Near as I can figure all we've got left at this point is wheels, engine, transmission. She's likely to begin assembly in the next couple days.

So many of you know that I picked up a couple of tractors and some implements that had been sitting in weeds for many years. What you may not know is that for last 4 days I have been in the hospitol. I was bitten by a dog at work and 2 days later I was so sick that I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Sepsis is a blood infection sometimes fatal. I had a 104.3 fever an extremely low blood pressure. Apparently when you don't have a spleen and suffer a dog bite it's a pretty big deal. Soooo.... after being released from hospital today my friend came over and we installed the carb that had been soaking since before I went in. Couple of pulls and it fired right up. So after a little adjusting I sat on the seat, put in 1st gear and yesssss ... it moved. Since the tires are falling off the rims I couldn't drive it but I did put it in each gear and they all worked. Even though it isn't the original engine it is a correct one. Tecumseh H60. I have tires for the rear, I ordered a pair with tubes for the fronts. I am really excited about this one. It cleaned up good. Needs more detailing and needs a seat. Also the usual oil change, fuel line, air cleaner... etc. More to come. NEVER TAKE YOUR HEALTH FOR GRANTED !!!! I am doing well. Being pumped full of antibiotics. Here are some photos of the 500 Special.

Seafoam is another good product to help loosen rings and carbon on an engine that’s been sitting. Before tearing down this old cub loboy I used it in the crankcase as well as the spray for the intake. It still needed to be rebuilt but it did run better.

Went to a friend's house to change a altenator on his car for him and forgot some of my tools, so picked this up. Not a bad set to keep in the truck.

The bite happened at work. I had about 10 large dogs out in a group. 2 got into a little tiff and before you knew it about half of them were going at it. I reached in to pull 2 apart and honestly not even sure what one bit me. As I was dragging one away I seen the dog had blood all over him. It was my blood. The dogs were all fine. I was bit on the thumb. Didn't seem to bad. Since I am on blood thinners I assumed that to be the reason for all the blood. I cleaned and dressed it and back out to watch the group for the rest of the day. That was Friday. Sat. I pulled the carb on the 500, and spent few hours washing and scrubbing the rest of it. Had thumb bandaged and wore a rubber glove as I did it all. Thumb was sore. Skin punctured and bruising around cut and under the nail. Felt like I whacked it with a hammer. Sunday morning I felt fine. On my way to work I felt a little cold. When I got to work I was trembling uncontrollably. Rushed to ER in ambulance. 104 plus fever blood pressure 72 over 50. Happened soooo fast. The bite isn't that bad. It's the fact that I don't have a spleen to fight the infection. Lost my spleen during my cancer fight 2 years ago. 4 days of pumping antibiotics into an IV in my neck. IV in each arm for getting my blood pressure and temperature back to normal. I was in bad shape. I had sepsis, that's is an infection in your blood. Pretty serious. 4 days of pumping antibiotics in me and finally getting my temp and BP normal they sent me home to work on my Wheel Horses !! I have to take an oral antibiotic for next 10 days. Also have to soak the thumb in some special soap couple times a day. Feel good. Never knew how serious a dog bite can be when you don't have a spleen. Now I sure do !!!

Right click and "Google Image Search" I used to moderate a very popular board... not mentioning names... and this stuff sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Like a thorn in my side.

Finally...after having 10 trees cut down(too many leaves, pollen, sticks, acorns) in my yard in mid May, I finally finished the detailed clean up. Grass coming back pretty decent where it looked like Patton's army came through... Washed my wheel barrow, rake, shovel, and pitch fork to go back in the building...

[edit: PS, thanks Steve for deleting the spammer! Message below out of context now though, but that's OK! Just so's all y'all know that there WAS a spam message just ahead of this one] "Here comes the SPAM again, falling on my head like a memory, falling on my head like a new emotion..." Just happened to find Red Square while on a road trip with hubby and had to sign right up to tell us this... yeah, right... and I guess that it should come as no surprise that the video "INCLUDES PAID PROMOTION", eh? I know that's not really her (and it's not likely even a 'her' that joined us) but that IS a pretty girl! "Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Girl..." So in keeping with the thread title, I'm listening to Annie and Mick in my head... Mine is "Twiggy" OH! look at this! I found the source of my 'dream girl's' photo avatar! (might not want to click on it, you'll probably start getting advertising for Sardinian Brides, but trust me, it's the same photo) https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/sardinian_people/sardinian-women-t104-s620.html

