An easy and nearly free mod to “fix” a flat gas hold up rod. I just pick the seat up, and the PVC tube falls over & holds the seat up. When I’m done gassing up, just tap the tube over, the fat part of the rod slides inside the tube & the seat falls down. It has lasted for years, and I think I actually like it better than a working gas rod.

Still prepping Dug..got the wheel weight hubcaps done, but made a mis calculation in the depth or diameter Either way it came out even better with teeth that adjust for tightness and depth.and the cap sits INSIDE the weight. The plastic provides the spring. Went ahead and painted the front bearing caps red too. Ill put those on once they dry.

Well I normally would just go with factory WH colors but I been wanting to hi- light the scheme just a bit as Retired Wrencher said. Wheels something different than stock or adding some other color to the red, or take away a color or something to that degree. I probably wouldn’t want to go a whole complete different color but then again if it was a cool color I might. Lol Something like I did to the wheels on my 175. I really like the look of it. Even thought about using that chrome red on a tractor.

I changed the oil and flushed the system in the FEL before it’s Big Show departure. I can’t believe it’ll be leaving to another member... and my new FEL isn’t complete!

Air con refilled on the new car, that's all that was wrong with it. Cost £60 to have it done. New wipers front and rear and I repaired the remote locking key by soldering two new micro switches in. Its a great car and I'm so happy with it as a runabout.

In my opinion it is your tractor and your money so I have no right to tell you what color(s) you can paint it. I have been known to deviate from the factory correct color scheme and probably will again.

My ol' 1929 Maytag engine, and it's mate, a 1926 washer. Both were iron pile rescues. People at the fair love to see it in operation.. My old Iron Dog, a 1968 Arctic Cat Panther, which has an original 12hp K series for power. Dont really have any good photos of my other early stuff on hand.

The serial number tag, and the key chain are on the C-125A. That means it's officially done. I believe the tractor is VERY sound mechanically. As with all my tractors there are places where the paint could be better, but then there are a lot of places where it could be worse. I did some re-paint after the gas can fiasco, I think it turned out OK. I got the "creep" adjusted out of the trans, so it's fine now. The motor starts immediately, and sounds great. To me anyway. Now that it's done, it's time to move on to the 175.

I started a new thread on the C-175 Automatic. For some reason, I had the other one filled with 125 pics. Oh well. It's Tuesday June 15, 2021, and the 175 is in the garage. I have spent the last few weeks amassing parts. I hope I have everything I need. I know I will have to order new shoes. If it turns out nice, maybe some shiny new wheels. How do youI like my plywood seat pan? Might have to change that. The Briggs twin seems to run fine, so there won't be any motor work at this time. I'll strip everything down, and get the parts to the sandblaster.

Finally finished the wood/tractor shed project. I removed the old dog pen that was covered with misc. peices of metal roofing. I used this metal to cover the rotting T-111 siding on the 32 yo shed. Then added the new 12x14 shed extension.

I have Casper. To be honest, I'm not sure I like it as much as I thought I would. Some day,, it may go back to red. But ya gotta admit. He is kind-a cute.

Liberty and Zoeller pumps are good, Little Giants are better, plastic will not corrode. Grinders are most commonly used in sewage but can become clogged by plastic, hair and strings. When it comes to sewer pumps you have to know your $#it.

For me it's the way Elmer & Cecil did it or nothing. Maybe a variation or two in the Wheel Horse red, but that's it.

My Grandfather who was an influence in me getting the Wheelhorse and a massive part of my interest in mechanics and lawn tractors sadly passed away peacefully a couple of months ago at almost 90. He always had photos of all his grandchildren above his fireplace, and my mother gave me the photo he had of me- taken back when I was 14 in 2005 (earlier in the thread I said I was 15 when I got the Horse but I must have actually been 14). I should probably put up a couple of more recent pictures of me and the Horse, so here's some taken around February this year: The last gift he ever gave me were the chevron tyres in the photo. I'll certainly miss him, he was such a kind guy, but he's with my grandmother now who passed away in 2012. Hope the post isn't too morbid- I don't intend it to be, just my way of saying thanks, I'll always be grateful for all he did for me and taught me. Hope everyone reading is well!

