13 pointsI didn’t do a build thread on this project but have been working on it for a year or more. Just finished it up last week. Top 2 pics are the day I brought it home.

8 pointsEspecially if you like it, to ride a little quicker. Today in the Morning when i was on the Way to the Company, in a sharp left curved road my rear right Tyre blasts. I instinctively steered again to get back the controll while the car nearly drifts sideways. Shift down and full Throttle to keep the car return in line on the road, but the after hard Full brake it begin to swing again and slide left into a Cornfield. Speed at the beginning was something about 90, so not too fast - i believe. Thanks to my quick reaction and a huge portion of Luck i was able to catch the Car back and set it more less „gently“ into an Field aside without hurt much. At least i was able to drive myself out of the Field and ride to a Tyre Service Station in step speed. After that i contacted the owner of the corn Field, he just said : “ hey Man, you be the the first who feels responsible, so in respect to that forget about it.“ After a pressurewash later and a full complete Check, we need just 2 new Tyres - that‘s all. No damages on the Axles or the Steering system at all. So my advice - please check regularly your Car or Trucktyres to prevent such an issue. It ain‘t funny at all.

5 pointsDig Dug had a good workout this afternoon till dark! Graded and put down a little extra gravel in the mouth of Dads driveway, then did a quick scrape down of some winter humps in mine.(try to convince folks always run on top of the humps to squish em back down, but people are such critters of habit, once the find a line they like they stick to it) Awful nice to have dreaded back breaking labor turned into fun tinkerin!

4 pointsSix months ago I didn't know the difference between magneto and battery ignition. Now I know just enough to worry about things. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I was really surprised when it started up, as there is no fuel line connected to it yet. Must have been enough left in the carb.

3 pointsHere you go. I started with a method my dad taught me on our farm when I was a kid. First I soak in PB Blaster or something for an hour or so. Then, I take a thin center punch and make a divot on the outer edge of the bolt where it's sheered off. Then I use an awl or an old ice pick to tap it in around and often this will eventually get it out. It is only after I tried all that that I use extractors. In this set I used the no. 1 size and although it has a drill end I used a 1/16 bit to pilot a center punched hole before I used the drill end. After that I just put it in an impact driver and went slow. I hope your hub screw is as simple to extract as was mine. Best of luck. Bill

3 pointsMany people consider “Insurance” an unnecessary expense, but I’ve found over the years the best way to ensure reliability of any item, (other than regular maintenance) is to have a “spare” on the shelf. Also depending upon the item in question, it’s value may have actually increased when it’s finally moved on to a new home/shelf.

3 pointsFound my PTO clutch problem today while I was cleaning up the bell. I saw that one ear was missing on the outside C clip that holds the stub shaft that the clutch hoop pushes on. On closer look, there was a bunch of end play in that stub shaft. The reason for that was the C clip was not seated in the retaining groove in the stub shaft. Its effect was that I lost about 1/8" of clutch engagement travel. That 'slpains a bunch! On the up side today, I discovered that the local hardware store that is my "if they don't have it, it does not exist" hardware store is also the local Toro dealer. They had a new clutch plate in stock. I bought one. After this evening's discovery, it will be put on the shelf as anti PTO clutch failure insurance. Back to the hardware store for the proper C clip tomorrow. For what it is worth, the clutch lining thickness on a new clutch plate assembly is .138".

2 pointsI should have known better. Trying to reinvent the wheel here and going cheap I bought this same pump since I needed to buy a couple more. The others I bought the regular American made Facett of which I use several already. Sure enough pump has too much pressure and overtakes float. All imported pumps I bought up to today did the same regardless of what specs said. As I start removing pump just pissed at myself the nipple comes out of pump. And that is with a 5/16” line which is what I use. I don’t even know if I should attempt to get a refund. I feel just like tossing it in the trash where it belongs.

2 pointsGot the bucket pivots replaced and those bolts worked perfectly! So now Im gonna replace the other pivots and add in washers wherever needed to remove a bit of wiggle in there.

2 pointsReminds me of how I used to use Silly Putty to copy newspaper comics when I was a kid. Didn’t ever see rubber transfer on to wood before. Pretty cool.
