19 pointsI’ve always wanted a lift table so a couple of Saturdays ago I woke up and said to myself “today’s the day!” I went to Harbor Freight and purchased a motorcycle lift table, then some plywood to make the top wider to accommodate a tractor. I was hoping to get an air actuated one but this is foot pedal operated and that’s fine for the amount it will be going up and down. Some paint and a decal from Terri and I’m happy 😃

13 pointsI bought a 1959 RJ that had been in a semi trailer for twenty years after previous owner painted it Sunrise Red ( you will like this one Howard!) . Not sure why the two angle iron pieces were welded to the front frame but they were on there when I bought it. I pondered for a while about removing and why they were placed in front in the first place. The frame had no breaks and still not sure why they were added. I had three weights a machinist made years ago that were numbered 1,2 and three. I used them on my cultivator when weeding my gardens. Thee together weigh 54 lbs. When looking at the RJ I thought if a bar was placed in front I could hang two weights on it. So I finally got around to using angle grinder to cut an inch out of the top of each angle iron. I called my welder Russ and asked if he could weld a 1 1/2 inch x 9 inch bumper with a flag holder on the side opposite the hot muffler! I hauler the RJ by trailer to Russ’ welding shop snd left it overnight. He called me 9:30 am today and said come snd get it! I think it turned out pretty nice and after putting a new clutch spring on it and adjusting the clutching it works very well! No more wild horse bucking!

11 pointsNearly finished cleaning out the building on our new property. This will be my shop once the new house is finished. 970 sq feet, 5 rooms and 2 breezeways. It is surrounded by shrubs Front breezeway. Looking north Looking south. It started life as a garage but was converted to a house sometime in the late 60s. Going to install a door large enough for tractors and cars on the south wall - probably a roll up.

10 pointsThis morning's project is making a Wheel Horse/garden tractor work area in the shop. I have to many things in and out of here. Anything from mini bikes to lawn tractors to automobiles. Things are getting mixed together to much.

10 pointsBurn some late night oil and Finish reinstallation of weights..design a 6in(5 7/8) snap in hubcap for the wheel weights...

9 pointsWonderful gift from China...Emerald Ash Borer. There are a few trees I can cut myself like this one, but, I am hiring a tree service to lay down several more. There will be lots of cutting up and hauling away work for the 310-8 and the L-107. Provably some heavy lifting with the D200 FEL. Yesterday was the start.

9 pointsAfter two days of hard rain here mid atlantic area, time to sling some grass folks this is the stud of my herd,,, yah i get to ride for four hours ,,, mowing slow

9 pointsI've been chasing a big oil leak on my M18. I thought it was the drain pipe so I pulled the engine off last weekend, removed the drain completely, put it back together and it marked it's spot again all week. I put this together from a MV18 and some ebay parts, so took I it personal... found a wet hole in the rear of the bearing cover below the pulley. Looked at my 418-8 and saw that hole has a bolt in it. So I tapped it and put a header bolt in it. So far so good. Put some weights on, My wheels are made from miller blanks, wish I'd have used Wheel Horse centers. If it had straight centers with a broached hole it would have been about an hour quicker, but... 13" pieces of all thread and some juggling got me 90# more per wheel.

8 pointsI had one and it lifted a tractor once. And that was it. Needless to say I don't have one any more. I do have a Harbor Fright lift table. Lifts most tractors and you can roll it out of the way with the tractor still on it

7 pointsI figured since my 520 was done it should have something a little nicer to get hauled around on, so in my spare time () I re-did our vintage Snowco utility/snowmobile/garden tractor trailer. We have owned this since the late 70's, purchased from the original owner. This thing has been used hard over the years, numerous wheel and tire changes, a couple winches, 2 axles, leaf springs, patches, you name it. This time it got re-done in the appropriate colors (originally seafoam green), new LED lights, new wheel and tires, new leaf spring, all new hardware, original fenders re-installed , etc.. This has hauled 100's of Horses in it's day, 1000's of other brands, and will continue to be used but it'll get stored inside from now on and not see daily use anymore. Dad always said it was the best $100 he ever spent.

7 pointsThe 520H, C-161, and Lawn Ranger haven’t been out for a few months so they got some exercise today. Spread and smoothed a Little Rock at the shed.
-
6 pointsAnd with that I'm gonna call it done Scuffed it, buffed it, detailed it, and stickered it. I can honestly say that the purchase of the tractor and the ensuing restoration is what has led me back to spending time with Horses and to being a vendor here on Red Square. It all started with a different way home from work, this tractor sitting along the road with a for sale sign on it , and my dad telling me "I know where there's a bunch of NOS parts and hubcaps to fit that" and here we are.

5 pointsList is getting smaller.......Got the foot plates shaped and bolted up. Finished the wiring, solenoid plate and the side cover. Had to rivit an upper mounting bracket on the belt cover till an aluminum magician can work his magic. It’s getting excited to go to the show.

5 pointsA wish i just can subscribe especially after Saturday late evening. Yesterday after finalizing the Framework for the new Pavillion, short before a Weather comes. I quickly pulled a tarp over the Frame to be protected against the Weather and we can finalize our first Griller under the new Pavillion. So far the Day was fine, except the few hours after that. At about 20:00 we go back in and Kati decides to have a quick shower before i can do. I wonder how long that takes today, it was longer as normal so i take a look at her. Few seconds later i find her laying on the Bed hardly breathing. She told me she had a massive pain from heart side to the Heat arround the Neck. And breating is hard and feels like she get not enough Air. God bless, i updated shortly my First Aid course, where the Trainer explain exactly her Symptoms as a Heart Attack. I immediately call the Emergency Call and they be 5 minutes later here and take her immediately into Hospital They implant her a Stent. Today she is up and getting better - Thanks to all the Peoples they be involved and acted that fast. I tell this Just as a reminder, please update or make a First Aid Course, it can save Live, sometimes also that Live from your Honey.