Answers and solutions are surely difficult to come by. I'm not sure if things are worse or if it's more of an ebb and flow or if it's just a higher barrage of information that makes it seem worse. I made a post a bit ago about my frustration with The SKF oil seal I bought for the input shaft on my 1978 vintage 8 speed. It was made of tin foil and almost impossible to install with out deforming. No it was impossible. Here is the solution for those who care. Almost identical to the original.

Well you see. Trina and I are sorta like the black sheep of coloring Wheelhorses. My one strict rule isn't will NOT put a color on a Wheelhorse that was on another brand of tractor. We have my Cinnamon Horse C160. Her 657 Pony is red. A bright Poppy Red. Both engines are off white like the wheels. Colossus will be a few different shades of metallics along with a bright Red. Trina is in process of building a Military Tribute Tractor. Mostly 60s color OD Green.

I love the red tractors , but also love old tractors, and machines in general. What all do you guys have? I would love to see pics.

I’ve got a grinder lift pump in the basement and my son moved out a couple weeks ago . This is good reminder for me to fill up the tub , sinks , flush the toilet and let all the water flow into the crock and hopefully clean it out . Definitely don’t want the stuff sitting in there to sit if nobody’s using it daily. A month ago my cousin called and said his toilets weren’t flushing and sinks and tub are draining really slow . First thing I asked him was who’s been flushing the wet wipes . When they opened it up they pulled out wipes , feminine hygiene products and tooth floss sticks . Lucky for him the filter between the solid and liquid tanks did it’s job . Moral of the story is nothing goes down the drain but some food particles from rinsing plates , 💩 poop and toilet paper even if it says flushable.

I bought a 1959 RJ that had been in a semi trailer for twenty years after previous owner painted it Sunrise Red ( you will like this one Howard!) . Not sure why the two angle iron pieces were welded to the front frame but they were on there when I bought it. I pondered for a while about removing and why they were placed in front in the first place. The frame had no breaks and still not sure why they were added. I had three weights a machinist made years ago that were numbered 1,2 and three. I used them on my cultivator when weeding my gardens. Thee together weigh 54 lbs. When looking at the RJ I thought if a bar was placed in front I could hang two weights on it. So I finally got around to using angle grinder to cut an inch out of the top of each angle iron. I called my welder Russ and asked if he could weld a 1 1/2 inch x 9 inch bumper with a flag holder on the side opposite the hot muffler! I hauler the RJ by trailer to Russ’ welding shop snd left it overnight. He called me 9:30 am today and said come snd get it! I think it turned out pretty nice and after putting a new clutch spring on it and adjusting the clutching it works very well! No more wild horse bucking!

That truck looks great. Good score. Just think what your paint dept can do with that.

Here’s mine

Well, she's starting to look more like a lawn tractor. I do have many more brackets, etc. painted and ready to go than I have installed. I seemed to have gotten slowed down by the normal issues in rebuilds: I stumbled on a broken Clutch Rod Pivot (missing piece), an odd drilling of the steering shaft by the previous owner that had to be welded up, turned down on the lathe and re-drilled and a terrible "fix" of the battery box. I've ordered everything from a replacement Clutch Rod Pivot, new gas cap, shifter boot, steering linkage and seat cover. After trying to pull a 25 gal sprayer with my JD lawn tractor today, the little Lawn Ranger is getting a pair of Carlisle Super Lug tires on the rear. Many thanks to dclarke for the patient guidance. I also have had to "revise" my shop for this type of work: over the years, the shop slowly migrated towards woodworking. It started out as a metalworking shop (I retired from the metal stamping industry), but as I built furniture over the last 20 years...well, it just wasn't what I needed for this project. The little tractor will have to take a rest...I'm heading to GA and AL this week to do some botanical research (that's what I do in retirement). Will get back on it next week. Paul

Yes those out door stoves heat a lot we rent this place here it has fireplace and wood stove For saws i run a mix, Echo 590c Husky 450 but i love older Poulan the Made in America saws. have a Poulan 3400, or two actually and a 361. All my wood i get for free so makes it nice. and i love playing chainsaw

If you have ethanol laced fuel, never leave it exposed to the atmosphere because it will pull moisture out of the air. I use the EZ_POUR vents and spouts with good success by just keeping the cans out of the sun.
