10 pointsGot tired of waiting for the tinwork to get back from the sandblaster. Rainy day so I took the tin off the first K181 I did and slapped it on this 2nd one. Just new rings and valves and seats done on this one. Did the first break-in run.

6 pointsMy favorite season is upon me. I love the fall and all that goes with it. In NH October 1 is the first day of hunting season for people who chase upland game. Couple pics from my adventures. Phone says I walked 21000 steps and I enjoyed every one.

5 pointsI have two 23 x 950 x 12 2 ply's that I will give you that came Off the back of my 1989 520. One had a tube in it you can have the tube also.. They round up in the center when they have enough air to hold up the tractor didn't like the way they look. I'll PM my address if you want to come get them.

4 pointsI've always wanted a side by side myself, other than white tailed deer ruffled grouse is my favorite game. I'm not physically able to get after them anymore but have some great memories chasing them with my brothers and friends. When I was a kid we would sit in my grandparents upper pasture and the wood cock migration was right there. The last two hour hours of light was great shooting. My parents bought me my first shotgun, a sixteen gage Winchester model twelve used, mod. I still have it, I've taken many deer and other game with it.

4 points1st thing is you need the shallow side down. It sounds like one of the shafts is not going into the bearing on the other side. You need to just drink a beer or two and wiggle the case a little and get lucky. Seriously!! Actually, some pictures of what you have there might point out to us what is wrong...if something stands out.

4 pointsSeems like I remember something like this back in the Yahoo groups days. I see several flavors online of the concept- Simplicity, AC, cub, but not Wheel Horse. I should add- I thought I had seen a Wheel Horse version, but there don't seem to be any pics still up of it. Not saying that it doesn't exist, just saying I also can't find pictures.

3 pointsWas over visiting my grandmother this evening. A couple years back, my grandfather passed away, and my family helps take care of my grandmother. I went into his shop for nostalgic reasons (spent a lot of time with him out there when I was a thigh-high). A lot of the stuff was cleaned out by family, but there still is a good amount in there, which my grandmother is always telling us to take what we want. When I was in there, I spotted this vintage oiler on the bench. I've been considering picking one up lately, so it almost felt like it was meant to be, how it was sitting perfectly in the middle of the bench when I went in. I know its probably not anything special or expensive, but the sentimental value is priceless. Not sure what this "Rainbow" brand is, but I love the patina and the color. Will clean it up and put it to use in my garage.

3 pointsAh yes the sweet 16 my favorite guage..... and then in a Model 12 at that! Don't you ever sell that one! Shot trap for many years and the Winnie 12 in 12 was my go to. Traded up to a Citori O/U once but went right back to Winnie. Too much ribbing from the guys when I couldn't run 25's anymore! Still a nice gun to carry in the woods as well as over a trap or s keet house or clays but for grouse and woodcock a bit much. A 16 filled that order nicely. I like your talk Bum about a 410 in S x S but for me the price doesn't matter as long as if feels right. Kinda like my wife. So far I have yet to find one that does. The shotgun not the missus that is. Edit: She costs me plenty but she collects her own paycheck and does let me buy tractors and guns.... what's not to love ?!??!

3 pointsOne of the blades has a hitch of about the same proportions as a belly blade hitch that attaches to the rear axle. The blade pivot on the hitch looks kind of tall though. Figuring out the blade is the next thing. Lots of options - a slice of large diameter pipe, a cut down front blade, a piece of 3/16 plate with multiple shallow blends to make a curve. The cutting edge is easy - a piece of 1/4 X 1 1/2 4140 pre hard, drilled to bolt up to the rest of the blade.

3 pointsWhat a great thread this has turned into!! Darb, memories are why we are here. Someday soon I will not be able to chase them but the memories will live on. I too have my first two shotguns, a 410 single my older brothers bought me and a 12 gauge Kmart SxS made by boito in Brazil. Again bought by my brothers as a birthday gift. That old side by side was bigger than me and saved the life of a good many Partridge and Woodcock!!! If any of you love this as I do, please read a Burton Spiller book. Burton is from the town I live in and had a passion for grouse at the turn of the last century. I have a partridge fan tail to put on his grave in my truck. Just gotta get over there! Oh and for you guys who like side by sides a treat!!!

3 pointsI noticed that the neighbor has two garden tractor snow blades clamped to the top of the box blade on the Massey Harris he uses to grade the road. Turns out that he is planning on using the two blades to make a V plow for his four wheeler. He is planning on using that to plow a path out to his ice fishing place on the lake this winter. I asked him if he had any plans for the hitch parts of the blades. He said no. I said good, as one of the hitches looks like it is close to fitting in the rear Tach-A-Matic, and would be a good start on a belly blade for one of my tractors. Will have to do some measuring. The pasties in the ove smell about done - it's dinner time!

3 pointsFinding a .410 double is fairly easy, finding one I would prefer still fairly easy. Paying the price they bring for my wallet is unacceptable, I have the very first gun it is a .410 bolt action single shot. My parents gave it to me for christmas when I was 11, and has taken a huge amount of game over the last 58 years.

