hands and I went back to work!

That it after all this time.???? Oh well! Maybe see an engine fitted in another year or so.

Those look like Massey Ferguson weights and yes they will fit in the back of the rim with out issue. I have a double stack of the Cub weights on the inside on my Raider 12 and there is room for one more.

Seeing the reactions from kids with some of the old stuff is always humorous to me. A few years ago I had a 66 F350 with the 352 and 4 speed that I used in my landscaping business for hauling brush off from large tree jobs. One day I was in town on a job when a good friend of mine called, he was supposed to pick up his 12 year old granddaughter from school that afternoon, but he had car trouble and wasn't going to make it in time, and wondered if I could swing by the school and pick her up. Sure, no problem, so on my way to the dump I picked her up. Of course the first thing she commented on was why there were no seatbelts in the truck, then as we took off down the road I noticed she was watching me very carefully, finally after a mile or two she spoke up and asked me what that long stick was coming out of the floor and why I kept messing with it and moving it all the time. Kind of caught me off guard, I know manual transmissions are not as common as they once were, but out here in farm country most kids have at least seen one. But this girl and her mother had just moved out here from a big city, and she honestly had no clue what it was, she had never seen one before.

Well the Ole Ball N Chain has been some busy around the yard here. She works from home 3 to 4 days a week. Some days her job is pretty forgiving about the time it takes to perform and intervals of checking in on the system so Trina can get some things done on occasion. Lately she's been doing a pile of clean up getting rid of the raised bed gardens and distributing that dirt elsewhere.... Amongst 37.2 million other tasks. She spread some of the rehomed aggregate down the woods path.

Finally got it done. I tried to get it started for the first time in 3 years and I turned the key and nothing. So I had to get the ohm meter out to find the problem. I decided to use the amp gage to see if it was charging and sure enough it was dead. I had another gage from my 74 c160 that was working ok before I changed it to a voltage gage. Well this time after about 2 seconds it fired up and runs great. And I decided to install the only seat i kept and made. Everything works and no more rust except for a few bolts I reused. Im very happy with my C160's.

One more pic to close out the mods to the plow blade: This is the RubberCal 1/2" thick plow edge installed. I probably won't get to use this since I finished the blower!

I notice with mine they are either WOT or low idle, there dosnt seem to be much in between. If I go really really really really slow moving it I can find the sweet spot. @ebinmaine... ummm no cans of red paint laying around to paint that trailer with? Any color would be an improvement on that green !

Thanks WHX??. The 854 is a special build of mine - reinforced for plowing. Has the 8 Speed out of the C81's production sister. I like the flat large diameter front weights a lot - keeps the snow out!! Bill

If I recall correctly, I paid $180 for what you see in that pic (wheels, tires, weights and chains). Chains are mis-matched, but I didn't want them anyways. Have them just hanging on the wall right now.

Those look like original Bronc. You can remove the wheel without taking the weights off but something I wouldn't want to do on a regular basis... or without studs. I was seducing the pooch and missed out on this Cub set from @cschannuth & he was gonna let me have them for 150 which I thought was a good deal. Suitcase weights are are hard to find around here, well not real hard but when you do look out $$$ ! I also stupidly passed on a running driving B Hood for 500 and it had 300 worth of weights on it!

I picked these up last summer I think, or maybe it was the summer before. Want to put these one the outside and the split ones pictured above on the inside. I've been looking for a pair of the cub weights, but everybody is asking $100+ for a pair.

About 15 years ago a Russian guy about 18 years old was brought directly from the airport to our campsite. It was my privilege to drive him around Lancaster County so he could see his first glimpse of America. He couldn't speak a word of English, but his aunt was along to interpret. I noticed that he looked confused about how my new Tahoe operates, so he asked his aunt why I wasn't changing gears, he never saw an automatic transmission before. He and I both learned a lot about different cultures that weekend, especially when he went to the pool with basically a sock for swimwear and the chubby girls were in awe.

Ah, yes a trip down Memory Lane..... I for one don't miss having to deal with manual non-self adjusting four wheel drum brakes. Always an adventure after going thru a good sized puddle and then trying to stop. Part of the 5 thousand mile maintainance - regap the points, set the drag on the 4 brakes.

Thanks Ed, I think I'll be happy with them also. I'm real pleased with the way the blower came out! Yes, I'm a quick learner! Had I not seen earlier posts about the 'bass ackwards' extensions, it may not have occurred to me to install them the correct way! Those are much thicker than the 'stock' ones I think! I believe OE is 11 gauge ( 0.120 ) and I had them make these out of the same as the side panels on the 'hull' which is 7 gauge ( 3/16" ). They won't bend! I'm hoping that's not a BAD thing... ya know, like when you hit something, and something's gotta give... probably better that the side plates give. But it's done and I can't change that now! I'll just have to be careful!

Pulled the Perkins 3.152L diesel out of the roller frame tonight. One step closer to indoor storage for the new camper. What will I do with such an engine you ask? I’ve no clue, but it was a great deal at an estate sale!

I get my beet juice 45 minutes from home but I can sorta sidetrack on the way from work. It's worth the drive..... Take the Significant Other out to eat/drink/movie/roller skate/bowling/antique shopping/whatever and just accidentally stop by the Rimguard dealer. Just be VERY careful making jokes about how the vehicle is sagging with all the extra weight.
