UPDATE ON HOWARD I just received a message from Howard's son this morning, stating that Howard's kidney transplant surgery is set for this Wednesday. He is doing all of his final testing today. Please continue to keep Howard, Howard's family, the special person who stepped up to give Howard one of their kidneys, their family, the medical teams for both patients, the surgeons and most importantly for a recovery for both individuals that would be smooth and infection free. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, and as always I will keep you all posted with updates as I get them.

If you order the through the website you can choose pay by check. Also add note to seller with special requests during checkout. Never said I wouldn't take a check I just prefer digital transactions. First time in 14 years anyone called me a pain in the a#$ again sorry for your disappointment.
  7. 8 points
Sorry you feel that way. I am mailing a check back to you ASAP. July is always a difficult and busy time for me but with Lola's Health issues it has been extremely difficult. The good news is they finally got her BP to normal range after changing meds 3 times so were happy about that and she should be fine going forward. Thanks to everyone for your patience. I expect to be caught up with show orders by the end of the week. OOPS! spoke to soon. just as I am typing this Lola just told me her BP has spiked again to 159/109 Why cant they figure out what's causing this. Terry

Well said Steve. Darrell, simply go to my website and order what you need if you can find it. Select pay by check and I'll do my best to get them to you asap. It is not about the money. It's about your tractor. Let's call it miscommunication at a stressful time in both our lives. Wheel Horse brings people together. H I pe to see you at the big show some day.

A few tractor pics that I managed to take. With Case as the feature, there were some really good literature that a person could spend a few hours reading through. This saw mill used two steam engines to run the mill. A line of early Case tractors. Case orchard models. Case 1570 "Spirit of 76" Some stone crushing. Nice restored Allis-Chalmers. A little racing going on here. One vintage combine trying to get the wheat off before the sun goes down.

So my neighbor had a new door with side- lites installed... As many of you know, and I personally do too, the brick mold and trim around these door units are not made of anywhere near hardwood. Even with proper installation and protective covering(paint), the wood seems to be prone to premature rot and decay... The best way to combat this is to cover the brick mold, and as much of the exposed wood with trim metal as possible. So I have a metal break, and that's what we did... What do you think ?

You are well worth the wait in my book Terry. Take good care of Lola first, then mail his check.

Terry is the best. In my experiences he has gone out of his way to make exactly what I was looking for. @Vinylguyhas made 3 custom sets and I also purchased a classic set from him. I can't see how you claim it is a pain to do business with him. In my opinion there is no other place to go.

Had to bump out the hood side for the water pump. ✅

I don't recall the ratio I used but I did exactly what he did with the exact same gun/filters. I used a better desiccant filter before the gun though. I used this rattle can primer in both gray and black so when I wet sanded it before paint I could see imperfections. I used this paint gun. If you want really make it nice, you have to multi-stage wet sand and three stage buff it afterwards. I used these polishing compounds because they work good, but you can probably find something cheaper. It's a lot of work, but it works. The below tractors were both done that way. They tend to chip easier unless you use hardener, but I guess it depends on what you are going to do with it. The prep makes a difference if you want no rust pits, casting marks or other imperfections showing. Other guys on here have used other methods as well that made for outstanding paint jobs, but I was answering your Rustoleum/rattle can question.

Geez...does anybody have American Tech Support any more? I can understand what you are going through, but I would imagine the other 2 guys I mentioned do not do American Express either. It is a good card, but it just doesn't have the appeal that it used to. Well, just know that Terry is excellent people and he has a ton of respect on this forum. He and his wife, Lola, are very good friends of mine and my wife, and I know Lola is having some health issues. I know he takes orders at the Big Show, maybe you could order and pre pay at the show. Terry posted above as I was typing this.

Lots of steamers at this show. Case was the feature this year. Dan's makeshift cover for the grill ... he made his pulled pork for the mafia pot luck. Speaking of tubs ...it was so hot out we took to cooling off any way we could! Now you know why these tubs are indispensable at a show! Dan with his two bros and niece. The coconuts started to chafe abit so we transplanted them to Dan......