Feeler gauge the last photo .003-.020 adjustments to the aforementioned gap is done via the white paper shims. I personally like to get all my rebuilds around .010-.012. If you didn’t check this I recommend you do. The pan will need to be removed. Chances are you will also need a new pan gasket. If are aren’t within the .003-.020 tolerance you will need to pull the bearing plate and correct the situation. The black gasket is used closest to the block. *** note*** The magnum bearing plate is torqued to 115 inch pounds whereas the the k plate is 35 foot pounds All the best.

Naw that's just geography. We get it to you somehow, Kev @pullstart is quite the traveler ya know! Yes 867 is a shorty so fit right up. I shoulda got it when offered but I already have a lady in waiting I ever get around to finish it.

Since it was so full, you may want to pull the valve cover and clean the breather. It’s most likely soaked.

Good to hear positive opinions. I am going to test her out as nothing is real till you have your hands on it. All goes well it will replace my 416-H. If I come home with her I'll post a pic.

Load #2 put up too. Just need to strap down... Couple nut roasters in the Uncle Jim... along with Senior and Lever Steer. Jada’s square hood for night cruise lights...

OK. So. Been thinking if ways to mount a petrol hedge trimmer on the C-125 so I can sickle cut grass and weeds by the path edge. Needed something that was height adjustable and that keeps the cutter bar horizontal. Came up with an arm which swings up and down but maintains the orientation of the end fixture. Made a model of it to test the theory and manufacture method. Then made the mounting bracket to fit to the plow frame for extra versatility. Its only part done but I think it will be ok. I made it swivel on a slew ring so I can stow it for road travel. The arm on the photos is the model just so I could see what it would work like. I will make up the real one and then work out how to attach the powered trimmer to it. Mick

Been restoring the 1964 Eddleman mower I got last year. Have the base cleaned up and painted. Had to cut the rusted pulleys off Ordered some Tuesday form Zoro were on the front porch this morning. Could not get the rusted on tires off the split rims with out cutting them. Got the rusted rims repaired just need to get them painted. When I get the mower back together I'll give the 8 HP Biggs a try to see if it's any good.

You better not wait, it appears that the horse is having serious intestinal problems judging by the green and yellow droppings.

Really Jeff, you got nothin' better to do? But seriously, I'm glad you did. That photo and video looked suspicious right away, so I checked out "her" profile and saw "her" favorite model, but I had no idea where to go from there. Great detective work! Has anybody reported our new member to the mods yet?

Just mowed these last few weeks with the 414-8 Horse. I had Triumph costs take away from the Wheel Horse maintenance fund. I should be able to get back on the maintenance for Horses in a few weeks. I’ll need to do a 25 hour service at that point too.

I finally got rid of mine. It was up for 5 years. I put down plastic on the ground, pallets on top of the plastic, plywood on top of the pallets. I put an exhaust fan in that ran 24/7. When I finally cleared it out in 2020, 90% of anything paper or cardboard was ruined. Everything that has ever come in contact with human sweat became moldy. Anything that was unprotected steel or iron rusted. Mice made it their home shredding anything cloth to make nests. What I'm saying is, if you are anywhere that climate changes like here in Maryland, you will find that it actually rains inside due to humidity and temperature change. I wish I would have known that when I put it up. However, anything in bins with lids was okay. Some things were covered with tarps and they survived. Would I do it again? No. Would I use it temporarily until a more secure building was erected? No. I gave one I had to my grandsons to store their go-karts over the winter and the mice loved it. I hate to be a Debby Downer, but it was not a pleasant experience dealing with the mice, the rotting paper and cardboard and the black mold 5 years later.

Inside of 100 miles to the show! It’s not very often you have to wait for a Jeep Cherokee in the diesel lane!

I am going to be honest. No matter what you do with that tent, you are, sooner or later, going to have issues with critters. Racoons, mice, birds, groundhogs, etc ...are going to love the nice place you have for them to spend the winter. Storing stuff is one thing, but trying to make that a work space...not going to happen. My advise...build a shed that has a concrete floor and 3 foot footings. No water problems and no critter problems. It will last 70 years more then that tent.