3 pointsThere re 2 short aligning pins that can be tricky to get in there respective holes without snagging the gasket More important did you put the differential in the correct direction. long side of differential and nuts go up into the wide section of the tranny housing.

3 pointsSpring is inside the tunnel on the hydro linkage. It is probably broken and a bear to get to with out removing all the linkage. You can rig up an external return spring on the outside of the tractor.

3 pointsAs do I. I’m particularly fond of AH Fox. I have a 20, 16 and 12. The picture is of my 1908 A grade 12. I use Vintager 2 1/2” spreader loads as it is choked modified and full. Next outing will be the 20, as I like to get them all out at least once a season.

3 pointsWe took a long drive today. Started in our Missouri location, and ended up 14 hours in our primary Michigan location. 690 miles on the Ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi. 22.5 mpg overall. About 100 miles from home, it was registering 22.9 mpg.

3 pointsHey guys, remember me? Long time since I've been here. Hope everyone is well! The rusted muffler on my '89 310-8 has been bugging me since I got it last year. I don't want to lose it, they're too pricey to replace. Today, I finally removed it, cleaned it up and painted it. I was happy to see no rust on the baffles from both the input and output side. You can see how bad the pitting was, but it still completely solid! Hoping this will give it a few more years of life! And last weekend, I made a 3/4-assed trailer hitch for my generator. She lives in the backyard, and dragging it all the way around the house to the garage, makes me never service it. Some powder coated 2" square tubing hacked off an old piece of exercise equipment, 2 aluminum plates epoxied together and machined to size, a few 5/16" holes, a 3/8" pin cross-drilled for hitch clips and presto! I will now regularly service my generator. (Also an excuse for more seat time!!!) That block on top of the tractor side of the hitch; I was going to grind off the welds and chuck it, but well... no need. It works perfectly. Leaving it.

3 pointsI got the 418-A ready for fall (dirt) and winter (snow) plowing. 6 gallons of RV antifreeze fluid in each tire and weight went from 42.6 lbs. to 88.8 lbs.

2 pointsCan looks as old as the tractor Slim. Linseed does work, looks great and a fair to middlin metal protector but does have it's drawbacks. It attracts dust and does need to be reapplied occasionally. I would suggest you stay with 23s on the rear but eventually go with tri ribs on the front. Tri ribs are easier to control in the furrow. Those turfs are going to want to "plow" as well if soft soil. Gotta like your front weights tho!

I hate to bother you all. i see some of you have a hauler that looks like a little jeep. made in benton harbor. some one borrowed mine and said they broke the starter. they finally brought it back in boxes. so i got it all put back to gether but for a couple missing parts i don't remember what they look like. the first link from the gas foot petal to the back and the next piece of the throttle linkage there but the piece that goes from the top of that flat linkage back to a lever and the lever and the last tiny little link that hooks to the carb/governor linkage. Help please. i can make anything but not sure. I think it goes from the front link and it twist around that screw and then to a lever that pivot to make it pull the lever from other side of pivot. can you take me a couple pictures of the linkage. I am in a wheelchair and that is the only way i get around the farm. so i can't wait to get it back. I should of never loaned it out but they wanted to put it in a parade. Thanks for all your help. Might post this to the group if i can remember how to do it. lol Thanks Tim E.

2 pointsI have tins blasted all the time.Not sure what they use on them, but they always come back fine. My Briggs 18 twin had 2 screws holding on each exhaust manifold. Yours appears to either be different, or the flanges on the manifold pipes are gone. In the pic below, there are 2 different styles. The muffkin itself is screwed to the (tins I think) to hold it on.

Been super busy, new multifaceted role at work has me staying later there, helping mrs with yard sale stuff to liquidate last couple of weeks, printing orders etc. In spare moments between, and now trying to slip some deck pressure washing in in the evenings. This is the first eve ive sat down before dark in a while. Loving the Hummer, washed it yeaterday..then it rained lol, Just wanted to give everyone a wave!

2 pointsI tried the linseed oil treatment and have to say I like it especially since I couldn’t do a nice paint job to save my life. Maybe I just need more patience but they have never been show quality when I did do one. I found this can downstairs and have no clue as to how old it is but I didn’t see an expiration date. This is my first linseed oil attempt.

2 pointsQuite a few grouse in northern WI but they do run in ten year cycles. I don't walk out the cabin door with out a .410 single in the fall. In the market for .410 in a double. ever find one I like.

2 pointsGood to hear. Always good when you fix up the wire harness and then everything works properly. The 520's get a bad rap for wiring issues but with a properly maintained harness there is no problem.

2 pointsThe 1277 is a hydro (automatic) transmission and has no brakes other than the transmission. On page 9, item 176 is called a brake return spring and in conjunction with cam plate 178 will return the transmission to neutral which functions as a brake to stop the tractor.

2 pointsBeen marshalling on a car rally. All stages on an old W2 air field. Windy, cold and for the most part wet. Though the club we were marshalling for do look after people. Free bacon roll and coffee in the morning. Soup, roll and coffee at lunch time. Finally after the finish, a very nice roast beef dinner.
