14 pointsI posted some of these on Wheel Horse Junkies on Friday. The quality of the pictures here are soooo much better without the Facebook compression. I included my closeups that I took for doing my rebuild of my RJ so that someone else might appreciate some of the details others put in to their horses.

12 pointsWell we were able to put together an interesting group at the big show on Friday. @Lane Ranger, Chris Frock , Josh Aungst, and myself got our tractors together for some pictures with our extremely uncommon CBR-327 front mount sickle bar mowers. It was very cool to get 4 of these together in one place considering how uncommon they are. Thank you guys for bringing them along. For those of you that may not know, these sickle bars were made/sold in 1961 and early 1962 based off of paperwork I have found. They were similar to the prior CBR-32 sickle bars used on rj/suburban tractors but used a floating chain drive system and different hitch to be mounted on the front engine round hood tractors. I know of around 8 to exist personally. I’m sure there are more but still very uncommon.

12 pointsWell folks, another big show in the books, and I’m already looking forward to next year! I had such a blast seeing old friends, and making new ones! Each year it seems like I meet a few more people and am able to strike up new friendships. Even without the home made pie and hot water for showers, it was such a fantastic time! My only regret is not having more time to spend with folks. (And by the way, I did hit the Giant Grocery and got some shoo fly pie, hehehe) This was about my 7th big show, and looking back, its funny how my perspective of the show has changed. At the the first show I went to back in 2014, I arrived thinking it was all about the tractors, and when I left, I was thinking it was more about the people. Now I KNOW its about the people. Great seeing everyone! Hope to see you again soon!

12 pointsGreetings Red Square community, I am new to all things "Red". I was born and raised about 30 feet above sea level in eastern N.C. on a small farm. Our main tractor was an Oliver Super 55 and it was "abuse-proof". We never had need of anything like a WH. With Farmall Cubs and 8n's a plenty all of our tractor needs were met. For the last 15 years I have been living in Mechanicsville, VA where I pastor a small church. I'm married with two children, one of whom just graduated high school two weeks ago. My wife is my favorite person with whom to hang out and we have recently begun to garden again. I am a hobbiest blacksmith and I have been known to wet a hook frequently. In the past couple of years that we've been growing veggies, in our reasonably sized back yard (about 125 feet square), we've agreed that a garden tractor would easier on our aging bodies than a tiller. I have for years hoped to acquire a Wheel Horse some day. My real desire was for a 3-point model but figured the clevis hydro would suffice. We recently decided it was time to get serious about finding a garden tractor. So I just purchased a C-175. It is in pretty good shape for a 30+ year old machine with unknown hours. But there are a few issues I will need help figuring out. Of course this is how I came to join your group. I am grateful for being accepted in and hope that, in some small way, I may be able to contribute as I benefit from the knowledge and experience found in this community. Blessings, Bill

6 pointsInto the field this morning about 10. Got three loads before lunch and one after and it nearly killed me. Didn't help with everything being piled up. Bit of a fight getting to the good stuff. What's that saying? Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun. 72F. I should know better at my age. Four loads like the one below. The box on the back of the Sears is just the right size for chainsaw etc. The wood did fight back a bit. If I'm not asked to go to the farm tomorrow, I'll get some more.

6 pointsWorking on getting some stuff hooked up starting with the lights. They are 4 inch LEDS with running orange lights or the orange lights can be a flashing hazard light. Thinking pretty cool. Might need to install these in the back of my 314-8 for reverse lights with hazards for snowblowing.

6 pointsWOW !! Thanks for the great photos again this year Mrs. Rules. You did an amazing job, just like you did last year. Thank you for sharing. You're the best.

6 pointsLinda it was really great to see you and Craig at the 23rd Annual Wheel Horse Show ! You with your picture taking ability and Jo managing the flow of the many tractors were a GREAT HELP with the parade ....... and Craig too as he did bring me a bottle of much needed water. ,The parade and show were unbelievable as we broke the record for the longest tractor parade ever at the show , a total of 3 hours long !!! And I ended up drinking 5 bottles of water just to stay hydrated ! As I told many of you who were at the show ....... I was just not sure how many people would attend due to the state of the world but as I turned into the South Mountain Fairgrounds on Thursday morning and saw 5 full lanes of vehicles loaded down with Wheel Horses I knew America was not going to give up our fun ! I do apologize about the "no music" Cruise Night ...... this was my fault as I left the CD at home . It amazed me though that everybody went cruising any way after the ice cream social and had loads of fun. I had to get my timing right to pull into the lines of Wheel Horses during the cruise so my son Kaeden on his very first Wheel Horse and I could cruise side by side together ! Every year the Wheel Horse tractors that show up are amazing and this year was no exception , several D series tractors with loader buckets showed up and how about the D-250 with the factory ROP (roll over protection i.e.a roll bar) .? Eston and his miniature Wheel Horse tractor models almost stopped me from being able to talk ..... except to say I WANT ONE ! A lot of buyers wanted a special manufacturing number on the box for the ones they purchased ..... me I had Eston autograph mine to me ! It was fun trying to talk Eston and Kelly into putting of their tiny Senior models in the parade and she did it ! And as you always hear say " only at the Wheel Horse Show" ! Wild Bill in VA.