Yes, I noticed that. I was probably super tired and space that last evening. I will flip that reg around tomorrow.

I believe the drawbar hitch can easily handle the 140 lbs provided you insert a plate under the front end of the hitch to spread the load on the bottom of the differential.
  32. 2 points
FWIW, I have stood on the clevis sleeve hitch and had the tractor lift me. I'm over 140 lbs, for sure . But I suspect you are referring to the drawbar hitch with a ball mounted in the hole. I have looked around but never found a WH recommended tongue load limit for the drawbar or its rear attachment point on the transaxle housing--only the total trailer weight of, if I recall, 275 lbs. (mainly related to being braking safety, I believe). Adding a built-for-towing rear receiver might make sense for you. Wheel Horse Parts and More, one of the vendors on this site, sells several models and there are other sources as well. Many owners build their own.

Come to think of it Tom @Shynon had one on the 867 he sold to me. Didn't go with the tractor but could have if I'd ponied up. He might still have it I'll ask him later today. He's at the Portage show with us.

Well Men and Ladies of Redsquare.... I gotta bow my head in shame and admit I goofed.... I'm not saying that the motor is completely smoke free and runs like new... --BUT-- I had in my head that these large oil pan Kohlers (K and Mag) held 3 qts of oil... so.... I poured 3 qts in and didn't even look at dipstick---I find these screw in old school dipsticks to be hard to read especially with clean fresh oil. So---I beat the stuffing out of the old girl and thought I accomplished something because it nearly stopped smoking but the oil was still at full on dipstick after the run--- when in reality all I did was burn the qt extra with the motor going W.T.H you dope the whole time... Please don't revoke my semi-pro Kohler service badge or my WHCC card Tony

The 414 Haban was made specifically for Wheel Horse tractor application. I had one one summer on a B-100 8 speed. Worked very nice. I would say much better than the Wheel Horse sickles Bob. The unit was made for Wheel Horse and no fabrication needed by me. I did change a pulley or two and new belts. I liked the Haban cutter bar much better than the Wheel Horse version. Just a stronger knife blade setup. I sold mine to DJ Harrison. He sold to a guy in South Dakota! There was a bargain at the Wheel Horse Big Show this year! I walked around this thing three times wanting to buy but no way to haul! Had an original guard on it too. Tractor and Haban $800! Haban was worth $800 in my opinion. There is also another rare sickle that was made for Wheel Horse, the Didier which has hydraulics on it . I have only seen two or three of these . see pics at. A good 42 inch Wheel Horse sickle mower on a 854 tractor will do the job ok and and no fabricating needed! Those Wheel Horse sickles are still hiding in barns in northern Indiana. A friend just traded a Farmall full size tractor for an 854 with a Wheel Horse sickle with an extra knife blade in Plymouth. I am still working on rebuilding a 42 inch one for a friend. There has to be almost five hundred parts in a Wheel Horse sickle!

Well heck, I better get updating then eh? Heres a few pics showing head work in rough in stage- they were angle milled .045 to retain some chamber size for flow and get the squish where I wanted it above the piston, then unshrouded a bit. Compression ratio 8:1 instead of in the 6s. Intake was split and ported, and made an adapter to run a Kohler command 25hp carb which is much larger, and has an accelerator pump. Some small mods to the pump circuit has it working awesome! Made my first attempt at a 2:1 pipe and collector, and it came out great. ( I also built a shorty muffler for it, more on that later.) Ignition timing was bumped up 2 degrees as well. The engine is in the machine and has been flawless! The power and throttle response are incredible- much more of both than ever expected! Stay tuned and I'll put up a video.

I'll see your thundering herd of round hoods Kev and raise you a Super C, a pair of '67 square hoods and a 753 with a Brinly thrown in for good luck.... Your most likely gonna beat me with a pair of seniors but load # 1 is gonna have an RJ, The Flame, a 1055 and a 1045. What the heck a guy has to have a ride around! Frank needs a bath I got an outdoor spray gun so the 1067 needs a bath too. We'll shower them together ....maybe they will reproduce!