5 pointsA bit more progress on tires and wheels! Still waiting for the weights to dry well. Replaced the 4 front wheel bearings(only a 50 mile round trip for those!). Still need another shim washer or 2. Did some flex seal spray seat patching, and of course another wd40 spray down!

4 pointsA 1/4" carbide drill bit gets them out every time. Any other type of drill bit will be useless.
-
4 pointsI've noticed. They have already scared the Deeres off to the back yard and now they are trying to push the Beaver out of its home. The only one standing its ground is the Y.E.T.I.

4 pointsThank you everyone! And anyone involved here on RedSquare isn't as random as one might think. We are still a community. @seuadr

4 pointsYou could add a couple 4x4s to support either end of your i beam and fasten the tops to your lighter beams. might take up a little floor space. im gonna have to do something similar for the chain hoists.as im not sure how much weight my current roof supports will handle. For lighter stuff, ill be installing THIS the length of the shop.

4 pointsAfter much thought, added some accent to the hood; also made my own step pads, eliminating the un-needed holes and making the needed holes smaller so that there is little to no red showing thru when installed.

3 pointsA lovely idea. May want to consider a transmission holder hole like I have on mine.
-
3 pointsAll those side-shots of these nice tractors. And here am I looking at this side shot of my hydro transmission. The previous owner managed to get everything covered in sand...
-
3 pointsIf I was to ever open a bar, I would name it "The Tailgate of Knowledge." With a big Bow-Tie tailgate hanging inside!
-
3 pointsI think you're a good influence on your friend. You turned him on to a couple tractors that will probably run forever. And,he'll have a great time working on them.

3 pointsThe "A" in your model number denotes a special oil pan. My 125 has a short pipe with a cap, coming right out of the bottom.
-
3 pointsSo I should update. I ended up replacing the ignition module and coil, resealing the intake manifold, new carb and it runs great. it mows and blows my yard and driveway and 4 others in the neighborhood. If I didn’t have this beast I could never do it.

3 pointsThe wife though leaving my truck at home and taking the Mini would keep me from getting anything

2 pointsI've been several years without a truck. Here in Maine and particularly in our rural life that's a little like being several years with one hand super glued to your forehead. You get by ok but it's just.... Challenging. The BBT/Significant other and I have been talking over the convenience of having a 3rd vehicle for awhile. We're finally in a position in life to be able to do so and not fret. I figured on waiting another year but my daily driver is showing its age a bit and I really need to stop using it as a tow vehicle. We need something that can tow a few thousand lbs and carry a decent load of aggregate too. I've been wanting a 1980-86 F series with a particular drivetrain for years. As much as I love an original creampuff we need a worker. Well I found this rig and decided to pull the trigger. I got me a Truck. It's an '86 F-250 HD. 300. 4 speed manual. 4WD. Low geared. Make no mistake... it's no cream puff. It's a worker. But it's a real live two owner truck with 43,000 ORIGINAL MILES. The original 1986 truck was bought by a mason local to central New Hampshire but it was right near the end of his career and he only used it for about 30, 35,000 MI. Then it sat for quite a while. Fella I got it from bought it about 15 or 20 years ago and over the next maybe 10 years? He did a full complete frame off restoration. Frame and drivetrain are the original. Cab is a '95. Bed is a southern one from '97. Nose is 85/86 vintage. It's not by a long shot a concourse d elegance show winner. But it's damn solid and has waaaaaay too many new parts to list. The PO was forced to stop working on it due to health reasons just before he finished up the final touches. It does run and drive perfectly fine and has a current inspection. I'll be doing some work on it like most of a set of engine gaskets. One rear wheel seal. Some interior trim finishing and changes. Things I'd like to do depending on finances and time: I really liked having a flat bed on my last truck. I'm thinking about making a steel reinforced wood bed. Maybe 7 x 8.5? I'd also like to do a 4 BBL carb/better intake and exhaust swap over. Stock HP in 86 was around 100, 110. Above changes can add 30 or 40. More important... More torque. I'll be in the market for those parts if anyone has a lead on good used ones. Here's a few pics.

2 pointsThe K-301 for he C-125 lives and breathes. I'm not going to tell you I simply hooked everything up, bumped the key, and it purred like a kitten, that would be a lie. I don't know how a guy can get the initial governor adjustment off THAT far, but I managed to. I also decided to install an electric fuel pump. I may change it to pulse later. The rebuilt carb seems to work perfectly, but I know better than to brag too soon. I have been bit before. Now that I have it running, the tractor wants to creep in reverse, even with the parking bake set. I think this might have been an on going problem with the PO as the brake pedal was broken off. Seems to me you would have to stomp pretty hard to break one of those. I'm gonna have to figure out how to adjust the Eaton trans. First one of these I have had. Right now I am pretty happy with it. Check back in a week. K301 lives.mp4

2 pointsAgreed. Only issue is the intake isn't available for several months. I'm poking around online to see what I can find.

2 pointsI will be set up near the 4H barn so I can take lots of pictures of Wild Bill moderating the parades Friday and Saturday