5 pointsI didn't get a whole lot but the ones have a story! The thing about the BS is after you been a few times you know a lot of members there and great to meet some new ones. Don't know why there was no RS group picture? Too busy with the show I guess. Weather.... just perfect! Had a nice Senior parade ... Mrs P., Pullstart & Stevebo... Buckrancher & Rules were in it too but they peeled off for I could snap.... Nice line up of 701's with a front bar... Lane Ranger on the far left, not sure who the other fellas were. School marm Bob Hunter and his boy. After all these years of eyeballing we finally got a putt! I suggested some ape hangers but probably not a good idea cause of the steering geometry D Dan and Cindy getting the pulled pork and Dan's smoked mac n cheese ready. Both to die for and a real story behind the mac ... more on that when I get some pics from Mrs P. Some grass skiing ...even had Mrs Rule & Lane on them! Hey 'Fish we did have the chain for some piling but never did get to it. Too busy throwing bags with Vinyl Guy & son. Cindy with Wild Bill at the parade. Her tractor sure did get a lot of looks and complements. About a half hour on the Penn Turnpike on the way back had a blow out so we had to play pit crew. Sad part is all the wiring for the fuel station control & pump were completely ripped out. Some other damage but repairable & Pullstart just reminded me we have insurance!

5 pointsExcellent thank you. I ordered two seals and 4 set screws from Wheel Horse Stables. I figure I will drill and tap the hubs for the extra set screw. I drill and tap regularly in my blacksmithing so if it turns out to be standard 3/8" x 16tpi I'm already set up. Bill

5 pointsThis is the story as I recall. Dan was doctoring up the Mac to finish smoking it for a few minutes. We had all gathered with our chairs and my rocking chair was kind of plugging the walkway. Here’s another reason to be equipped with wheelchairs! Mrs. P told me to scooch back and Dan promptly responded as he walked by, “I’m gooo!” As he was going down! A bit of the Mac was spilled, but Uncle Jim insists on not wasting food... so out comes the shovel and my boot. Shorts and Boots! Cindaaaaaaaay! told Uncle Jim that’s the poop scoopin’ shovel, but he insisted it was not. Into the Mac goes his face... then over comes a fork, then they somehow convinced me to have a taste too. Pretty Alright Mac! The clovers from the ground became extra salad and finally Cindaaaaay! convinced Uncle Jim that it really was a poop scooper... then the game was over. Nobody died or was hurt too badly other than feelings in the making of this story. Everyone went home too full and if they didn’t it wasn’t for the lack of food! Thanks again Jim, Cindy and Dan, for all of your “Midwest Nice” hospitality!

5 pointsUh ... oh yeah .... about the my white tractor pullin' shirt , wanting to donate some thing to the raffle prizes at the Wheel Horse Show I just could not figure out what to give. Getting clothes packed at my house before the show that white shirt has always come to Annual Wheel Horse Show and many other tractor shows and pulls around the country. It just gets packed to take along ! During Saturdays part of the show I thought about that white shirt and what it meant to me and it meant a lot. Its part of my signature , and I have a hard time letting go of things but if that shirt meant so much to me maybe just maybe it would mean something to some one else. Many years ago when there was just the Yahoo Wheel Horse page on the internet I made a bet that if the readers brought 600 Wheel Horses to the show that I would pull one of my Wheel Horse tractors with a chain the length of the parade route ! Welllllll there was way over 600 Wheel Horses that year and at the end of the parade I took a dirty chain draped it over my shoulder and pulled one of my Wheel Horses through the parade ! Now keep in mind that many were expecting me to pull a big D or C series but ole Wild Bill ain't dumb , I pulled my 1967 Lawn Ranger with the smallest and cutest little red haired girl holding the steering wheel. When that shirt was made you had to go to a special place to get embroidery work done not like today where you get clothes embroidered on line and shipped to your house. Now I am not sure what is going to happen with that white shirt BUT there was a group who not say any thing about it when I inquired about it ........ folks sumtin's gonna happen next year at the 24th Annual Wheel Horse Show !!!! Wild Bill in VA

