The last few months I picked up a couple of Ford N-series tractors. First one I picked up is a 1944 2N (the painted greyish-beige one). The other one I picked up last weekend. It's a 1947 8N with some modifications, i.e. side distributor instead of the front mount distributor. And this 8N, someone replaced the original 8N engine with a late 2N engine. The serial number on the block was hard to read, but I was able to deciphered it enough to find out it was a 2N engine. Luckily I found another serial number stamped on the transmission that makes it a early 1947 8N, which from the other features on the tractor corresponds to it being an early '47 8N.

Me, BBT, her mom, and the Meeha Mirror spent some time processing firewood yesterday. We put the effort for the day into cleaning up a clearing that was expanded when we took a few trees down. The area in the pics plus dead center of the top pic but well into the ferns. Quite a few big chunks of hollow maple tree there. I cut those down the middle to make handling them easier. Tools of the day included Cinnamon Horse C160, trailer full of stuff, the splitter and of course the Trina Mama. Here's a "during" shot. Touched up the saw blade a bit. Here's what the area looks like now. The stacks are probably 6 feet, and 10 feet long. 4+ foot high. That's mostly beech and poplar so it'll be usable in about 4 months. There's about the same amount of those big maple chunks still to be cut. Brush pile is maybe 15 x 20 feet. Me and the Mackissic chipper will have a discussion with the brush later in the fall. Trina found a little friend exploring our work area when we shut down for the day. The view upstream from our bridge. The end of the festivities called for a cold one supplied by @Handy Don. This morning we'll be using tractors and trailers to move a couple cord of wood to the basement for winter storage. Then maybe back to the forest to work on the above area some more.....

This become a Project of my Heart. This year The neighbour Farmers ask me if i‘m willing to help them out, to check the fields before mowing to seek for Baby deers. i agrred immediately. We run about few hours and it seemed nothing is there. Than they begin the first part of mowing carefully. Once a Mower stops immediately but it was too late. We missed one Baby Deer in the higher Grass and it became a victim of the Mower. I was about 10 meters far and i swear, that should be the last victim in my Area. So i begun with maximum force to develop a Solution with a Thermal imager and a Camera togerter as a Seek system for my Drone. Yap such a solution can be bought for several thousands of Dollars. ( range is from 5000 up to more as 10.000$) what is completely out of my Hobbyist Budget. i get a Seek pro Mobilephone Thermal imager, a Raspberry Pie, my FPV equippment and bring that all together to run. it is not 100% finished now, but my first results give me a good Feeling. I found few good sources to start with, added few things and try and coding, try and coding until Today. Today‘s maiden flight was IMHO a fully Success. it was all bound on quick and dirty, but i get a flight time of 25 min what is a dang good result. Sadly the Thermal cams with high frame are hard to get. So i must dealing with a <9Hz version, what is very Slow, but it works not too bad. While i forgot to put a TF Card in the Videorecorder, i have no Pics of Videos. The Way the thing goes told me i must continoue this Way. now i will enlightened all the unneeded things, to increase the Flighttime. Each gramms counts here. few Pics of my Setup ‚til now after i disassembled it to improove the weight saving. A 1500 mAh Lipo to compare dimensions the Seekcam mount and also the Video Cam mount together here is removed. a new version i had actually on the 3D Printer will save another 20 gramms The right Side shows the Raspi with SSD Harddisk and a 2 Way Video Switch, a Second 5V Regulator, a Video mixer and the FPV Transmitter here without Antenna. all squeezed in smalles Parts.without enclosures stick with 3M 2 side Tape. The Gimbal and the High Res Video Cam with Full HD possibillity An old membercard is used as insulatormount. The actual weight is Copter 980 gramms incl. 4500 mAh Lipo Battery 236 gramms of the whole Video processing Unit platform That results in 1216 gramms gros weight Airborne. the Bad was the Mavlink Telemetry Controller dies on the Session flying. but the Drone itself make a perfect Job until this happens, it flies the path and returned save home. For now the Invest was 500$ and a lot of hours Coding and testing any others here on Redsquare with activity‘s on the same issue?

