Today was the first Cumbria Classic for two years. Held at Dalemain House, near Penrith Cumbria. UK. Eldest grandson, his wife and great grandson are over from Cyprus for a couple of weeks. Liam persuaded me to go, as I'd not been for a number of years. So the four off us had an afternoon there. There were 419 entries plus club displays totalling a further 206 entries. There was cars, motorcycles, 4x4s, vans, military plus campers and caravans along with trade stands etc. To much to photograph, but below is a selection. Land Rover based Tomcat. 3.9 V8. Morris 1000 Traveler. I had a 1966 model that I dropped a 1500 Wolseley engine in. Morris 1000 convertible. SWMBOs ream car. And she can keep on dreaming. This would do me if I could afford the fuel. Just the steering wheel is on the wrong side. I haven't seen one of these for years. Austin Champ with Rolls Royce engine as standard. Will go backwards as fast as it will go forwards. This Standard Vanguard pickup is the only one I have ever seen. Me want! Ford Anglia. Had one with a Cortina GT 1600 stage 2 tuned engine. Shocked quite a few at the traffic light GP. Another I once owned. Triumph Vitesse with 1600 straight 6. That's all folks.

Busy weekend mounting new tires on restored wheels for the 418-A. This will be used for dirt and snow plowing. Unfortunately, the ags are too big when the mower deck is on so had to switch back to the turfs. Love the V61 fronts. Also needed to change a leaking axle seal on the right so made the recommended hub removal tool. Work like a charm.

My yard art machine…wife put solar Christmas type lights on it last December and I kinda like em so they have never come off! Need to restring the ones on the front tire. Photo eye controlled so they come on at dark each night

I recently picked up the very same cover. I love it. Kinda pricey for the material in it but there's nothing like something that is designed for a specific purpose and does it well. Yes, it does. We had a 12 hour outage a couple weeks ago. Being the first use of it I was watching it carefully but there were no issues. The entire front lifts up making refueling a snap. Money well spent for the peace of mind.

So as someone who has lived with these thing all of my 67 years especially in the last 15 years, the one thing I can tell you for sure, take none of them lightly. Yes the news media and the weather media may hype them up some, but listen to them. If you live close to the ocean or gulf 40 miles or less then pay close attention to the wind speed, and less than 5 miles from the coast the title surge also if you live inland pay attention to the wind speed and rain fall, even a cat 1 hurricane can ruin your day or week or month. Not trying to scare anyone but after going through may tropical storms some cat 1 and 2 and 3 and possibly a small cat 4 depending on where you actually live, none are something to take lightly. So if you prepare for the worst and if not much happens you are FAR BETTER OFF than if you did nothing and the damn thing came up your front door, been there done both.

Looks like we dodged a bullet, as the storm center went to the east of us. The center went between Montauk point and Block Island. We have received a decent amount of rain and wind but so far so good. It appears that to the west of me they are receiving substantially more rain and less wind. I got a few calls with the fire department, wires down etc, but luckily nothing major. Stephanie Abrams from The Weather Channel was out in Montauk, I did want to go see her 😜

The 953/1045 have a three speed transmission, stamped steel rear fenders that are a welded unit and the hood is attached with bolts. The GT-14 has a Sundstrand hydromantic transaxle, rear fenders that are made up of multiple pieces and the hood is hinged with a latch at the front. 953 GT-14

I finally replaced the rotten Frankenstein deck on my Dixie horse tractor. Scored a nice solid 42 side discharge. only has one little pin hole, which is a major improvement over the last one.

You guys are forgetting. Tropical storms have a mind of their own. They will turn, speed up slow down and even stop. This storm turned a bit east. It could of went west and went straight through NYC. The news stations get their info from the National Hurricane center. Yes they might dramatize it a bit. But would you rather have them say nothing will happen and then you get blasted? Be thankful we have a warning. Some countries are lucky to even have electricity BEFORE the storm hits.