I have a tool & die shop and did the machining on a Bridgeport vertical milling machine using end mills. The steel is 4140 HT so it should outlast the tractor and loader. I bored the large hole for the pump boss for a perfect fit so that the bolt holes don't take much of a load. I used 4 bolts to mount the bracket to the sub-frame after having too many problems with the original 2 bolt setup. I left a web between each pair of slots to keep the slots from spreading. The sub-frame was supposed to fit a number of Wheelhorse models but, as you can see there would be interference with the PTO hoop and the floor board if the pump were mounted directly in line with the mount.

Set up on Thursday but doesn't start still Friday . Unlike the BS Kev goes well into Sunday but long haulers will leave Sunday am. Best off just having a couple of ride arounds maybe one display tractor but not nessecsary as the local WH boys usually got this covered on displays. Absolutely one of the best shows in the Midwest. Club grounds and working stationary diplays are second to none. Plowing can be done but Mike or Tom will gladly lend you a rig for a couple of rows. As far hotels & such MN boys will have to chime in. If I have to do a solo run, and it may come to that., I will just do the Walmart thing for a night.

I spoke with Terry this morning. He worked up a quote on 5 sets of decals, put me in his files etc. I know he's very busy right now, but he treated me like I was his only customer. Thanks Terry for all you do for us Wheel Horse guys!!!

There is a lot of places that do not take American Express...there was another guy that used to show up at the Big Show, but I do not remember his name at the moment. Maybe check with @meadowfield from England...but like D-Mac said. Terry is the go to guy, and he does do custom if he does not have it in stock. I think Terry does Paypal, he might take a check or a money order.

Will never forget. Underneath the hood is a sticker with the mileage (hours) when I received it - in memory of him. Believe me, it receives TLC. Have to be careful, wife doesn’t get jealous. May notice, tires have been replaced and upgraded, electrical refurbished, head gasket, points, plugs, belts, condenser, seat, and air filter are all new. It’s probably in as good of condition as it was in 1982.

UPDATE on Howard... I received a text message from Howard on Friday night informing me that he has a follow up appointment on Monday to check the "touch of" bronchitis that the medical team found. As many of you can recall, he was going in for a kidney transplant surgery when the doctors made the call to cancel Howard's surgery because there was a small chance that he may have bronchitis. The medical team and the doctors sent Howard home with a vast variety of antibiotics. Well, his antibiotics are done and he is going in on Monday to see if the "touch of" bronchitis is gone. Please keep Howard and his donor in your thoughts and prayers, that they both are infection free and that the medical team can schedule Howard's kidney transplant. A special thank you to all of our Red Square Family.

A long 1/8" Allen Wrench and come at it from under the tower. straight in from under the horse. Like the Allen wrench used with a Saws-all, with the handle on one end. The dog point goes into the doughnut...gently tighten till shifter doesn't move, and then back out 1/4 to 1/2 turn...then with Allen wrench still in place, tighten lock nut. No need to remove any tires.

Our steam show ENCOURAGES golf carts and ATV's all of these people with more money than brains riding jacked up and hot rodded golf carts around. Most of them cant see and their bellies interfere with the steering wheel. That's one reason I have 2 tractors with air horns.

Thanks for the part number and I appreciate the help with the CL ad, as soon as @pullstart mentioned it I realized that it made perfect sense to not allow it, I just didn’t think about that side of it.

We've got rain forecast for all week from tomorrow, so I thought I'd better get cracking and get that wall painted. First coat went on this morning. After lunch decided to do some mowing before the grass shoots up with the rain. Lawn, green and verges. With the mowing finished I then put the second coat on the wall. Looks ok even if I do say mesel'. I'd just sat down on the decking with a cold drink, when neighbours son asked if I could go round with a tractor and trailer to haul away some reeds. He's been de-reeding the pond by his mothers next door. Got that done and now that's my lot for the day. Dinner and after a well deserved bevy.

