I figured since my 520 was done it should have something a little nicer to get hauled around on, so in my spare time () I re-did our vintage Snowco utility/snowmobile/garden tractor trailer. We have owned this since the late 70's, purchased from the original owner. This thing has been used hard over the years, numerous wheel and tire changes, a couple winches, 2 axles, leaf springs, patches, you name it. This time it got re-done in the appropriate colors (originally seafoam green), new LED lights, new wheel and tires, new leaf spring, all new hardware, original fenders re-installed , etc.. This has hauled 100's of Horses in it's day, 1000's of other brands, and will continue to be used but it'll get stored inside from now on and not see daily use anymore. Dad always said it was the best $100 he ever spent.

The latest horrible news that hit closer to a lot of us since it affects someone well known and cared for by us all , should make all of us take pause and reflect on this type of sad event reported every single day sometimes more than once. Indeed to quote someone " what is wrong with us?" that this type of tragedy and waste of human life keeps happening and we seem to now treat it as regular news. What makes the mind of "supposedly" the most intelligent creature on earth have these thoughts and do terrible things that no other animal on the face of the earth does. And what also makes that mind unable to do anything about it? Is this a sign of faulty upbringing? The decline of decency and morality in our society? I think we all agree that this is terribly wrong and yet we squabble on the reasons or any inkling of a solution for a "cure" for this terrible disease. We listen to the news and just shake our heads in disbelief. That is until it starts hitting close to home which unfortunately then its too late . Does it have to be like the Holocaust that people will only believe it once the videos of atrocities are shown? Is that what it takes ? For it to happen to each one of us for then to be acted upon? It is with sadness but with conviction that I say my friends, that if this continues for much longer it may be the beginning of the end of this society, this way of life and even possibly of this "paradise" that we all flocked to at one time or another. We should all be outwardly outraged and embarrassed by these events to the point that we act. I hope that it does not get closer to home, but the odds seem to be against that. To the point that now it is constantly in our minds where ever we go just like a cancer we may have had. The fear of it never leaves our minds. Its another way of loosing a precious freedom that we don't think of, or complain of losing often. Peace of mind.

This is a comparison of a gt14 with loader and 3pt to my new mahindra Emax 22. The new one with out the backhoe is only about 1' longer. Wheel horse was on to something back then and had a good thing going to they got bought out. If wheel horse was still around I'm sure they would have new compact and sub compact tractors still

And with that I'm gonna call it done Scuffed it, buffed it, detailed it, and stickered it. I can honestly say that the purchase of the tractor and the ensuing restoration is what has led me back to spending time with Horses and to being a vendor here on Red Square. It all started with a different way home from work, this tractor sitting along the road with a for sale sign on it , and my dad telling me "I know where there's a bunch of NOS parts and hubcaps to fit that" and here we are.

I always thought it was just the ethanol in the fuel that hurt the motors that just bring water and drys the rubber it's the other stuff they put in there that really gums up the fuel in stuff that sits. For anything that's going to sit for time on end like over winter I buy that per made fuel and dump all the fuel out of what ever like the weed Wacker or hedge trimmer and pour some of the pre made expensive stuff and let it run a little then store it. Seems to be the best. But like my chainsaws I cut wood daily they just get what ever. 5 gallons of fuel mix doesn't last long for my saw. I know that pre made fuels expensive but I only put that in the rjs because they sit and least it keeps everything wet and that fuel lasts 3 years before it goes bad. My house back up generator has that in it only too. And the stuff smells like race fuel burning

Just purchased a Snowco trailer. I am going to pick it up next weekend. Its only one state away! All I have for now is these four pictures. I was hoping some of the folks on here could tell me which model I have? Or just any Snowco trailer info you have to share would be great. I look forward to getting it home and doing a restore on it.

Well you see. Trina and I are sorta like the black sheep of coloring Wheelhorses. My one strict rule isn't will NOT put a color on a Wheelhorse that was on another brand of tractor. We have my Cinnamon Horse C160. Her 657 Pony is red. A bright Poppy Red. Both engines are off white like the wheels. Colossus will be a few different shades of metallics along with a bright Red. Trina is in process of building a Military Tribute Tractor. Mostly 60s color OD Green.

Thanks for your Kind Words Fella‘s Kati gets much better today. As a result for the extreme quick Emergency Chain she have a good chance to recover to 100%. One of her Heartmuscles is still a little upset, but it appears actually it come 100% back to live.

I made up my mind. We’ll have two flat beds this year! tough too! This makes my ramps issue relieved... I just need to add ramp strips onto the farm truck.

It already had the ignition switch terminals,in it so I just had to rearranged them and sent them in new directions. Not as space shuttle as it may seem. Free wire......Recycling at it’s best.

It helps if you can keep the tanks full. Temperature change does not affect liquid volume as it does a gas.

I bought a 1959 RJ that had been in a semi trailer for twenty years after previous owner painted it Sunrise Red ( you will like this one Howard!) . Not sure why the two angle iron pieces were welded to the front frame but they were on there when I bought it. I pondered for a while about removing and why they were placed in front in the first place. The frame had no breaks and still not sure why they were added. I had three weights a machinist made years ago that were numbered 1,2 and three. I used them on my cultivator when weeding my gardens. Thee together weigh 54 lbs. When looking at the RJ I thought if a bar was placed in front I could hang two weights on it. So I finally got around to using angle grinder to cut an inch out of the top of each angle iron. I called my welder Russ and asked if he could weld a 1 1/2 inch x 9 inch bumper with a flag holder on the side opposite the hot muffler! I hauler the RJ by trailer to Russ’ welding shop snd left it overnight. He called me 9:30 am today and said come snd get it! I think it turned out pretty nice and after putting a new clutch spring on it and adjusting the clutching it works very well! No more wild horse bucking!

