OK. I see my pictures didn't upload properly from my phone. My new S20 smart phone is saving pictures in Apple's HEIC format instead of Windows JPG format. I''ve got my phone set to convert them when I use the "share" icon, but it's not converting them when I just use the "upload" feature on the forum. I'll try to convert them manually later tonight when I get home and then re-upload them. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm new to the forum and I still need to work the bugs out.

This comes up pretty often. The locking bolts in the axle hub should be torqued to 28-32 ft lb. Most know you can't do that with a 3" wrench. If you have an eight point socket, great. I don't. Not sure I've ever seen one. I use a 3/8" hex head socket 3/8" drive. I put the 3/8 drive end on the square head of the bolt and use a 3/8" socket on my torque wrench...

Got to turn some earth with my younger boys this afternoon. It wasn’t the best plowing but it was decent. It is always fun to spend time “in the saddle” with my kiddos. Zach was doing really good with GhostRider and Judge was plowing with his CC100. We turned about 2 acres in a few hours…might upload a video to my YouTube channel later.

Wow thanks bunches fellas. Actually worked my tail off today. Got the horse hauler ready for the next show. Got a load of dirt to fill in around were the county had to cut into my driveway for new blacktop on my road. Then grubbed out some very old lilac bushes that seen better days. Kept ripping off the license plate off the hauler when backing it down the lane so had to go! Got by with a little help from my friends. I shoulda coulda woulda been up north hob nobbing with @Achto but this is the first weekend in along time at home so need to get crap done around the ranch. Actually never cracked a beer but saw the captain when the food went on around 4. Cindy made some awesome kabobs with shrimp, andoullie sausage and the works. She also got me some nice presents. I don't deserve her! The big 62 I know I could be retarded..... er retired like Squonky but the pay checks are still too nice!

Got nearly 3 hours of seat time on the Raider 12. Mowed about 3 acres of right of ways between the farms. That HH120 is a sipper, using less than 2 gallon to crank the 42"SD for 3 hours.

Got told to take it easy over the weekend after a funny turn yesterday. OK now. So had quiet day pup minding mostly. In the afternoon eldest daughter turned up, followed by youngest and grandchildren. To see the pup, not me of course.

North? Get up to Northern Aroostook County. I got a bunch of relatives buried up there. If your walking thru the woods and hear the voice of a woman talking non-stop in French, that's my Aunt Rose. Tell her I said hello!

Spent the day at one of our local churches, the one where we got married. They were having a gardening day and asked me if I could do anything about a 40 foot tree that had become a nuisance. Didn't have to ask twice, I scaled it and took it down in stages. Very happy vicar and church warden.

Don't get me wrong.I love my Wheel Horse tractors, but if you're looking for something with a front end loader,3 point hitch and rear PTO,I'd look around for a 4 wheel drive compact farm tractor.probably with a diesel engine. While powerful and dependable plus fairly easy to work on,These Horses DO have their limitations.I don't want to offend anyone here.Just my 2 cents worth.Like I said......I still love my Wheel Horse tractors and use the heck out of them.

Good News!!! I got my C-120 running today and not "on the bottle". I cobbled together a battery to the solenoid and coil and gave it a shot of carb cleaner and it popped and threw some junk off the motor. I opened the valve on the tank and after cranking, it fired up. Ran fairly well but it was hard to control the RPM's and it was backfiring a little (I don't have the muffler on currently so there's that). I had it idling fairly well at one point but then had issues getting it started. I pulled the brand new plug and it looked wet and black like it was running to rich. At that point, I noticed I had gas leaking from the fuel line at a few points so I shut it down. After looking a little closer it seems the hoses are a little crusty and showing some cracks. I then decided to take a look in the fuel bowl. I found the mess below. At that point I figure I'll need to get a carb kit and go through it and replaces hoses and filter as well. I think I have a Kohler 4705313 carb on this machine. Is there a superseded number for that so I can find an overhaul kit? The carb does not seem to have worn shafts and I like to rebuild rather than replace if I can. So I have found out this much. The engine sounds rather good. No clunks or smoke. The starter and solenoid are good. I think I'll invest a little in the motor and see if I can get it purring and then check out the tranny. In the process of doin this work today, I pulled the choke cable housing loose from the mechanism on the dash. I'll need to remove the dash and try a repair to that and lube the cable while I'm at it. Having fun now! Bentoolong

Put a new hitch on my tractor: Barely finished before it started to rain: Unfortunately...some klutz (name withheld to preserve his fragile dignity) broke my plow bracket, through means that we will not mention due to its excessive stupidity. *sigh* So I'm officially saving for a welder.

I agree with several other posts in that in your case a 4wd SCUT with front loader is probably a better choice. I dearly love my horses - I have 3 of the Big D's, and one has the PTO and 3 pt. I've never used the PTO, attachments for it are scarce as hens teeth. The 3 point is handy, but here again attachments are a bit scarce. I have 5 acres and - try too! - keep up 2-2 1/2 of them. I had REALLY wanted a FEL 4wd diesel smaller tractor for some time, so I start prowling CL and after a few months I found a Mitsubishi that met my wants, ugly as hell, but ran and operated very nicely for $4200. I LOVE that thing!! The FEL is one the best things!! I'm constantly finding something to use it. You mentioned there was a D160 near you, If it has the Kohler 16hp and 3 point with a 48" deck, then that is a nice one and while parts are getting scarce (but ALL the horse parts are getting scarce!) are out there, that Kohler 16hp has good parts coverage. The hyd drive is/can be a weak point.

Shared the Pickup today with Mr. Tractorhead. After she had her cardiologic Troubles, she gets daily better. So we decided she needs again a Bike to train her fitness, but what to choose after her Knee surgery. We finalized the decision with a ( i believe) great Bike. it‘s becomes finally a Scott E-Bike.

Bought a 1996 314 Hydro with hydro lift on Monday . 50th Anniversary edition. 684 hours and pretty nice. I didn’t really need it but the price was just begging me to pick it up. I did something I haven’t done in a while, I test drove it and mowed with it on Monday snd thought about it overnight. I could not believe how clean this 314 was inside and how well the motor ran. The transmission works very good too! Went and picked it up on Tuesday! Got a call while I was driving home asking if I had a 42 inch mower deck. Sold it before I got home with the tractor on my trailer! Painted up the muffler with heat paint and changed the spark plug and air cleaner. Put hi temp heat paint on the muffler to make it last. Picked up my New Old Stock Firestone Town and Country tires today. Bought these from Squonk and they are nice. Put tubes in them . Painted a slot hitch that I picked up at the Gettysburg big show.

Just enjoying the cool morning and the light hitting it just right. The camera never does it justice. I bought a $20.00 carb till I rebuild the original one. Works good so far. I had to drill out the choke lever and governor lever to get the cable and linkage thru. Also the air cleaner housing the drill and tap depth was way off so had to jury rig that for the housing to fit. Outer than that it works good no leaks . It is a good tractor now, as always fun to tinker with these old Iron tractors. Hope you enjoy the picks.

I have a Massey Ferguson 16 with a start of a 3 point hitch. Are 3 point hitch parts specific to tractor brands, or are they pretty much generic for most garden tractors?

Got this from a buddy this morning. He used to use it to blow his driveway but it’s been sitting outside a few years unused. It also has a mower deck. Plan is to clean it up and put it back to work. I love my Kohlers. Looking for a replacement metal fender.