Don't know about that Henry we have gotten them for as low as $50 USD but seen them as high as $300.00 USD. 43-255 Euros Some guys must think they are gold plated. Generally the value is determined by the straightness of the back. Most folks didn't know it, myself included till recently, that they were designed to trip the tub then back up to dump with the back edge digging in. Problem is the rear was not strong enough so we don't advise this practice any more. For your convenience... Trailer Cart 1964-67 5.5 Cu Ft LTD-244 OM IPL _107.pdf

Thank you for your reply Jim...(and those with the thumbs up !...) Yes, we dont see them that often here, all is a bit hard to come by...and if "something" does show up...the price is just a lot higher then it would be in the USA. Almost makes u want to fill a container and bring it across the pond hi. Sometimes you get lucky though...for my "dump cart"...the owner didn't know this was a wheel horse attachment...and wheel horse is a valued brand by many over here. It isnt in a bad shape either, its first going to the attic ...its soaked in gun oil now... and maybe one day for restoration...though i do like it the way it is already... it is showing "age"..but still more then functional. Lol..Its my 1st day of the holiday...so a good start ! ...my wife and kids looked at me with the "yes..sure ...another ? face'. hihi. Thanks again !

I believe the play in the throttle shaft is excessive, but I am far from an expert. I did remove the choke shaft to put in the china carb. If you want it, it's yours. Message me your address, and I will send it out post haste. I may send one or two more. Do you have any use for the style 30? I also have those. Personally, I have no problem with running the china carbs.I have several of them on. All my motors seem to start and run just fine. The bore on the motor side of the Kohler carb is 1.1966. The china carb, 1.1666. To me, that is negligible, and not a cause for concern, but remember, I'm no expert. I replaced the carb, coil, and condenser. The motor will now run without choke, and seems to idle OK. It's still a bit rough, which make me suspect the valves. I don't know any way to properly check them, besides pulling the head. That will have to happen at a later date. A leak down test may tell me something, but I prefer to see with my own eyes. The coil only gets warm to the touch, I suppose from radiated heat from the motor, after running 20 minutes. Shut it off when hot, and it will restart instantly. Now the tractor will go to storage until I am ready to tackle it. Right now I have a Kohler MV 16 to focus on.

We got the Military Tribute Tractor home yesterday and unloaded it. It was running a little smoother but it still needs a carb rebuild. Need to diagnose and wire up the charging system, more solidly modify the belt guard, change the throttle cable then put some running time on it to work out whatever bugs it has. Tractor runs like a little beast and Trina is looking forward to using it as a worker.

You need an internally resisted coil. Ex. Napa IC14. Do not use one with no resistor. Keep the Rotella.
  43. 3 points
Rotella 30W is very good oil. Disregard the diesel label. It's one of the last brands that still offer straight weight oil. The hot coil issue... Any chance it's a replacement? Most newer ones don't have the internal resistor. No resistor will definitely burn your points up faster. Or the coil could be going bad, and the resistance in it is getting high. There is a way to check them on a multimeter. Either someone will chime in here or you can Google it.

Thanks for the info, I thought that 100-175 was a fair price because of its condition. The electric start, that’s the one with the starter generator “Genny” right?
  47. 2 points
That’s okay, the heads look better after I just did that little procedure you described. The heads are a little darker but the carbon is only is a few spots the diameter of a paper clip or so. Nothing to worry about I think.
  48. 2 points
Me thinks Dan or one of the girls peed in it.... There was a sign there that said the saw is usually run by a 327 Chevy motor or whatever power plant was suitable. The drive shaft made it somewhat flexible as to what can run it.

hey, Wheelhorses will be worth something, someday!

I used the same pump and made a bracket that had a dogleg so the belt would be away from the PTO hoop.