Try living in a hospital for four months . I have some horror stories . I was a lucky one and had a private room due to my loud snoring . When I had a issue I just called patient relations and made my complaint. Skip past the nurse manager and floor manager. They sure got their act together real quick just mentioning patient relations . I also had a very good doctor that was always behind, even waited 5hrs for my appointment . When I finally got to see him he explained that his previous patient wanted to commit suicide . I totally understand why he was so late . I always made my appointments 3 and 6 months in advance. He’d always give you all his time that you needed just like the patient before me . My new doctor is very punctual and you better be there on time and he wants you out so the next person doesn’t have to wait . I’ll tell you I’d take my first doctor even with the waiting because he wanted to know and understand what my needs were .

True, legit Pennsylvania barn find. Been in the same family it's whole life. Purchased from his uncle(original owner)when he was 9 years old. Tucked away in the barn ever since. Uncle worked it, has 750ish hours on the meter. Young man did a fine job of preserving it for me. Wanted one I could work without feeling guilty about it. Oh! Did I say, that 20hp Kohler purrs like a kitten? So easy to see... we love it already. 👍👍

Yep, I'm still doing it! This true barn find jumped in my truck today, and it purrs like a kitten! 1 of only 200 produced. '86 Wheel-Horse model 420-LSE. Limited Special Edition.

I inherited my moms 416h with the mower deck, bagger and snow blower. I have really no use for it because my lawn takes a little over 30 minutes to push mow. I was curious of the value for this machine everything together. I am looking to sell it to someone that will actually put it to some use. The only thing I know it can use is a new battery. Oh it also has wheel weights currently installed. Can send pics if someone is interested. I was surprised when I came across the Red Square site, I had no idea these machines had this level of following. khoeper1@gmail.com

A 10 pinion maybe less strong as a 8 pinion, but would still prefer that limited slip over a fully locked diff.

We have both limited slip differentials and non limited slip here. We have VERY rough terrain. I can tell you from much experience that my non limited slip Cinnamon Horse C160 will pull anything I ever want it too. I can also tell you that Trina's limited slip tractor has excellent traction with FAR less weight needed. Speaking from my own experiences.... I would NOT want a fully locked differential on a working tractor. Ever. Turns are terrible. Tires will wear quickly. Parts will break prematurely. Traction when pulling a heavy load around a corner will be WORSE because the puller will be fighting it's own traction battle. That situation will give you a machine out of control and very unsafe to operate. If you want the Ultimate possible traction from a Wheelhorse tractor get a PROPERLY WORKING 10 pinion limited slip transmission. Get the tractor HEAVY!! Combining extra weight like fluid filled tires & lots of steel weight..... with a limited slip differential..... ? Yessir.

The 10 pinion LS differential has 10 pinions that "float" in the differential. They are not on a post and can't be turned over to try to lock. They are the same on both ends, and I think trying to weld them would be messy, and may not even work. Remember, he did not want to hurt the trans. No, the 4 or 8 pinion is the only way to go. I know this subject has been talked about before. Maybe do a search in the Puller Section. Pullers are the only reason to do this to a trans. The #5086 is a 4 pinion with 1" axles and has the hi/low range like an 8 speed. Puller's prefer the 8 pinion with 1 1/8" axles...#5091. The 416 8 would have basically the same transmission as a #5091. The #110995 has 8 pinions with 1 1/8" axles also. I think the difference between the #5091 and the #110995 is Wheel Horse vs TORO numbers.

All True... I'll never forget Donna though. They said she was coming and she sure did! Very scary night. But... If she had changed course, and not hit, she would be a mere footnote in history. And forgotten. So yeah, Henri will become a forgotten footnote. The Joisey Shaw won't forget Donna or Sandy though! Some of us may still remember 1938 too! Not a lot of warning for that one!

Once again the media blows it all out of proportion for the almighty ratings. It did rain a lot last night but virtually no wind whatever.

I'd bet the next patient after me had to wait longer because the doctors and nurses were probably LTFAO for a while. Went in for an emergency surgery to remove my appendix. I was totally unprepared at the time and have a bunch of excuses for not being manscaped. Some poor soul had to shave that entire area and went down just to the top of the ......... and left the rest alone. When I got home later that day and took a look down there, It looked like Larry from the 3 stooges or maybe Einstein! I ran out laughing to show the O'lady and she laughed her @ss off too.