Great weather in my outdoor paint booth this weekend to clean up and paint some wheels. They'll be silver when done. Tires are on order. Carlisle Tru Power 23x10.5-8 Ags for the rear, and V61 5 Rib 16x6.5-8 for the front. This will be my set for garden plowing and snow removal on the 520-H or 418-A.

Well, I now join you with one kidney. Any tips? Like diet or anything...I know that Tylenol is my pain med and no Motrin...but anything more down to earth. Howard came home yesterday and I left the hospital on Friday.

At a bit of a loss what to do today. Then I had a thought. I'll cut back the first half of the bridleway. It had got somewhat overgrown. So out with the C-81 and finger bar. Nice steady pass down. Low 1st. Then back up. I'll maybe tackle the second section tomorrow. Though that is really bad. I could do with a front mounted flail mower.

Today we had to put down our loving companion of the last 14 years. A real hard and heart wrenching decision for us. It’s going to take a while to get over it if possible at all. We brought her home and buried her under her favorite window where she spent most of her life watching all the birds , squirrels and chip monks. She will be in our hearts forever. Rest In Peace dear Bailey.

I can see from your profile Mr. Star you have just as a fine taste in tractors as well as people, thank you for your service to our country as well.

@David Star You have made a great gift to HOWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD and hope to meet you next year at the BIG SHOW. I will be glad to see both of you next year. Welcome to Red Square .

I like what you're doing Stephan. Working on farms in my younger years I have run more than one fawn through a haybine. Not only a bit depressing but at times a real mess to clean out of the crimpers. Keep up your campaign.

The biggest Problem to do that is the less flighttime of the Drones. The bigger and the better the camera is, the less is the flight time. i working on a compromise the cheap Camera to find themal differences and than a Video review. the focus and the alignment of the both Camerasystems is the next Task i have to solve. but it works for now. To have an idea basic flight time without anything is 45min, what is a heck of flighttime. with the old gimbal and Actioncam together it drops down to 37 min. +115 grams of Payload. i changed the gimbal to a lighter one ( expensive) and tune few things down. i also reworked the inside of my Drone to save weight. an additional OSD ( On Screen Display) will inform me on the Battery Status to estimate my Flighttime. the whole flighttime with the complete actual Videoequipped Setup was 25 min. i plan to strip it down til i reached 30-35 min. That is a real hard Plan and still a lot of Work to do. but i didn‘t give up. let the fawns become a Deer and harvesting them after they had a great life!

If I could deflate them that would work but being fluid filled I don’t think the cards would fit. Vaseline sounds interesting 🤔. On another note piston installed and oil pan bolted up. My dad’s old ring compressor. Always cool to use dad’s tools, he’s been gone almost 50 years.

I didn't understand most of that because I know nothing about drones. But I think it's great what you are trying to do..

Get one the same HP voltage and RPM. You can adapt / drill the mount if you have to. Get the same diameter pulley if you get a different size shaft. Or for a few hundred more you can by a new compressor with a NEW TANK. For safety reasons this may be a better option. Tanks don't last forever and can become dangerous!

I'm posting these photos to show how I added 10" to the midsection of a 310-8 frame. But I'm taken it apart for repurpose in a new direction. The small frame slot goes into the footrest bar while fitting inside the large frame. The axel cradle pin goes into a 3"x 6" angle plate to tie the sections together. Just putting this out there and yes it's heavy.

It's like a footpath, only you can also ride horses down it. Hence bridleway. No motorised traffic allowed. Except for access. I.e. For a farmer to reach fields. As you can see, this one doesn't see much use as it doesn't lead anywhere. I'm the only person who uses this section, at the end of which joins a farm track, then terminates in a field. In days of yore it may have gone further. Total length now is about a mile or so. Makes a nice little run for my tractors.

