6 pointsSorry I haven't been on the site lately, had a couple crazy months (nothing bad or anything, just busy). Just picked up this cute little B&S off FBM (gotta stop surfing that place). Not sure what its off of, one forum I found made mention of a possible reel mower. I know its not exactly WH related, but it is a little engine. Mods, if this belongs in a different forum, please feel free to move it. Previous owner said it had good compression, and that he zapped himself on the plug, so it has good spark. The little research I did makes my think this was built in '59 based on the serial. Need to find a manual for it and see what I can figure out about it. Model: 61102 Type No: 940562 Serial: 5907240

6 pointsI studied that picture for several minutes thinking to myself that Mike has lost it, that's not a Cat engine. Then I finally realized what I was looking at.
-
6 pointsOh not to much... just got my Bigfoot hunting permit in the mail today! So that's kinda a big deal!

5 pointsTrying to design and 3D print the front emblem. Below is my model. Any body who want to try out 3D modeling and 3D printing, I’m using Onshape (this file is public so you should be able to find it) and an ender 3 v2 printer.

5 pointsNever really thought of using a cat as a spark tester. Here, hold my beer and watch this.

5 pointsBeen a right grand day. Maybe a tad too hot. 21C-70F. I'd mowed the green and verges yesterday, so today I ran round the green with the lawn sweeper. Behind the C-125 BTW. I didn't pull it. Before that I strimmed round the lawn edges then mowed it. Next door neighbour had dumped some nice soil down the bridleway, so I went down with the Sears with a couple of buckets and spade. The rack and box I made is more useful than I thought it would be. Used the soil, after I'd sieved it, to fill in a bit of a hollow in an edge of the lawn. That worked up a bit of a sweat. Rest of the afternoon was spent mooching about, visiting a neighbours, sitting on the decking watching the young moorhens and drinking pear cider.

5 pointsHaha me 2! You know idk I just loved the idea of a beefed up trail bomber and this is what my brain thought of. So I'm sure what happens with it will be alot of "how the heck did that get there or your stuck where!?" Type stuff. This is what happens when it snows and I'm stuck inside to long

5 pointsIn short, I fixed today what I totally screwed up yesterday. Having made a hasty front mount sprayer for a tractor, I hastily used a 5 gallon gas can for the tank. I was in a hurry and grabbed said tank to put enough 'gas" in the beater car to get to town. Yep That's my sign.. The only good thing is i realized my mistake after about a gallon of 2-4-D and did not start the car. Fired up the C-160 and she pulled that puppy with a little slipping on the wet gravel into the shop. Got it jacked up and fortunately he fuel filter was close to he polluted tank. The first fuel out was pure gasoline, so at least my second bone head move which was moving the key switch to accessory without disconnecting the battery did not put the weed spray into the fuel lines. My buddy at the auto parts store sold me a new fuel filter and some Heet the day before, so we were as ready as we knew how to be. He also warned me not to run the fuel pump for very long and to not run it empty at all. So the routine for today was 30 key on cycles for about a half gallon of gas, mow the yard for two rounds, rinse and repeat. Fellas, it was ugly. A white stratified layer of weed killer followed by a cloudy layer of gasoline. dumped hat in a clear container, and followed that up by collecting each batch and pouring it in a glass [to observe how much water was present] gallon jug, set outside in a safe place. Then pour out about 90 percent of the gas into a collection container and the watery spray/gas into another. There was a lot more fuel in the tank than I thought, and eventually the water became less and less. You could tell that the pump was pulling it from the tank bottom as eventually the white solids from the 2-4-D eventually vanished, followed by less and less water and eventually none that was visible as a clear bubble in the glass jug. With a great deal of confidence, i can say that he last five gallons out of the tank would have been perfectly fine to use in most engines, but I still took it out and probably will use it mixed with new fuel in the small engines. After all this mess, I hooked up the fuel filter and she fired right up, and the lawn was also mowed while giving the fuel pump time to cool . What a big relief, and Mrs farmer was no longer mumbling the word "stupid" under her breath. I really feel that not getting in a hurry gave the water/spray time to settle to the bottom of the tank and that is why it all worked out. And finally, i put warning tags on the yard spray, dirty gas cans and so on so this does not happen again.

5 pointsJust wait till you get the bill from the taxidermist, now THAT will be a big deal!

4 points@Racinboband @squonk Skunky lost it a long time ago , that is the reason he has so many Dr appts. and operations , nobody can find what he lost.

