Serviced today again my Horse after a High grass Mowing. Martl was mowing the Larger areas when he stops by. Hey Bud, i think i have a Job for you. Do you believe your Tracta can Mow out between the 5 Trees at my Large Sheds? My huge mower cannot reach it and i don‘t like to do it all by Hands. So i hope maybe your Machines can do that. Take a look and tell me if you believe if it will be possible for one of your Tractas... Hahaha Heeey Man, it‘s a Wheelhorse, it can do anything i like to do with it. Lemme look, i tell you if it will be possible. Just to show you lads what we was talking about when we meant mow „High Grass“ maximum height 1 m it was done with freshly sharpened Blades. 1 st Gear thottle @ 2700RPM, as you can hear, the Horse performs like a Charme. It grunts but it don‘t screams. The Single Belt what drives the deck performs pretty good, but that‘s the Limit it can handle. 2 Passes are needed, that‘s the result before the last pass. After That, we do our Daily Honeydo Job.

Clean it good, apply a light coating of a good quality high temp grease to the needle bearing inside the PTO and you can also clean and grease the bearing race on the engine shaft. There should be a seal on the backside of the PTO pulley toward the engine (see the green ring in the photo) . Don't be afraid to clean the clutch mating surface also: de-grease and possibly hit it with some 80-120 grit sandpaper on a sanding block to clean it up and remove some of the glaze that typically builds up.

Yesterday, working on my recently purchased Brand X,orange colored tractor,I decided to pull the slow leaking front tire off and repair it.Tubeless tire.Gonna tube it.Got the tire off the rim, and,of course, someone had used the dreaded Fix-A-Flat.What a mess in the tire and rim.I would normally just scrape away at it,but I happened to have my pressure washer out and hooked up,so I thought, what the heck.It pealed that sticky, gooey crap right off.Sand blasted,POR-15,prime and paint and I'll be all set to put the tire back on with a new tube once the paint is good and dry.Just a heads up to use a pressure washer for anyone cleaning a tire and rim that someone else "fixed" with that slimy crap. They ought to ban that stuff.

Well it's that time of year again to get started on the trail cleanup after this past Winter to get ready for the Meet n Greet in September. A little at a time makes it easier in the long run. Some of the old Pines were down in several sections and cut them up for the outdoor fire pit burning and any small hardwood was also cut up and stacked for the smaller woodstoves. Beautiful day weather wise with almost no insects which is very unusual for this time of year.

Thanks, here it is today after a few tweaks here and there. I kept the original tires and wheels so I can put it back to original if I ever want to. It looks much better in pictures than it does in person. Dad thought he was sort of a master painter with a spray can and did little touchups over the years. It’s still pretty original so I hate to mess with it much more.

With just under 2 weeks to go and barring no issues that life can sometimes get in the way, who has committed themselves to be present at this years show. This is something I have been trying to attend for 20 years and it looks like it really is finally happening.

So a friend that has a 2016 craftsman mower blew a valve. He has been around me a my multiple Wheel horses, and I mentioned to him “what about a Wheel Horse?”..... and that’s all it took!! What’s better than a 312-8 w/ 42” sd (with holes😞) a plow and a short Shute snowblower for $750..... Throw in a 310-8 with a nice 36” RD for $650! $650!! Two tractors, two mower decks, a plow and a short Shute snowblower!! The 312 needs a muffler, the 310 needs a fuel pump and a battery. And his wife said that I’m a “bad influence!” What?!🤔

I'd stack it like I did should take care of any exhaust burns. Just make sure u get it far enough away from hood that you don't burn the other side. I hardly even smell engine fumes with mine works mint

Saw this Economy #2786 sitting in the "yard" of a now-defunct plant nursery not far from home. The place has been out of business for a couple of years now and while I'd seen the machine sitting there, it didn't register for me until a week ago that it might be a real machine and not some cobbled up yard art (other things near it are faux Greek statues and fountains). Engine cowl is missing and the unique anti-theft (?) device is a signpost planted between the axle and the (bent) front tie rod. What caught my eye up close are the two levers for independent rear wheel brakes. To stop straight I guess you steer with your feet while pulling on the brake levers. Thought it might be of interest. If someone wanted to pursue acquiring it, PM me and I'll let you know where it is.

Hi All. I was delighted to find this forum. I was struggling to find advice for maintaining my Europa 212-5. Given its age, parts are are often a struggle to find. All best wishes. Paul

A bit more progress on tires and wheels! Still waiting for the weights to dry well. Replaced the 4 front wheel bearings(only a 50 mile round trip for those!). Still need another shim washer or 2. Did some flex seal spray seat patching, and of course another wd40 spray down!

Electric lift assembly; removed from a 1986 417-8 speed. Complete and in good working order. Everything has been blasted and professionally refinished. This is used but should assemble just like a brand new kit, just add your gauges and new decals. $300.00 Send me a PM if interested.

Well I have been mowing for several years with my xi model machines and still love them. Been toying with the idea of a zero turn to see how it handles my terrain. I have some hills etc. instead of jumping in fully with a big money commercial zero I was able to get this one locally (10 mins away). It was used to mow maybe 20 times by original owner so it is basically new. Got a great deal on it. Headed out of town for a few days so I cannot clean it up until I get back but here it is. Any feedback good or bad on these are welcomed.

This will most likely be a spare parts tractor if needed. I wanted to have an extra 8hp motor for my 855 and 875 as well as a spare rear and and some good sheet metal. The front wheel weights were worth more than I paid for the lot lol

That appears to be white smoke --- right? that indicates burning oil - black/sooty smoke indicates fuel. Unfortunately white is the worse of the 2, and generally starts happening on start up. It simply means oil is getting into the combustion chamber, which means its getting by the piston/rings. It could mean its just worn to the point this is happening, or possibly the piston or a ring/s has broken. Give a bit more details, confirm it is white smoke - has the engine got a lot of hours on it, if so, could be it needs a rebuild. Are you having to add oil fairly often? My first impression is youre probably heading for a rebuild ---- but, some good news is if it is just getting age on it and isnt a broken piston/rings the dang thing could run for quite a long time - if you can put up with the smoke!