I have converted five 520's and one 312H to Matt's foot control and although there is a cost involved, the outcome is well worth it. Makes doing virtually all tasks with the wheel Horses much more enjoyable and faster.

Breakers limit amperage, since whatever loads are turned on in the camper will actually draw half the amps on 240 volts there is less than no protection. You can buy an EMS that will shut down the supply but they are expensive. I check my voltmeter before turning on anything expensive. The biggest problem in campgrounds is low voltage, which can burn out appliances that have a motor, like an air conditioner.

Those are just too cool. Dang they are fun to look at, and I know they are fun to drive...especially with a full wagon of hay hitched up.

Take off the vertical console plate by removing 4 screws. The cam is held in place with 2 bolts. The problem is that the neutral start switch is mounted on it. My suggestion is to put some lubricant on the cam and pin so it slides easily. I remove the console plates annually, then clean everything followed by lubricating all moving joints. I have used the steering column motion control lever for thousands of hours and don't understand the fuss.

    # 12 will work but I would go with the # 10 copper while you are at it. If in the future you decide to upgrade to a unit with heat that will be needed.

Should be pretty simple to swap to the lower mount motion control lever. Or you can remove the cam thing that makes you push down to reverse on the column.

As far as hydros go I cut my teeth on a 520 so I guess I’m biased. I prefer the manuals l grew up on and that I have now. But, I prefer the 520 column lever to the Charger 12 location. I think it’s just what you get used to.

Here is a short Demovideo of the FPV System i actually running No the Drone is not fixed, i plan to use Mavlink, an GPS located route to fly before mowing. The plan is if they will mow, i fly in the morning before they do the Field to find thermal differences, than i can switch to the Real Vide to see what it is. If it‘s a rabbit they will flee but not the fawns as you fella’s know. The next Step is a crosslink to Alarm the seekers, that they can save the fawn and continue mowing. Yes, is seems i‘m on a good Way!

Our Bluebirds were ready to fledge so when the nesting box went quiet we wanted to confirm the happy event. All five where gone but it was an escape with mother blue giving her life in a HOSP attack. Searching our backyard we found all five survived but with one parent, all may not get fed. But this won't be, because we trained daddy blue to come for our mealworms. One day the chicks would leave our backyard to explore their world. Before they do, they will leave us good memories of watching them learn to eat at the sound of our chimes.

The Work Horse is basically a discount version of a Wheelhorse. There might have a cheaper engine and are more basic. Nearly all parts can be interchanged. Here is an older discussion.

Got a little more done with the nice weather this weekend. Painted front wheels and mounted new rib tires, got the steering set and got it rolling. These are the tears I’m going to use. They are loaded and came off my loader tractor. I need to paint them to match but because they’re loaded I’ll have to do it with the tires on. Tips or tricks appreciated. Now into the basement to put the piston and rod in a K341.

Here is your picture. Went down to see if I could get one. It pulls it over tight to the deck don't see how it could bet back to the grease fitting. Might need a larger diameter pin, that all had to see it it works. My larger pins are all for hitch pins and I don't thing they would go through the hole.

Spend the x tra $100. Your AC compressor will thank you. If you get enough voltage drop you will shorten the life of the compressor.

That should draw 15-20 amps. You don't want to run the minimum, but here is a wire chart to give you an idea what you need for the distance.

Installed a Friedrich thru-the wall 24,000 btu and had a licensed electrician wire it. Outlet was 6' from 200 amp panel and he used 12-2 to feed it. Specs on A/C unit,230/208 and cooling amps 10.6/11.4.
  46. 2 points
The air conditioner is likely about 12 amps, it will be marked on it. AC outlets are 20 amp, while #12 wire would be OK, due to the distance I would consider #10.

The line from my compressor has a low-point drain outside the barn. Moisture in the hot air from the compressor will condense out in the underground line and work its way back to the trap where it can be blown out by the air pressure. All it takes is a "T", two 90s and a ball valve.