4 pointsI've got the getting down on the floor part mastered; sometimes I end up there without intending to. I'm working on the getting back up part, but 50% ain't too bad is it? Just got to make a comprehensive list of things to be done while you're down there so you don't waste the get up part.

4 pointsThat is a nice solid working trimmer. I have one of those however the top wider than the base makes a bit too top heavy sometimes such as when trimming laminate on 3/4” edges. I opted for the other model which is a Makita knockoff. I keep ten of them set up with different cutters so I don’t have to change bits or rework the height set up such as with laminate bits. That is a nicely built trimmer .

4 pointsToday was Kohler day in N. Berwick,Me. The Onan stayed out of sight. Lined them up from 12 HP to 20. great day today. Went for a trail ride and the trails need some pickup. Will wait for a little bit more wind to take the blackflies into a neighboring State.

3 pointsWell I am done with the rust removing, priming and painting for this old 42 Wheel Horse Sickle Bar Mower. Now time to reassemble ! The knife bar with new blades and rivets was finished a couple weeks ago. Also a new oil seal was installed in the wobble box behind the drive pulley. This wobble box is the best I have ever seen on a Wheel Horse sickle but the rest of the sickle was a real rust bucket. All new hardware going on this redo. Most of it stainless steel. Here are some pics of the parts ready for reassembly. I can not believe how many parts are actually in these sickle mowers. It is going to be slow going but some progress today. You have to refer to the manual drawing for almost every bolt on the guard assembly . I will post more photos as I progress on this project. This is fourth one of these I have done but maybe the last.

3 pointsMy first Wheel Horse. Tractors starts and runs. Hydro seems to be working well. I chained it to a tree and spun chained tires in both forward and reverse. It came with a snow/dozer blade attached and a 48” deck that’s gonna need some TLC and parts. Previous owner said he used it to plow snow but it has been sitting for two years. I’m gonna change all the fluids and filters, grease all the zerks and check out all the belts. I, not really interested in the plow but I do want to get the deck working well once I’m sure the tractor is right. I’d appreciate any advice that’s offered. I’ll try to get some pictures ASAP.

3 pointsBrought the GT14 home this afternoon. Here are a few pics. I’m pretty sure it’s a 1969. The tag has 1-7441 for model #. I’m pretty impressed with how smooth it sounds and how easy it starts. Not sure if you can tell from the pics but the lights even work.

3 pointsI had the same thought John. I'm thinking this 2K sqft rancher that I paid $22K for in 1965 now contains around 1/2mill$ in raw materials.

3 pointsRaining all day today,so I after breakfast I held down my recliner then it looked as if the couch needed holding down so I moved over to it. That turned into a nap.Had big plans but I guess every now and then you need a day like this!😂

3 pointsUpdate to the project. The local cement pavers setting union which includes BBT and her Mama have been working on the circle. Here's a picture of the current status.

3 pointsWell just so happens I manged to record quantum fluctuations in some of the smoke particle quarks. Apparently they are quantum linked with some of their counterparts in the future, by comparing the current fluctuations af apparently non linked quarks, and linked quarks, I managed to simulate a view of the Dig Dug of the future! My quantum modeling is obviously off a little ..D series i guess must bethe software default..but you get the idea! (Credit for default d series computations goes to @btm1970)

2 pointsFeeling grateful that Mrs K convinced me to spend the $15,000 in 2019 for the 2000 board feet of 3/4" T&G white oak flooring I installed throughout the house. Worth nearly $50,000 today.

2 pointsThat may be true of some here, but I also think there are a few here do have some kind of ill feelings towards the green and yellow, based on their own bias. I understand the Ford versus Chevy mentality, but it can go a bit too far. Go visit WFM, and if other brands are brought up in topics, it's to ask for more information or other questions, comments, etc. No other brand bashing. Why, because the members there are happy with the JD brand and can also appreciate the other brands design and build. They do not feel the need to put down other brands, there is no other brand envy.
-
2 pointsWhat's the point of this thread? Are we that envious of JD that we post anything that may be negative to the brand? Sorry, had to vent, but the brand bashing of the most recognizable brand is getting old. End of vent.

2 pointsDon't bet on it. Some years ago when I had my digger, I was towing it on the trailer home, when some rectum coming the opposite way kept on coming. The grass verge is about 2ft then a ditch both sides of the lane. No way I could possibly pull over. I stopped and he stopped. We looked at each other and he then signalled me to reverse. I got out and politely asked, honestly, if he was joking. He said you reverse. I got back in the Land Rover, rolled a smoke, put my feet up on the dash. Took him 5 minutes of his wife giving him earache before he reversed to the nearest gateway.