5 pointsSo the best thing about any show is bringing home a new to me. Rules was crazy enough (or stupid) to let me have this for a song & a prayer & a pork sammy. Send me them belts dude I can't wait to futz with it! Looks like Achto inherits the flyin freakin A-81. Me thinks he is gonna turn it into a rear engine dragster

4 pointsDozer blade for my GT-14, another blade I got cheap because it's bent, 50 inch sickle bar that @wheelhorseman is making me missing parts for it, mid mount grader blade from @wheelhorseman, rear class III hitch from @wheelhorseman, reproduction foot control from @stevebo, complete 1973 16 automatic with replacement K241S, GT-14 parts tractor, lots of tire chains, and a GT-14 FEL from @fast88pu I also joined the WHCC
-
4 pointsThank you! This was my first show and I regret not staying over and bringing my drone for some overhead shots. Next year!

4 pointsThat was so cool to be able to drive @pullstarts lever steer . I can check that off my bucket list lol. Kevin let me pull start it too. I was impressed how easy it fired up. One pull! That Wisconsin motor runs great.

4 pointsIt is a sintered bronze bearing impregnated with oil, so it is pretty much self lubricating. A drop of oil every now and then won't hurt though.

3 pointsI like @squonk's primer/rat idea, except I vote for flat black with gray primer flames. Maybe a red pin stripe outlining the gray flames.
-
3 pointsThat's what clued me in that it might be too tight! Usually have to press down pretty far. Yours is an 8 speed I believe? On the AUTO models, when you press the brake it returns the motion control to NEUTRAL so the brake is sorta redundant, but I've gotten in the habit of hitting the PB if I leave the machine running and exit the seat for any reason. Too easy for a 'run away' horse if I bump the lever when leaving the seat! By the way, when you 'quote' a message, if you enter your reply text in the space BELOW the quote box, it separates it from the quote.

3 pointsWhat's for dinner Grandpa ?? Pooper Scoop Smoky Mac & Cheese for dinner and Genuine Cow Pie for dessert. Yum Yum!! This stuff tastes like __it !

3 pointsNot sure what to tell you about the end play. Not sure how much my machine has, been a while since I've had it off the ground. You should have square head bolts on BOTH hubs. The early hubs had only ONE set screw, in later years they went to TWO set screws spaced 90° apart due to the fact that hubs were loosening and causing damage. If your hubs are still good and not 'wallowed out' (along with hopefully NOT the axle and keyway), and you have the equipment, you can drill and tap a second set screw hole yourself, or have a machine shop do so for you. It appears that you do need a new axle seal, relatively easy to replace once the hub is off. Slip the new seal in place and use the hub as a 'slide hammer' to drive it home. When re-installing the hubs, it is important to understand that you can NOT get that set screw tight enough with a hand wrench! You MUST use an 8 point socket wrench and torque it to 30 lb ft before locking down with the jam nut. And, ALWAYS use NEW SET SCREWS!

3 pointsFor most shows since 2010, I've set up right in front of the teeter-totter. Several times I feared for my life as a youngster came off sideways and veered in my direction. I for one did not miss it...but I did miss the shoefly pie.

3 pointsJada and Rylee were given some pendants from @Wheel Horse 3D, and I love the reactions of people when they jump on a “new” piece of equipment! I don’t even know this guy’s name, but I don’t believe he has ever been on a Wheel Horse, let alone a Pond! here’s @BHunter taking a stroll as well
-
3 pointsJada is Poop Stain Rylee is Booger Wipe James was Snot Bubble growing up just proof that parents love their kids, no matter how they show it! James, great to meet you and chit chat as well throughout the show! Too bad we only get to hang out once a year in person... good news is we can hang out on the RedSquare whenever we want That thing was flawless during the whole trip. We planned to get around 6 mpg but were quite surprised when we calculated a rock solid number of 8.425! Last night, we wished my little brother in law who at 11 am today will be sworn into the United States Marine Corp. as Private E1 Blaze Sensiba a great trip to boot camp, his grand parents from the other side gave me a 454 powered motor home. It’s been sitting long enough that a tree or ivy of some type is growing inside it... but it has a low mileage crate engine and was parked for water damage reasons. It’ll be a long shot rescue, but I feel like a good afternoon trip will get it running and another day planned to bring it home will be worth having spare BBC stuff!