The serial number tag, and the key chain are on the C-125A. That means it's officially done. I believe the tractor is VERY sound mechanically. As with all my tractors there are places where the paint could be better, but then there are a lot of places where it could be worse. I did some re-paint after the gas can fiasco, I think it turned out OK. I got the "creep" adjusted out of the trans, so it's fine now. The motor starts immediately, and sounds great. To me anyway. Now that it's done, it's time to move on to the 175.

I made a post a bit ago about my frustration with The SKF oil seal I bought for the input shaft on my 1978 vintage 8 speed. It was made of tin foil and almost impossible to install with out deforming. No it was impossible. Here is the solution for those who care. Almost identical to the original.

I use the VP 94 octane. It smells like Cam2 when it burns!

Broke my I'm to cheap to buy a nice set multi use snap ring tool trying to get the front rim snap clip off what's left of the C-125 so now I have the nice snap ring tool set. Has a lifetime warranty so not only are they snap ring pliers but also mini hammers

Nearly finished cleaning out the building on our new property. This will be my shop once the new house is finished. 970 sq feet, 5 rooms and 2 breezeways. It is surrounded by shrubs Front breezeway. Looking north Looking south. It started life as a garage but was converted to a house sometime in the late 60s. Going to install a door large enough for tractors and cars on the south wall - probably a roll up.

@d b son I have seen people just put a drive pulley on the flywheel, make a noch in it. Home made pull-starter.

No ethanol goes in any of our small engines. Good point for others to keep in mind. I use those same cans with the push button pour spout but even though we keep them out of direct sunlight they still balloon up. Not as much. But they still do it. We've gotten into the habit recently of leaving the poor spout cap just sitting on the can. That stops the expansion and contraction of the container itself but it's only going to be a matter of time before I forget that and dump gas out where I didn't really want it... You would know that happens because you'd be able to hear the colorful language all the way at your place.

Did some trailer work with No Name today. Moved the empty pontoon trailer into the summer parking spot, then got the Sears utility trailer to move the Jeep's summer shoes out of the shed, and move its winter boots back to the shed after changing them. Figured we are safe from snow now, and the anti-snow insurance is no longer needed. Blew the accumulated dust off of the carb, battery, and fuel line while the little portable compressor was out and charged as well. Current pet peeve - the plastic 3 gallon marine gas tank that came with the pontoon. In the sunshine, it heats up and turns into a sphere. When it cools off, it looks like an hour glass. I don't find this comforting, remembering the old Johnson and Evenrude metal tanks. Trying a new tactic with it this year. While the boat is parked, I have loosened the gas cap about 1/2 turn, just enough to vent it so it can 'breathe'. We will see how that works.

Decided to clean / organize / inventory my horse stable got alot of project and what not going on easier to stop and see what I have rather then loosing stuff or misplacing stuff and enging up with 1700ft of wire to wire 1 horse hahaha .

After two days of hard rain here mid atlantic area, time to sling some grass folks this is the stud of my herd,,, yah i get to ride for four hours ,,, mowing slow

List is getting smaller.......Got the foot plates shaped and bolted up. Finished the wiring, solenoid plate and the side cover. Had to rivit an upper mounting bracket on the belt cover till an aluminum magician can work his magic. It’s getting excited to go to the show.

Trina and I do all of our cutting and splitting out in the forest because we find it's easier to bring the splitter close to the tree after it's been felled. I had the same issue with the splitter being too tall for a Wheelhorse. I can't get any bigger equipment into my Forest unless I build a much wider bridge over an Old logging twitch trail that is filled with rotting corduroy logs and mud and muck. About 25 or 30 ft long. I went and got a drop hitch and flipped it upside down so I could pull our beast of a splitter out into the forest.

Yes those out door stoves heat a lot we rent this place here it has fireplace and wood stove For saws i run a mix, Echo 590c Husky 450 but i love older Poulan the Made in America saws. have a Poulan 3400, or two actually and a 361. All my wood i get for free so makes it nice. and i love playing chainsaw

Since that trailer was designed to haul snowmobiles, the axle is more forward. You need to have at least 10 percent of the total weight on the tongue to prevent sway, so load it accordingly.

John, this is such a tragic event and no words can properly convey the sorrow we all feel. As the shock and anger subside please concentrate on the love you have for the remaining family members and the joy Jim, Sue and John Paul brought into your life. You're headed down a long road toward acceptance of this tragedy but I know that your love for your extended family will help heal the grief all of you are dealing with.

They make roll pin punches made for air chisels.

I Always dent my gas cans in before closing them up. Don't like the look of ballooning gas cans Makes me think an explosion is on it's way.

A 1/4" carbide drill bit gets them out every time. Any other type of drill bit will be useless.

The 520H, C-161, and Lawn Ranger haven’t been out for a few months so they got some exercise today. Spread and smoothed a Little Rock at the shed.

Do what Mike said! If the diaphragm in your fuel pump has a slight leak it will allow gas to enter the crankcase diluting your engine oil and causing catastrophic damage if not corrected.
